Detailed Description

Croatia is a romantic destination even if you travel solo as it is impossible not to be seduced by the cobbled squares and walled cities, the old-world vineyards and the island escapes. Croatia is obviously even more romantic when the vacation is for two as the landscape provides a seductive setting for ardor to thrive. With a fairytale castle, a Venetian town, waterfall landscapes and a sea organ providing the meditative lullaby, there really is not much you could possibly need. But then add in konoba dining, a private sunset sea kayaking, and lost island adventure and every destination soon takes you further into the country’s spell with each day something different for these two weeks of intimacy and romance.

Handcrafted to maximize the country’s allure, this unique route takes you from Zagreb to Dubrovnik. The capital city is famous for its Zagreb heart, a biscuit crafted by artisans that is as good as a red rose on a Shakespearean balcony. Spend your first full day touring the city in an old-timer car, and then head out to Trakoscan Castle and Varazdin the following day. The Istrian Peninsula has a unique Venetian persuasion, not to mention its own ability to surprise. You will spend a day amid the contrasting civilizations by walking Pula and Rovinj, plus some time spent in the forests to hunt for truffles and find out more about Istria’s artisanal history.

Plitvice Lakes National Park is a glorious place for a private walk, with paths leading you through thick forests to tumbling waterfalls and surreal lakes. On the way as you journey to Zadar, a lesser-known coastal city that’s perfect for blending into local Croatian life and worthy of a stop. Trogir is another mesmerizing town from the past while your hotel in Split is just two corners away from Diocletian’s Palace. With several nights in Split, you can relax along the promenade, spend a day on the island of Hvar, and fully immerse yourself in the Dalmatian atmosphere as it only takes a few footsteps in Hvar’s Stari Grad to fall head over heels with the island.

Pluck your own oysters for breakfast the next morning, and then wash the salty taste down at a historical winery. Keep tasting wine on your way down the coast to Dubrovnik where you will spend the final nights of your tour in a stunning little guesthouse within the Old Town. If Croatia is the ultimate seducer, then Dubrovnik is the country’s most passionate trick as the Old Town is only more romantic as wrought-iron lanterns illuminate the streets after dusk. One day is dedicated to the city, while the next day will bring you the rural Konavle region with your last including a private sunset sea kayaking around the city walls. Your two weeks will soon be over, but the yearning for Croatia will continue for years after you return home as this is a country that indelibly inscribes itself on your memory.

Travel Review: Croatia Tour, Dubrovnik, Hvar, Split, Trogir, Zadar, Krka National Park, Rovinj, Zagreb, Wine Tasting, Walking Tour
Our Croatia trip was excellent. We enjoyed all the locations in our itinerary (Dubrovnik, Hvar, Split, Trogir, Zadar, Krka National Park, Plitvicka Lakes National Park, Rovinj, Zagreb), our walking tours with our private guides, all the wine tastings, and especially our food dinners and tastings. Our drivers to tastings, towns, and airports were all great and on time for our pickups.

Review: Luxury Tour of Croatia, Montenegro, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Istria, Pula, Zadar, Rovinj, Ston, Split, Dubrovnik

We had a time constraint for our holiday in Croatia but yet wanted to cover as much of Croatia as possible. We asked for our agent's suggestions. Our agent put together a great itinerary/route which allowed us to appreciate the beauty and food of the Istria contryside of Rovinj and Pula and made excellent suggestions of where to stop to explore Zadar and Ston as we made our journey down on the Adriatic coast to Split and onwards to Dubrovnik. The guide cum driver provided by the company was patient and outstanding as he drove us out of Zagreb to Rovinj and Pula and used his initiative to drive us along the seaside coastline which is so beautiful though it took us a longer time to reach Plitvice Lakes.

The boutique hotels which were selected in all the old part of the towns of Rovinj,Split and Dubrovnik were excellent choices as they were smallish and had great personal service with excellent breakfast and all with a great history to the hotels. The 2 native guides provided for the  historic tour of Split and in Dubrovnik were par excellent too and we appreciated their great passion and love for their cities which they shared with us on the history, the war and the cultural aspects of their respective towns.

Our agent also gave us a lot of recommendations on  choices for restaurants and wines along the way.  We got to sample some of them in the places we went to. Our own regret is that wished we had more time to stay a bit longer in Rovinj and Plitvice lakes to explore them in greater depth.

We have no hesitation in making a recommendation of this agent's services to others and to our friends.

Croatia Family Vacation Review: Zadar, Split, Dubrovnik, Hvar, Plitvice Lakes, Krka National Park, Oyster Farm, Private Tour

We had a fantastic trip with the Zicasso travel company. They helped us plan the perfect itinerary for our family (two adults and three kids aged 17, 14, and 10). They listened to our desires for an active family vacation and went above and beyond with all of the details!

We spent two full weeks in Croatia and had so many memorable and beautiful experiences. They set up friendly, knowledgeable drivers in a comfortable air-conditioned van. The accommodations they booked were all fantastic, from boutique hotels in the middle of the old towns in Zadar and Split to larger resort hotels in Hvar and Dubrovnik.

Our favorite experiences were ones we would have never found on our own, including a private biking tour and dinner at a restaurant in old town Hvar, a boat ride to Trogir, and the Blue Lagoon out of Split, with a stop at the most marvelous island for the most impressive and fancy lunch I've ever had. Other highlights were a history and gastronomy tour in Split; a biking tour outside of Dubrovnik, followed by a cooking class and amazing home-cooked meal at a family home; a kayaking tour out of Hvar; a private boat tour to the Blue Cave, with snorkeling; and a visit to Mali Ston to enjoy fresh oysters on the boat of the oyster farm owner, who explained how they caught the oysters and treated us to the freshest oysters and mussels we've ever had!

Our contact from the travel agency was always very quick to answer questions before and during the trip.

We loved Croatia – the history is amazing, the people are friendly, the food is great, the architecture is stunning, the national parks are gorgeous, and there is so much to do and experience. Everywhere we went, we felt 100% safe, and everything was very clean. The Adriatic Sea has crystal-clear, beautiful water.

You absolutely must visit Plitvice Lakes (stunning waterfalls and lake) and Krka National Park if you have time. It is beautiful, less crowded than Plitvice, and teeming with frogs, which my boys loved finding.

Split was my absolute favorite city. It’s amazing how they have incorporated newer architecture among the centuries-old buildings for an amazing old-town experience. Dubrovnik has stunning ancient walls and fortresses, Zadar is beautiful and has a great waterfront promenade, and Hvar is a vibrant and fun beach town.

The travel agency always set us up with local guides and drivers who really added to our experience. We loved having private tours instead of being with a huge group!

I'm so glad we booked through them and would encourage others to do the same!

Croatia, Slovenia Vacation Review: Rovinj, Dubrovnik, Zadar, Split, Hvar, Trogir, Ston, Private Tour, 9-Day Trip

My husband and I had a private nine-day tour of Croatia and Slovenia designed by the Zicasso tour operator.

We were driven from Rovinj to Dubrovnik, with stops in Zadar, Split, Hvar, Trogir, Plitvice Lakes National Park, and Ston. We also spent time in Ljubljana, Slovenia. We were picked up in Padova, where we were staying, and returned there. Everything was perfect, from the initial planning to the completion of our tour.

The travel agent drew up the itinerary, arranged for our driver/guide, booked the hotels, scheduled city guides, made restaurant reservations, and purchased all entrance tickets. Our private driver/guide was an excellent driver who gave intelligent and interesting information throughout the trip. He was very knowledgeable. In addition, he made sure we were well taken care of, from handling our luggage to making sure we were on time for all events. He was also fun and easy to be around. We always felt we were in good hands.

We could not have had a better trip. We highly recommend this travel company and our driver/guide.

Review: Tour of Croatia & Montenegro, Zagreb, Zadar, Trojir, Hvar, Split, Plitvice Lakes National Park, Catamaran Cruise

Our trip to Croatia was fabulous...Our agent did a great job of working with us, making recommendations, and then setting up exactly what we wanted.  The trip started in Zagreb and then we traveled west to Plitvice National Park and onto Zadar.  From Zadar we went to Trogir, Split and then by catamaran to Hvar.  From Hvar we went by catamaran again to Dubrovnik where we stayed two nites.  At every stop we stayed at exceptionally nice and comfortable hotels...our guides along the way were exceptional in every case...with special kudos to our guides in Zagreb, Zadar and Trogir.  Overall a very memorable and enjoyable week of travel thru Croatia.

Travel Review: Tour of Croatia & Montenegro, Dubrovnik, Zagreb, Split, Trogir, Plitvice Lakes National Park, Lokrum

The Plitvice Lakes National Park was spectacular.  We enjoyed the tour of Split/Trogir.  The wine tasting tour and dinner on Hvar were also highlights.  The cable car ride and the walk around the top of the walls provided a different perspective of the Old Town in Dubrovnik and were well worth it.  Our tour to Montenegro was very interesting and a day well spent.
