Sydney – Arrive in Sydney and Spend the Remaining Day at your Leisure

Sydney is Australia’s oldest and largest city. It glows with the fantastic allure of the harbor, which is decorated with billowing white sails of the renowned Opera House and the graceful archway of the Sydney Harbour Bridge. Your flight will land at Sydney International Airport where your private transfer greets you upon arrival. Gold-sand beaches line the city’s periphery with the Bondi to Coogee Coastal Walk providing an easy path for strolling or cycling alongside the preserved natural beauty of surf, rugged coast, and lush foliage.

The old neighborhood of The Rocks stands on a tongue that protrudes into the harbor, and it hosts the foundations of the oldest European settlement in the country. More than 100 heritage sites and buildings wind around a network of old cobbled lanes such as Cadman’s Cottage. This building is the oldest surviving home in the city, which dates back to 1816. You have time to settle into the comforts of your luxury hotel in the heart of central Sydney. The remainder of the day will be yours to enjoy the charms of the bustling city.

Venture to Bondi Beach to visit the famous sands and wave breaks that captivate visitors and locals alike. You could also visit the Queen Victoria Building, also known as “QVB.” The original market hall was erected in the 1890s and topped with a fabulous central dome surrounded by 20 smaller domes to let in the natural coastal light. The sandstone colors of the walls resemble the beach sands leading to an interior gallery hosting 200 high-end shops, elegant stained-glass windows, and stunning mosaic floors.

Travel Review: Luxury Australia Tour, Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide, Port Douglas, Kangaroo Island, Great Barrier Reef, Opera House
Almost one thing that was most comforting to this 80 Solo Traveler was seeing her name on a sign at 5 of the 7 baggage claim areas. The Guide had rolled his car in the Outback with no means to get in touch with anyone. Sydney Transfer Guide in my opinion was just delinquent. These matters were shared with our travel consultant and or his staff. My 5.5 locations were Kangaroo Island and Sydney with the magnificent Opera House that inspired me to visit Australia. Port Douglas and the Reef area get 5 Stars because of the warm sunny weather,Tour Guide,an Aborigines who taught me about Bush Medicine and the kind helpful Australian people. Alice Springs was some what disappointing because of the rainy and cooler weather. I was all packed for much hotter temperatures...

Luxury Australia & New Zealand Trip Review, Sydney Opera House & Botanical Gardens, Queenstown Sky Trolley & Bird Sanctuary, Yacht
We were pleased with the accommodations and the flexibility. The flights there were seamless, Quantas is exceptional. Sadly the flights back were not. Personally, if I can avoid it, I’ll not fly United or Air New Zealand again. We also had difficulty getting into New Zealand as they haven’t worked out the kinks in their new visa program. The hotels were spot on and so convenient. The breakfast included made everything so much easier and less stressful in terms of finding a place and payment. The food, especially at Hamilton Island was amazing.  We were able to walk anywhere we needed so fewer cab/Uber fees. We did seem to do a lot of 5 star cuisine ( the food was nice but none of them were impressive or 5 star). By the end of our Australia leg we were pretty much over being on the water. The first yacht we did in Hamilton Island was amazing. Great staff, nice small group, excellent beach. The second one we did (cannot recall they name) was just to big a group, everything seemed impersonal and snorkeling was a pain because you kept literally running into other people. Sydney was great, and being in The Rocks is the way to go. We could walk most anywhere we wanted to go and if it was farther we were close to the ferries. Found a great little pizzaeria that had the best margarita pizza ever. Plus it was directly behind our hotel. I wish we would have had time to go to the big zoo and not just the smaller wildlife one, but I’m glad we made the choice we did. The Wildlife center, attached to the aquarium, only has native animals so that was cool. My biggest surprise was with Australian souvenirs nothing was made in Australia. Artwork was aboriginal but it was all outsourced. New Zealand was great as everything including manufacturing was from New Zealand. That, to me, is a real souvenir, not something made in Asia that says Australia. I can make something that says Australia, the whole point is to have something from there and contribute locally.

Travel Review: Amazing Australia Vacation, Sydney, Ayers Rock, Great Barrier Reef, Melbourne, Gahn Train to Alice Springs,...
Wow, what a vacation!!!!! Lisa was absolutely amazing! I wanted to have small group tours, and had very specific requests for our trip to Australia. We did several revisions of the itinerary, but when it was done, all my husband and I had to do was show up! Since we visited Melbourne,Cairns, Ayers Rock, Sydney and took the Gahn train (which only runs twice a week), it took a lot of coordination to make the trip work in our time frame of 16 days. Every tour company was phenomenal, especially Australian Wild Escapes and our tour guide Reiner who took us on The Great Ocean Road tour in Melbourne! We had multiple pickups between the trips to and from airports (four incountry flights),hotels, and our tours. Every pickup was right on time, with no issues anywhere. We loved going to Phillip Island the watch the march of the fairy penguins! Also, Victoria Market and the Tram car dinner in Melbourne are a must do! The Gahn train is also a must do! We boarded the train in Adelaide and took it to Alice Springs, an overnight trip. We had lunch, dinner and breakfast the following morning on the train (food was excellent). Both my husband and I are now considering taking other train trips as a result of it. We had to spend the night in Alice Springs, where we departed the Gahn, due to no available flights after our arrival. We were unaware that Australia has over a million feral camels, yes camels, which they used to use to transport supplies in the late 1800's (prior to the completion of the train from Adelaide to Darwin). One of the tours offered in Alice Springs is a camel ride, through Pyndan Camel Tracks. Marcus, the owner, spends over two years in training his camels that are used for the rides. The camels were very friendly, and we had a great time! My husband is a diver and he got to dive the Great Barrier Reef while I snorkeled. Quicksilver was the best as we only had about 70 people on board, instead of the typical 300. If you go to Ayers Rock, do not miss the Sounds of Silence dinner! We had appetizers and champagne while watching the sunset, then dinner in the dessert. We heard the diggeridoo played and had an astronomer, who brought a telescope, talk about the stars and constellations. The hotels were perfectly located, so we could walk everywhere we wanted to go, in both Melbourne and Sydney. All of our flights were on Quantas, who did a great job of flying on time! We had so much fun, I truly hated to come home. How did you find out about Zicasso? Stumbled onto it while trying to find someone who really knew how to travel Australia!

Luxury Australia Tour Review: Darwin, Alice Springs, Ayers Rock, Melbourne, Sydney, Adelaide, Mildura, National Parks
I was hoping for a trip of a lifetime to Australia but was hugely disappointed. I had 16 confirmed tours that was "confirmed" and paid for months in advance. Traveling from Darwin to Kakadu NP to Alice springs, Ayers Rock ( Uluru) Melbourne, Mildura, Mungo NP, Adelaide, Flinders NP, then on to finish in Sydney with many tours "confirmed" along the entire journey. Right at 50% of the tours were cancelled within about 1hour of pick up time due to "lack of participation" or  "weather" though it was for the most part just a drizzle or had already stopped raining hours before!! Paid approx. $12,000.00 and this is just the cost inside Australia! AND got back a whopping $543.00 for all the cancellations. Missing half of the experiences!!! A miserable experience! Literally found myself having to run from some tours, motels or airports to make the jammed together itinerary only to find the next one was cancelled or not enough time allotted to even do the tour. The fair thing to do would be to refund 50% of the cost!!
