Luxury Australia & New Zealand Trip Review, Sydney Opera House & Botanical Gardens, Queenstown Sky Trolley & Bird Sanctuary, Yacht
We were pleased with the accommodations and the flexibility. The flights there were seamless, Quantas is exceptional. Sadly the flights back were not. Personally, if I can avoid it, I’ll not fly United or Air New Zealand again. We also had difficulty getting into New Zealand as they haven’t worked out the kinks in their new visa program. The hotels were spot on and so convenient. The breakfast included made everything so much easier and less stressful in terms of finding a place and payment. The food, especially at Hamilton Island was amazing.  We were able to walk anywhere we needed so fewer cab/Uber fees. We did seem to do a lot of 5 star cuisine ( the food was nice but none of them were impressive or 5 star). By the end of our Australia leg we were pretty much over being on the water. The first yacht we did in Hamilton Island was amazing. Great staff, nice small group, excellent beach. The second one we did (cannot recall they name) was just to big a group, everything seemed impersonal and snorkeling was a pain because you kept literally running into other people. Sydney was great, and being in The Rocks is the way to go. We could walk most anywhere we wanted to go and if it was farther we were close to the ferries. Found a great little pizzaeria that had the best margarita pizza ever. Plus it was directly behind our hotel. I wish we would have had time to go to the big zoo and not just the smaller wildlife one, but I’m glad we made the choice we did. The Wildlife center, attached to the aquarium, only has native animals so that was cool. My biggest surprise was with Australian souvenirs nothing was made in Australia. Artwork was aboriginal but it was all outsourced. New Zealand was great as everything including manufacturing was from New Zealand. That, to me, is a real souvenir, not something made in Asia that says Australia. I can make something that says Australia, the whole point is to have something from there and contribute locally.

Australia Trip Review: Sydney, Adelaide, Uluru, Melbourne, Great Barrier Reef, Snorkeling, Wildlife, Culture

Our trip included three couples from Massachusetts. We worked with Zicasso's travel agency to customize a trip to Australia. In general, the trip was excellent. Most of the travel logistics were perfect. All transfers were on time. All of the guides were on time, passionate about Australia, and were very good to excellent. All the hotels were also very good to excellent. The travel app was very helpful for keeping us updated on trip logistics. Most logistics worked out well. Most of the tours arranged were excellent. The fly nets the agency provided were a godsend in Uluru. Seeing Australia's unique wildlife, snorkeling in the Great Barrier Reef, going to a footy game, walking around cities, meeting indigenous guides, and simply being in Australia is an experience we will never forget. The Great Ocean Road excursion in Melbourne was beautiful, but eight hours in a tour bus was very long. The geographic size of Australia is something visitors have to deal with.

I would have rated the trip five stars except for the following minor issues. We arranged travel between the US and Australia ourselves (not using the agency), which, in hindsight, was a mistake. Therefore, most of the travel headaches we experienced are not included in this review. The one miss they should have caught was informing us that a New Zealand ETA is needed for transiting through Auckland, New Zealand (even though we did not clear New Zealand customs). We were able to apply and get the ETA at the Houston airport just before boarding the plane, but the stress could easily have been avoided had we realized we needed this document before the trip began.

The instructions for where to meet for the backstage tour of the Sydney Opera House were a little off. We were told to meet the tour at 6.45am, downstairs by the information booth. This turned out to be the meeting place for the outside tour. By 6.55am, fighting jetlag and the early hour, we figured the meeting place for the backstage tour was upstairs and, luckily, we made it in time for our 7am tour, which was excellent.

The selection of wineries we visited in Adelaide wasn't ideal. Several did not ship their products to the US, which meant, for practical reasons, we could only purchase a bottle or two. Ideally, we should only visit wineries that ship wine to the States.

Communicating with the agency during the trip was more challenging than we expected. For some reason, we didn't always get their emails or text messages. It wasn't clear how often they checked up on us during our journey. Last year, we arranged a similar trip to Greece and the company we worked with provided us with a mobile phone for the duration of the trip to facilitate communications. They regularly called us to see how the trip was going. In our opinion, this capability and handholding would improve the service this agency provides.

Australia Family Travel Review: Adelaide, Sydney Aquarium, Seal Bay, Wildlife Sanctuary, Barossa Valley Wine Tour, Australian Open
Our recent trip to Australia was amazing! We spent 14 days exploring Sydney, Adelaide, Kangaroo Island and Melbourne as a family vacation and to celebrate a college graduation! Our travel agent was wonderful. She worked with our budget and ideas to create the perfect vacation for us. She was very professional, detail oriented, communicative and made it easy to stay in touch throughout our visit. We were a little apprehensive to be working with a 2nd party in making all of our arrangements, but we were in excellent hands! Our agent knew the areas we were traveling to and gave us many choices in hotel accommodations, excursions and tours. Our hotels were all perfectly located in great walking areas and easy access to city transportation if needed. The excursions and guides that were arranged had wonderful, local knowledge and made for unique experiences. I would highly recommend the travel agent and this tour company for any traveler! This trip was unforgettable!

Australia, New Zealand Vacation Review: Uluru, Melbourne, Queenstown, Te Anau, Sydney, Two-Week Trip

The trip was very nice. Our itinerary included Uluru, Melbourne, Queenstown, Te Anau, and Sydney, so it was a lot to cover in two weeks. But aside from a couple of rainy days in Uluru and Sydney, most everything worked out nicely. We enjoyed the pristine nature in Uluru and Queenstown/Te Anau, but equally the busy cities of Melbourne and Sydney.

Zicasso’s travel agency was a pleasure to work with. The original booking of this trip was made before the pandemic, for April 2020. Obviously, we had to put the plan on hold and a lot changed between the original booking and the trip. Throughout all of this, our travel agency stayed in touch, worked through the changes with a great deal of patience, and finally made this happen. It was worth the wait.

Travel Review: Australia Vacation, Sydney, Perth, Adelaide, Kangaroo Island, Kuranda, Uluru, Great Barrier Reef Dive

This was a trip of a lifetime.  In a matter of hours, a simple inquiry through an internet search, got me in touch with our agent from this travel company.  She contacted me immediately and after briefly speaking to me had a preliminary itinerary emailed out.  It was an incredible itinerary and set in motion preparing an adventure tour.  We started in Sydney and had four nights in the Rocks area.  The hotel was perfect with a kitchen and proximity to everything.  Four nights gave us enough time to get our bodies into the time zone and begin us on our adventure in Australia.  Our agent set us up with the Sydney Harbour Bridge Climb and a day out at the Blue Mountains.  The tour company was great.  Driver was informative and kept the tour moving along.  Wifi on the bus was great for sending pictures on Facebook and Instagram Our flights and hotels were coordinated perfectly for optimum time at each destination.  We travelled to Cairns and dived on the Great Barrier Reef and travelled above the treetops to Kuranda.  Our hotel was on the Esplanade and great central location.  We had laundry facilities just in time to start fresh at our next destination. Next on to Uluru for a sunset tour of Ayers Rock and dinner.  The meal was fabulous and we met some great people.   The next morning we were picked up for a sunrise tour which was “sunsational”.  Again, our tour guide was informative and made it a very memorable day.    Unfortunately due to a severe thunderstorm evening camel ride to Ayers Rock and Field of Lights was cancelled.  We contacted our agent and she responded immediately and advised that we would be credited for the cancellation. We flew on to Alice Springs and stayed at a beautiful hotel.  The concierge went above and beyond the call of duty for us.  When my daughter explained how the camel ride the night before had been cancelled and how we were all a little disappointed, he immediately called the guide who runs camel rides at sunset and made it happen for us.  He even picked us up and delivered us to the farm as we wouldn’t have made it in time after the tour of a “Town Called Alice” was finished.   As it turned out the guide said that our agent had called him as well!! Wow, what service. Our concierge drove us to the airport the next morning and we headed to Kangaroo Island.  I have to say that I loved Kangaroo Island.  It is a must see if you love wildlife and nature.  Both days were so exciting and beautiful.  The landscape along the coast, Seal Bay, Emu Ridge, Remarkable Rocks, Admiral’s Bridge, koalas and kangaroos. Stunning!!   We flew back to Adelaide.  We were in a hotel in the city, but ended up taking the tram to a beach resort.  We spent a well-deserved day at the beach relaxing and swimming.  The sunset was fabulous.  We ended up in Perth to get my daughter settled at her residence for university.  Another great location and we enjoyed two days at the beach there as well.

Australia, New Zealand Luxury Vacation Review: Port Douglas, Whitsundays, Sydney, Queenstown, Te Anau, Auckland, 20-Day Trip

Where do I start? We loved this trip from beginning to end. This was our third trip organized through Zicasso and the first where we requested a third option for a travel agent. Our travel agent did an excellent job and we credit him for some of the truly unforgettable, hidden-treasure experiences on this journey.

Our 20-day trip included Port Douglas, the Whitsundays, Sydney, Queenstown, Te Anau, and Auckland, but every transfer was a trip in itself. All the guides were excellent and willing to teach us about their countries and cultures. Not only was each day enjoyable, but the flow of the trip was superb.

We don't spend much time in hotel rooms, so we decreased the prices, but emphasized locations. Our travel agent did an excellent job with our hotel choices in every city. Also, he was always available to help with any questions or concerns.
