My adult son and I had a fantastic time in Costa Rica with the travel company. It began with our travel agent in Boston. I explained to him the type of trip I wanted and he was able to come up with a 12 day itinerary for us. He sent us a detailed description of what we were to experience and he was able to accommodate some extra things that I wanted to do. Two days before the trip, I was sent an app so I could check my daily schedule on my phone. When we arrived at the airport in Costa Rica, someone was waiting for us and took us directly through our hotel. The entire trip felt very well scheduled. We went with a group of people to Tortuguero for three days and had a fantastic experience. All tours and food were included there. From there on, we had a private driver and he was very knowledgeable and flexible throughout our trip. We loved having a private driver. We then went to the Arenal Volcano area and had a wonderful time. The hotel was fantastic with an amazing view of the volcano from our room. We enjoyed this hotel! Every guest had a private casita and the grounds were quite beautiful. From then we traveled to Monteverde and had an exciting time in Selvatura which is a nature park with suspension bridges and ziplining. From there, we went to the Pacific coast and visited Manual Antonio National Park. We saw tons of animals and at the end of the tour, we went to one of the beaches in the park. From there we went ATV riding, catamaran, night hikes, etc.... Our contact was very welcoming to us and she was always available by phone if I had any questions. This is a great tour company and they took care of us very well. I would love to go again!

From their first response to our enquiry, we had confidence that this travel agency had understood what we were looking for, from our trip to Costa Rica. They worked with us to fine-tune our itinerary and hotel choices, and made valuable suggestions when we were unsure of the best options. They responded promptly to all of our emails and phone calls before we left England, and were equally available throughout our time on Costa Rica. When they say that they are contactable 24/7, they really mean it.
On arrival in Costa Rica, we were met by the co-owner and his wife as well as our driver - this was a truly personal touch and showed their commitment to looking after us. They kept in contact throughout our trip - for example, speaking to us during internal transfers between the different places we visited. We felt confident that our travel agency would be there to solve any problems that may arise, and as with any extended trip, we did have a couple of problems. When we both picked up local virus, our travel agency arranged for the hotel to take us to a local clinic for treatment.
They offered an outstanding service when we missed an internal flight, due to heavy traffic, by arranging a private charter flight to ensure that we could reach our next destination. We were extremely happy with the standard of all of the vehicles and drivers that our travel agency used and felt completely safe on the roads. We enjoyed all of our destinations and the accommodation was excellent (with only one exception: our cloud forest lodge in the Bajos del Toro area which was very cold at night, as there was no heating. It really needed some).
In summary, this company are the best agents that we have ever used and we have no reservation in recommending them most highly.

This year we decided to give each other a trip to Costa Rica as our Christmas gift. I mentioned to our travel agent that we enjoy photography and want to shoot birds and animals in the natural habitat. We really did not want waterfalls since we were at Victoria Falls a month ago.
Our agents greeted us at the San Jose Airport and gave us a Christmas gift and travel documents. Our driver was knowledgable and spoke English very well. He drove us to Arenal Volcano area. We were lucky to see the top of the volcano. The hotel had beautiful views, hot volcano heated pools, large suite with a hot tube viewing the volcano, delicious food and good, friendly service.
The Canoe Adventure was our favorite tour in Costa Rica. Our guides took the time to help us get great shots of the sloth, crocodiles, birds, bats, monkeys and iguanas. After the rafting trip on the Peno Blanco River, we had a snack of tortillas, cheese, plantains and coffee.
At night we had an Ecoterra guided night adventure which poured down rain so we did not see much. The homemade meal was ok.
The next morning at 5:20 am we went bird watching adventure which was a wash out. Just rained so we did not see many birds. Very disappointing since we got up so early.
Our driver picked us up and drove us to Bajos del Toro area to our lodge and spa. Even though he has broken English, he is a funny man who enjoys sharing the Costa Rica life with his clients. The lodge and property were beautiful and staff was very friendly. We enjoyed the outside hot tube, large cabin and snack time. We were disappointed that the chicken and beef were tough, trout was over cooked and not much on the farm to table menu that we liked.
Our guide took us on a guided hike to the waterfalls which was ok. Later that day I took the private guided Cultural Adventure with another guide which was ok.
We liked the Lodge and property but we felt it was not worth the cost compared to the other towns we visited in Costs Rica. We would have liked to spend time at the Corcovado national parks taking pictures of wildlife/Macaw birds.

From the planning process through the trip home our travel company was there for us. They planned a spectacular itinerary, with input from us, and provided timely transportation to and from our various destinations within Costa Rica. They met us at the airport in San Jose and took us back at the end of our journey, with personalized contact and personable guides and drivers. I had not traveled in Costa Rica but have traveled extensively and have never had better care. We traveled to Tortuguero, Arenal, the cloud forest by Poas, Manual Antonio and Corcovado. Two and a half weeks of heaven. Anyone thinking of Costa Rica should go and they should use this travel company for a worry free vacation. Thank you!!

I've worked through Zicasso for several years on multiple itineraries, including four just this summer, and I think I have to rank this travel agency as one of the best companies I've had the pleasure to experience.
Muchísimas gracias to Sylvia, my travel consultant, who did a superb job from start to finish. She has a wonderfully charismatic personality that made our discussions over the phone, email, and WhatsApp a pleasure and effortless. When deciding between the two bidding companies, I was ultimately swayed by Sylvia due to several factors.
First, Sylvia's planning conveyed original, authentic ideas that seemed genuinely tailored to match my personality and interests, not just some off-the-rack itinerary hurled at every customer. As a result, I ended up with an awesome scenic drive down the Pacific Coast straight from the airport to Uvita, where I got to fulfill a goal of seeing whales. After that, I got to travel to the Osa Peninsula where I had unbelievable luck in spotting dozens of species of flora and fauna, including two up-close encounters with tapirs (one in the forest and one, to everyone's astonished glee, inside my ecolodge!).
Second, Sylvia was fully transparent and honest in the advice she gave, even at the risk of her sale. When I commented that I wanted to travel to an ecolodge, but was fearful of spiders potentially entering my room, she immediately adopted the tone of a wise and straightforward auntie and told me that she couldn't guarantee that wouldn't happen and that such things were just a reality in tropical places like Costa Rica. But she also put the situation in context, explained how rare it was, the conditions under which it might happen, and steps I could take to protect myself just in case. She also frequently referenced her personal experiences and those of her niece when recommending ecolodges and describing the various places I expressed interest in traveling to. The fact that she herself had done what I sought to do lent her advice great credibility.
All of our communication was smooth and aside from a little hiccup with payment (we experienced a technical issue with their bank's transfer system), all planning and prep went well.
Once on the ground, everything fell into place. I was greeted at the airport by my driver and driven to Uvita in a huge van with passenger windows as big as the windshield, which provided me with unobstructed views of the rolling green mountains and glistening sea along the way. My stays in Uvita and Drake Bay provided me the close encounters with nature I sought, along with effortless transportation between them by car, boat, and (tiny) airplane. My adventure was capped off by my guide, who provided me with a personal afternoon tour of San Jose. Overall, this was one of my better trips and best experiences through Zicasso.
