Detailed Description

During this adventurous 14-day Belize tour, you will snorkel in Shark Ray Alley, find Mayan temples in the jungle, explore nature reserves, and search for rare wildlife. Every day can be relaxing, even if it involves trekking to a Mayan temple, swimming at Rio On Falls, and canoeing through Barton Creek Cave. Draped along the Caribbean Sea, this small country is easy to navigate and has a vast range of highlights to discover. Handcrafted for explorers and curious minds, this two-week tour will allow you to discover the best of Belize. This tour will also spit your time between the white-sand cayes, the lush interior, and the southern coastline.

Your tour will begin at the best-known of Belize’s destinations, Ambergris Caye. Surrounded by Caribbean waters and part of a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, this white sandy base quickly introduces the tranquility of the country. You can bask in the laid-back island life, snorkel in Hol Chan Marine Reserve and the Shark Ray Alley, and explore the Great Blue Hole. In the evenings, you can relax at your lodge and look out over the Caribbean.

You will then travel to San Ignacio via a combination of water-taxi and forest roads. Your days here will be all about the interior. Here, you try out cave-tubing, canoeing, and hiking in Mountain Pine Ridge Nature Reserve, and exploring the Mayan site of Xunantunich. During your time here, you will be surrounded by forest and  immersed in the local life. You will spend the next day in Guatemala, where you can explore the Tikal ruins in the afternoon before returning to them for a temple sunrise the following day.

After returning to Belize, you will spend your final few nights in Placencia, which is a coastal destination of luxury developments and beautiful beaches. You can spend a day diving or snorkeling around Gladden Split for a spectacular experience. You can also spend an afternoon on Monkey River and a morning in Cockscomb Basin Wildlife Sanctuary, which is home to jaguars and other rare creatures.

Belize Trip Review: 9 Days

Zicasso’s travel agency was amazing. The hotel in San Pedro was terrible! We would not recommend anyone go there. The staff was rude, mold in the room, exposed nails in the floor, and terrible service at the restaurant. The dive staff was amazing, the only positive. The lodge in Cristo Rey was amazing, with great staff, location, clean, and friendly. I can't say enough good things about that place!

However, this new site and portal Zicasso is using for communication is not user friendly, and also has the wrong information. My trip to Belize was March 18–26, and your site says my trip was March 8–16. It is a bit confusing when I receive emails with the wrong dates. I have booked four big trips through Zicasso, and every experience with a new trip seems to be getting worse and worse.

From the minute I spoke with Zicasso’s travel agent, I knew she would be the right agent for my family! She was completely understanding of our needs, which wasn't easy, given there were three generations on the trip and five children!

We needed to go between Christmas and New Year’s, of course, the busiest time, but she understood the assignment and worked over the weekend to make sure we got into the best possible places, both in the jungle and in San Pedro.

She handled my and my sister's multitude of questions with grace, professionalism, and understanding. She was thorough and organized. The excursions were all top-notch and exactly as described. She and her husband were at our beck and call the whole trip. I wouldn't choose anyone else for going to Belize!
