A very high standard of private tours and five-star luxury accommodations are provided throughout this 11-day trip, which will begin in the country’s famous capital of Beijing. During your four-night stay in this historical city, you will visit renowned landmarks such as Tiananmen Square - the largest city square in the world, and steeped in political history – this is where Mao Zedong asserted the beginning of the People’s Republic of China. Visit the significant areas surrounding the square, including the enchantingly beautiful imperial palace, the Forbidden City. Not to mention the Temple of Heaven and Summer Palace – which are also of breath-taking imperial beauty.
Weave your way in and around the streets of Beijing, visiting the local markets that offer an incredible variety of food, jewelry, clothes and a wide selection of other spectacular goods. Get a taste of the beautiful and bizarre Peking Opera Performance, which includes dance, acrobatics, music and mime. A one-day excursion to the Great Wall of China will give you a chance to move out of the city and experience a fascinating feature of the world.
Visit the stunning Lijiang of Yunnan Province – a charmingly scenic city encompassing a beautifully historical old town. There are breath-taking parks and monasteries to be admired on the outskirts, which sit closer to the nearby picturesque snow mountains. Besides its scenic beauty, Lijiang is renowned for being among the most ethnically diverse places in China – therefore, you will be able to experience a variety of ethnic minority cultures during your stay, including a spectacular Naxi Musical Concert.
Explore the city of Hangzhou, located in Zhejiang Province. Take a cruise down the quaint West Lake – surrounded by picture-perfect gardens, pagodas, and temples – all of which you will have the opportunity to experience. Visit the wonderfully scenic Longjing tea fields, home of China’s most famous green tea. The town is renowned for its 104 bridges, which connect the nine waterways and eight areas together.
The trip will conclude in one of the world’s most exciting cities: Shanghai. Stroll along the Riverfront Bund, which possesses an array of historical foreign buildings and lies adjacent to the spectacular skyscrapers of the city. This travel agent planned our 3 week trip to explore China for our party of four. We started in Beijing and walked on the Great Wall, learned much about Tiananmen Square and the Forbidden City, went to Xian for the Terracotta Warriors, to Chengdu for the Pandas, Hangzhou and Tunxi, then a hike up the Huangshan Mountain; Shanghai and the Shanghai Tower, Guilin for the amazing countryside and rice terraces, Shenzhen to visit our nephew and Hong Kong as the finale. Transportation, guides, accommodations were wonderful and effortless for us. In a land of millions of people and many tourists, the guides slid through the crowds and found places to explore that were not as crowded as others.
Our travel company helped us coordinate visas, travel insurance, and provided tipping and shopping guidance. Any small concern (and they were minimal) were met with a smile and addressed. They even sent a replacement van up Longji Mountain.
I would highly recommend the travel company for your China tour.

The trip to China my that husband and I took this year was amazing and memorable. We visited five cities in 12 days: Beijing, Xi’an, Chengdu, Guilin, and Shanghai.
All of the guides were great, professional, knowledgeable, open to answering our questions, and willing to accommodate us.
I’m a planner, so having most of the day mapped out with what we were doing was exactly as expected, with some free time in the evenings.
The transfers between cities, at the airport, or on the train were very smooth, with no issues.
The only thing I would recommend is for Zicasso’s tour company to work with us in obtaining the Chinese visa versus having to find a third party on our own. Overall, we would highly recommend their services.

We were taken to wonderful sights; the value for money was good but not great (we had requested Deluxe everything - more on that later); local guides were unfailingly prompt, punctual and polite; English proficiency of guides was generally good although heavy accents made understanding a chore; private transportation was clean and efficient; the food was generally vile except for the breakfasts in the hotel which tended toward Westernized fare and sustained us for the day. The USA staff of this China tour company were pleasant and helpful.

We went to some of the big name places, but we also went to some places off the beaten path that we would never have thought of on our own (Lijiang, Kunming). Russ really helped us put together an amazing tour. More experienced China hands have been impressed (and some of them a bit jealous) at the places that we went. We did a combination of an individual tour and time on our own, which worked extremely well. Everything the travel company organized was executed flawlessly, (with the exception of one tour guide who got upset that we weren't going to spend more money with him- but he only was in one airport transfer, so it wasn't a big deal).

Our travel agent planned a great itinerary of China highlights in Beijing, Xi'an, Shanghai, and Hangzhou. Having a personal driver and guide in each city was key. We had a lot of interesting discussions with our guides and really learned a lot about the country and local areas through them. All the guides were extremely knowledgeable and professional. We didn't have to worry about any of the logistics like traffic, directions, time required to get places, bringing umbrellas, etc. They made adjustments along the way to accommodate our interests and schedule (due to jet lag).
