On our final day in Madrid, he drove us to the train station. Our local guide in Toledo had a depth of knowledge of the history of this wonderful city, making this one of our favorite destinations. She assisted in finding the right restaurants and shops at which to buy local wares and not the tourist traps that could be found. Our local guide in Seville had the best character of all our guides. He was authentic and knew the area well. It was like being escorted by the governor of the city; I swear, the flamenco dancing didn't start until we arrived. It felt like we were with family at all the restaurants we visited with him. Our local guide in Ronda was knowledgeable about the city and bullfighting culture and history. Walking the oldest bullring was a highlight for me. We couldn't have had a more behind-the-scenes tour of this beautiful city. Our driver to and from Ronda made the two-hour one-way trip smooth and easy. He was a great conversationalist and provided some local eatery recommendations in Seville during our return trip.

Working with the Zicasso travel agency to plan our trip to Japan (Tokyo/Hakone/Kyoto/Kobe) was the best decision we made. We had two meetings (and email traffic) to discuss what type of trip we were looking for, our budget, and how we like to travel. Our agent came back with a fantastic trip based on those discussions. There were so many special activities included that we would never have experienced without her help, from a nigiri-making class to washi paper making, then samurai training and so much more. Our hand-selected guides were also amazing and so well prepared by our agent and the team regarding what types of sights we wanted to see and what some of our travel challenges might be. These guides were knowledgeable, friendly, and felt like my new friends. We also experienced a slight medical issue while on our trip and the agency helped us find a doctor the same day. They seriously went above and beyond. I also loved that we had an app that showed our entire itinerary and that we could message them during the trip with any questions or issues. They would check in to make sure we were having a good time and to see if they could be helpful. We received total white-glove treatment from start to finish. I will absolutely use them for my next trip to Japan!!

I don’t even know where to begin singing the praises of Zicasso and their travel company! I have done my share of travel (definitely more within the US than foreign) and planned my share of family trips… and I’m never going back to doing it on my own again! From the minute we submitted our request to Zicasso for a nine-day, family-of-five (parents and three adult girls) trip to Greece, the Zicasso team and their travel company were extremely responsive, knowledgeable, organized, and professional – and the product and customer service they provided was beyond comparison. After the initial request, we had no need for contact with Zicasso (although they did periodically check in with us over the six months between trip planning and departure), so the rest of this review is directed at their travel team and, in particular, our agent. We very much appreciated the level of thought and detail that went into the trip planning, taking into consideration every single note mentioned in the request and subsequent emails. Communications were always very prompt and clear, and payment options were well explained and very convenient. On our departure date, we were ready for take-off and excited about everything our trip included. Then, what we will forever refer to as “The Outage” struck on July 19, canceling our international flight. We fought through the mayhem at O’Hare airport and, by the end of the day, were left with the only option of a flight arriving in Greece two days later than scheduled. Our original trip included three islands, so a two-day delay threw our plans (inter-island flights, tours, multiple hotel rooms at each site) into quite a spin. That evening, as we waited in Chicago to depart, our agent suggested a live call with us – even though it was the middle of night in her time zone – to go over all the options she had organized in response to the interruption. I cannot imagine recovering from this blow to our itinerary without our agent in my corner doing all the scrambling, rebooking, and rescheduling. We were so grateful for her dedication to adapting plans to accommodate the global airline outage; it allowed us to recover the highlights that were important to us and still enjoy a fabulous vacation. During the trip itself, she frequently checked in with us and provided so much helpful information (at one point after a call, one of our daughters exclaimed, “She’s so NICE!”). She even had thoughtful welcome gifts delivered to us and booked an unexpected complimentary excursion for us in sympathy of our travel struggles. Furthermore, now that I’m beginning the ordeal of submitting five travel insurance claims, she has pledged any help we need and is ridiculously quick to respond to every little request I send her for documentation, incurred costs, etc. (I’m trying to figure out a way to snag her from her travel company and convince her to plan my international trips in every country I visit!!)

This was an exceptional, personalized itinerary. All of the private guides were very knowledgeable and extremely accommodating to even last-minute requests. However, by far the most exceptional component of the trip were the caring and attentive employees of the Zicasso travel company. Our agents were absolutely superb and went way beyond their traditional role as travel agents. They became friends who even assisted me in resolving a medical issue and rescheduling our last flight when a strike closed Gatwick Airport. These people truly had your back and you knew you had local friends who could help you with any issue. We had an outstanding adventure! This was our third Zicasso trip – a complex, two-week vacation with six people, ourselves, adult children and their significant others across Germany and Austria. We had many standard (wine tasting, castle touring) and non-standard (canyoning, via ferratas) requests, and Zicasso’s travel company did an amazing job of connecting us with incredible tour guides. The key for me, and what really helps me come back to Zicasso again and again, is "connecting the dots". Our travel company perfectly set up all of our logistics and travel arrangements. On one occasion, things were not quite perfect and they quickly remedied the issue. In addition, they quickly received our feedback during the trip and gave suggestions and/or alternative plans. The adventure was amazing!

Absolutely everything about our first trip to Chile and Peru was exceptional, due in large part to the brilliant, personally tailored itinerary designed by Zicasso’s travel agent. Communication with him from the onset was exceptional; at times I’m sure it was late at night or on the weekends when I messaged from Australia, yet his responses were pretty much immediate. He was excellent at planning every last detail, including fabulous accommodation, wonderful restaurants, sightseeing must-dos, train travel and transfers, skilled drivers, as well as access to exceptionally knowledgeable and personable guides who became “friends” through their ability to interact with and read our small group. Our agent was also always open to discuss our ideas and wishes, offering sage advice at all times. We will definitely travel back to South America and could not imagine being looked after by another agency as well as we were by ours.

This trip through the Basque region had everything: beautiful beaches, lush scenery, history, delicious food, outdoor activities, knowledgeable and friendly guides, wine culture, local flavor, and unique experiences (running with the bulls and a bullfight). Every hotel was very comfortable (even iconic in some instances) and well-located. We experienced great service from the drivers and all the people we encountered. There is not a thing I would change. Our travel agent simply nailed exactly what we wanted. Our local support person was attentive and responsive, and made changes along the way to enhance the trip.

It was the perfect start to each day of exploring the city. And let's talk about our walking tour guide in Paris. She was an absolute gem. She took us through the winding streets of the Latin District, sharing stories of artists and poets, giving us a masterclass in French art and history. We had a front-row gourmet seat at the Moulin Rouge. Talk about an unforgettable experience! One of the highlights was definitely our wine and cheese tour. We sampled the most exquisite cheeses and wines, learning about the rich culinary traditions of France. And of course, no trip to Paris is complete without a visit to a French pharmacy. We stocked up on skincare products like there was no tomorrow! And then Zurich. Oh Zurich, you stole our hearts! The hotel was pure luxury. The spa experience was out of this world, like floating on a cloud of relaxation. Our guide in Zurich was so knowledgeable and fun. He took us for a fondue feast, shared stories of Zurich's gold coast, and even treated us to a tour of a well-known chocolate factory. Heaven! Overall, our trip was the perfect blend of relaxation and adventure. We soaked in the culture, indulged in gourmet delights, and made memories to last a lifetime. For our three-week trip, we asked to learn about Scottish history and, most importantly, get out of the cities, meet the people, and experience Scotland. We asked and they listened! This vacation was sensational from beginning to end. The hotel choices were absolutely perfect. The tours were extremely fun and educational. In general, I am very critical of customer service in all facets of my family's daily life. That said, the Zicasso travel agency offered the best customer service I have ever encountered in my 50 years! Our 10-day trip to Italy was absolutely phenomenal thanks to the hard work of everyone affiliated with the travel company, from the owners down to every tour guide and driver. From the moment I started working on an itinerary with the agent, the service was exceptional – gracious, accommodating, patient, and helpful. For nearly a year, there were constant updates emailed to me, especially every time I wanted to add or delete an excursion. I can't say enough about the agent and her team. Once we were on our trip, the team called us every few days just to make sure we were okay. And during our trip, they kindly answered every little question I had. All I had to do was text them, even something as simple as, "What should I tip?". Before our trip even ended, my family and I were already talking about using the company again for another trip. Incredible!

They listened to our desires for an active family vacation and went above and beyond with all of the details! We spent two full weeks in Croatia and had so many memorable and beautiful experiences. Other highlights were a history and gastronomy tour in Split; a biking tour outside of Dubrovnik, followed by a cooking class and amazing home-cooked meal at a family home; a kayaking tour out of Hvar; a private boat tour to the Blue Cave, with snorkeling; and a visit to Mali Ston to enjoy fresh oysters on the boat of the oyster farm owner, who explained how they caught the oysters and treated us to the freshest oysters and mussels we've ever had! Our contact from the travel agency was always very quick to answer questions before and during the trip. We loved Croatia – the history is amazing, the people are friendly, the food is great, the architecture is stunning, the national parks are gorgeous, and there is so much to do and experience. Everywhere we went, we felt 100% safe, and everything was very clean. The Adriatic Sea has crystal-clear, beautiful water. You absolutely must visit Plitvice Lakes (stunning waterfalls and lake) and Krka National Park if you have time. It is beautiful, less crowded than Plitvice, and teeming with frogs, which my boys loved finding. Split was my absolute favorite city. It’s amazing how they have incorporated newer architecture among the centuries-old buildings for an amazing old-town experience. Dubrovnik has stunning ancient walls and fortresses, Zadar is beautiful and has a great waterfront promenade, and Hvar is a vibrant and fun beach town. The travel agency always set us up with local guides and drivers who really added to our experience. We loved having private tours instead of being with a huge group! I'm so glad we booked through them and would encourage others to do the same!

This was one of the most beautiful and amazing trips my husband and I have ever been on! Zicasso's travel partner did such a wonderful job planning it and was so positive, helpful, and supportive throughout the entire trip. (Our agent even provided her own cell/mobile number and was so responsive, kind, and helpful when we contacted her with questions/concerns during the trip). We found out from one of our tour guides that it’s harder to make a hair appointment than an appointment with a lawyer. They also found our lost trip info folder for us. All the other arrangements (tickets/vouchers, transportation/transfers, reservations, tours, etc), information, and recommendations provided by our travel agent and her team were excellent. The Lake Como motor boat tour to Villa del Balbianello, on a beautiful Venetian wooden boat, was so amazing and interesting, and the boat captain and tour guide were the best. They were so friendly. The Varenna hiking tour guide was so warm and friendly, and provided a great experience for us. The boat tour on Lake Garda on our wedding anniversary was another beautiful and amazing experience, and we were so grateful for our boat captain. He was so kind, fun, and caring. He even arranged for someone to meet him on the way with superglue so he could fix some decorative trim that started falling off my sandal! Everyone was really helpful and pleasant during our trip. Almost every person we interacted with was really great. There were so many special, thoughtful, bespoke touches arranged by our travel agent and her team. This trip was the perfect combination of tours and quality time to explore on our own. The whole trip was such a wonderful, magical blessing, and we cannot thank our travel agent, her team, and all the people they made arrangements with enough for making this happen for us! My overall comments on the trip are fantastic. My wife and I spent nine days in Spain: three in Barcelona, two in Bilbao and Rioja, two in San Sebastián, and two in Madrid, with a day trip to Toledo. We were in Spain from April 19 to 28. I believe we were there before the height of the tourist season, so I feel it may have been less crowded, which was great for us. It was a great vacation!

The Zicasso agent and her team of professionals provided top-notch service and addressed all our questions and concerns prior to us making the decision to go with this company, leading up to our departure, and during the trip itself. I told our agent in a personal email that if I could put her company's services to song, it would be "Simply the best… Better than all the rest”.
