Hurghada – Tranquility Along the Red Sea

The typical Egyptian tour starts amongst the baffling bustle of Cairo, rushes around the famous attractions, and only gives you time to breathe when finishing at a Red Sea resort. However, despite the preconceptions and busy Cairo, this is actually a very relaxed country. Time moves slowly, with an air of serenity reflecting its Saharan location and tradition. The Red Sea is the perfect place to slow down and settle into a tranquil ambiance. Private beaches stretch out for long distances, and they’re hardly marked by footprints. Private suites are shaded by palm trees, and exotic colors merge along the panorama. Start in the Red Sea, and you’ll be fully energized for the journey through antiquity, helping you take in the exquisite details that most will overlook. After changing planes at Cairo International Airport, you fly to Hurghada and head straight to your fabulous luxury accommodation by the sea, where there’s no need for shoes.

Detailed Description

Egypt dazzles from all angles. Sparkling reefs stretch out from remote, untouched beaches. Ancient cities hide in the desert, beneath a backdrop of sandstone mountains. Spectacular tombs and temples reveal the grandeur of history, the world’s most astonishing monuments gathering on an improbable scale. Pyramids rise evocatively, villages cling to the Nile, and traditional sailboats pass lush garden islands. This luxury vacation reveals antiquities and the spectacular wonders of ancient Egypt. But it also immerses you in narratives of modernity, as seen in desert oases, city squares, and the enthusiasm of today.

This classic luxury tour brings the dazzling angles together. Spend seven days cruising along the Nile in the most opulent of its vessels, enjoying spa treatments and contemporary design while drifting past the odes to history. Explore famous monuments like the Valley of the Kings and Great Pyramid of Giza, but avoid the tour buses and absorb the narratives from private Egyptologist guides. Visiting attractions like the Temple of Horus and Tombs of Nobles is one thing. Being alone in these marvels of history is quite another, celebrating the atmosphere of past centuries and giving you time to explore the captivating details.

Over two weeks, you piece together both the famous and lesser-visited attractions. Four nights at a Red Sea resort is the standard way to finish an Egypt tour. However, it’s more salubrious as a way to start your journey. Relax on the beaches, settle into the country’s rhythm, explore exotic reefs, and fully prepare yourself for the journey through history. Egypt shouldn’t be a mad sightseeing rush. It’s a country to be savored, and succumbing to the Red Sea ambiance is the perfect way to begin the journey.

After a few days of relaxation, you drive to Luxor and spend the first of your nights on the lavish Oberoi Zahra Nile. Spend three days docked amongst the world’s greatest open-air museum, enjoying intimate tours through the attractions of the East Bank and West Bank. Three nights gives you ample time, allowing you to focus on the elaborate details, not just the mind-boggling scale of Luxor. Admire the life along the riverbanks as you cruise south, where three-millennia-old monuments juxtapose traditional Nubian villages and lush island gardens. Disembark and cruise in a felucca sailboat, discover the cult of the crocodile god, and lose yourself in the serene atmosphere of Aswan.

By the end of the itinerary, you’ll be fully attuned to the culture and lifestyles of Egypt, which makes arriving in Cairo far less daunting. Your hotel overlooks the Great Pyramid of Giza, and a private guide unravels the colorful complexities of this famous capital. Of course, you’ll see the essentials, like the Tutankhamen exhibit and the Sphinx. But there’s so much more. See the first ever pyramid, enjoy exclusive evening access to Bayt Al-Suhaymi, discuss modern Egypt at Tahrir Square, and visit everything from vibrant bazaars to millennia-old Islamic alleyways.

Egypt Luxury Tour Review: Cairo, Aswan, Luxor, Hurghada, Tombs & Pyramids, Nile River, 2-Week Trip

If there was a 6-star review this Egypt Tour Company would surely get it. Our travel planner and his people on the ground in Cairo, Aswan, Luxor and Hurghada made this trip seamless. Even with the speed bumps that Covid-19 laid in front of us our trip was super easy. We started planning this adventure a year ago. I can't imagine doing it without the expertise that our travel planner brought to the table. We felt 100% safe the entire journey. We visited 20+ world-class archeological sites, many were World Heritage Sites. The tickets, private transportation and a trained Egyptologist were provided by our travel company the entire trip. The hotels were fantastic. The experience was incredible.

Our travel planner customized our trip so we could scuba dive a few days in the Red Sea at the end of the tour. His man in Hurghada took care of getting us the necessary documents for our Covid test required to get back into the US. Our departure flight left Cairo at 2AM and his man on the ground was with us to make sure we breezed through customs and everything was in order. You just can't appreciate that kind of service until you see it in action. Special thanks to our guides in Cairo and in Luxor & Aswan. And our guide who met us at the beginning of our adventure and was there at the end (2AM) in the Cairo airport. You made this trip absolutely incredible. Thank you!

Egypt, Jordan Luxury Vacation Review: Aswan, Luxor, Cairo, Abu Simbel, Petra, Valley of the Kings, Nile River, Giza Pyramids

Certain experiences leave an indelible imprint on our memories, and our 17-day private tour through Jordan and Egypt is poised to be one such experience. Our journey, meticulously crafted by our travel agency, a Cairo-based tour operator we found via Zicasso, unfolded into an exciting adventure that transcended temporal boundaries. This journey gave us the liberty to delve into the ancient lands, their rich civilizations, and grand dynasties at our leisure, allowing us to fully immerse ourselves in every mesmerizing moment. Our venture to Jordan and the land of the pharaohs was nothing short of a truly wonderful experience.

If Petra, the mesmerizing ancient city carved into the rose-red cliffs, left us awe-struck, then Karak Castle, the crusader fortress with its dungeons and secret passages, evoked a sense of timeless intrigue. The castle’s rugged stone walls whispered tales of a storied past, while bathing in the salty waters of the Dead Sea was an epic experience.

Cairo is the dominant center of lower Egypt. It is a city with over 1,000 years of history that is an enigmatic metropolis where the past and present coexist, creating a captivating tapestry of culture and heritage. Lose yourself in the labyrinthine alleys of the 700-year-old Khan El-Khalili Bazaar and ascend to the Saladin Citadel, where you’ll marvel at the magnificent Muhammad Ali Mosque, an architectural mastery, with its alabaster domes reaching towards the sky. Alternatively, embark on an evening cruise along the majestic Nile River, where you’ll discover a skyline full of 20th-century skyscrapers juxtaposed against timeless minarets. And if you venture just a few miles southwest of the city, against the backdrop of the desert, you’ll come face to face with the 4,500-year-old Giza pyramids, guardians of the pharaohs’ mysteries.

Upper Egypt is also steeped in beauty, history, and ancient wonders. From the southern reaches of the country to Luxor and beyond, majestic temples and relics of the pharaohs and ancient Egyptian civilization adorn the banks of the Nile River. These monuments stand sentinel along the river and their weathered stones tell stories of grandeur, rituals, and the eternal quest for immortality. That is why you cannot visit Egypt and not see Upper Egypt. You cannot visit Upper Egypt without seeing the temples of Abu Simbel, Kom Ombo, Edfu, or Philae. Each one of these temples has its mythical origin and unique bond with the divine.

Luxor remains the apex of our Egypt trip. It is an archeological treasure trove where temples, tombs, and monuments reveal the art, rituals, and beliefs of ancient Egypt. If you are visiting Luxor and desire to see its glorious past, you should plan to visit at least the following sites: the Valley of the Kings, where the pharaohs’ tombs are decorated with beautiful hieroglyphs that tell stories of transition to the afterlife; the temple of Hatshepsut, a breathtaking monument with its magnificent terraces and towering columns that stands as a testament to the ingenuity of ancient Egypt; or the majestic and enduring two-mile-long avenue of the sphinxes that connects two of the most iconic temples in Luxor and probably all of Egypt – the graceful and grand Temple of Luxor and the colossal architectural marvel of the great Temple of Karnak.

If you are interested in learning more about what made our journey extraordinarily delightful and unforgettable, read the testimonial below. These instances exemplify the exceptional service provided by our tour operators and reaffirm our decision to engage them on our next adventure in this part of the world.

Tour Co-ordinator: During the planning phase of our trip, we were fortunate to collaborate with our tour co-ordinator. He proved to be a true asset. Attentive to our preferences, he tailored itineraries and guaranteed our comfort at every stage of the journey. His commitment to our satisfaction was so profound that he made adjustments while we were in Egypt, ensuring our experience was thoroughly enjoyable.

Seamless Organization: While Cairo’s traffic may resemble “organized chaos”, our travel agents operate with the precision of a finely tuned machine. Everything proceeded without a hitch, from the instant we touched down in Amman or Cairo. They had every minutia thoughtfully orchestrated. Transfers, visas, and logistics were executed flawlessly, enabling us to concentrate solely on relishing our vacation. The journey was hassle-free, affording us abundant time and energy to immerse ourselves in the profound history and awe-inspiring landscapes.

Hotels: Our accommodations were in iconic hotels that epitomized luxury. These hotels were strategically located either along the banks of the majestic Nile River or, as in Aswan, on Elephantine Island, nestled in the heart of the Nile. Each location offered us a breathtaking view of the enchanting Nile River, often including the sunrise or sunset, and serving as delightful reminders of our truly magical vacation. After days of exploration, our hotels felt like tranquil oases of comfort.

Tour Guides: Throughout our journey, our agents consistently delivered exceptional service. Each day, we enjoyed the comfort of a spacious air-conditioned vehicle, including an experienced driver and an Egyptologist or a historian. Whether we were exploring the ancient wonders of Petra, standing in awe on the iconic Giza Plateau in Cairo, immersing ourselves in the vibrant city of Alexandria, or traversing the mystical landscapes of Upper Egypt, our drivers maintained impeccable vehicle cleanliness.

Our guides in Jordan, Lower Egypt, and Upper Egypt were more than courteous and engaging professionals; they were true storytellers. With a great sense of humor and a deep understanding of history, they masterfully wove together historical facts and gripping narratives about the Nabataean civilization, Ancient Egypt, and the pharaohs’ dynasties. Their fascinating storytelling made our trip informative and enjoyable.

Luxury Trip to Egypt Travel Review: Nile River Cruise, Egyptian Museum, Wadi al Hitan, Waterfalls, Pottery, Local Cuisine & Culture
The travel company helped us plan an awe-inspiring trip to Egypt.  Kristy, the owner, was a wonderful partner in working with our complicated schedule, as we completed three weeks in Greece and Turkey and added Egypt as a last leg.  Our dates and plans were further complicated when our son joined us after a diving expedition in the Red Sea.  No matter — Kristy seamlessly interwove our trips and made sure that flights, transfers, porters, drivers and our local travel team in Egypt were in sync. When our airlines canceled our return flight home, she arranged our travel plans from Aswan, linked us up with an amazing foodie tour in Cairo, and found a return flight/hotel schedule that eliminated a 16-hour layover. The local team met us on time with professional drivers and porters.  They were eager to ensure that our trip was memorable and that whatever little wrinkles occurred were addressed immediately to our satisfaction. We spent two days in Cairo (the pyramids, Egyptian Museum and the Khan el-Khalili market) and then one day in Fayoum to see the Wadi el Rayan waterfalls, the Valley of the Whales and the inspiring Village of Tunis to see the pottery.  Worth the long ride through desert and again, we were some of the few tourists to make the trip.We spent one night in Luxor (really, could have used more time there as the luxury hotel was charming) with the West Bank, Karnak and Luxor Temples and an early morning hot air balloon on our plan.We spent the next five days on the Nile river cruise boat.  The staff was kind, the food wonderful, and the pace a pleasure.  We saw many larger boats zoom past and were so grateful we had chosen a slower, calmer way to see life on the Nile and meet some amazing people along the way.Our last stop was in Aswan, where we flew to Abu Simbel and returned to spend the rest of the day at the hotel off the Nile.

Travel Review: Tour of Jordan & Egypt, Cairo, Luxor, Amman, Petra, Valley of the Kings, Nile Cruise, Dead Sea, Hot Air Balloon Ride

The trip was memorable and well organized. Our hands were held every day of the trip from the time we arrived in Cairo until we departed in Amman. We saw amazing sites in Cairo, including the pyramids and the Egyptian museum, the cruise on the Nile from Aswan to Luxor was fabulous, with stops to see incredible temples and the pharaoh tombs in the Valley of the Kings as well as an incredible ballon ride. Jordan was also impressive, from the Roman ruins in Jerash to the ancient city of Petra along with enjoyable leisure activities including a day at a Dead Sea resort and a jeep ride in the desert. The hotels and cruise ship were all first-rate and our guides were all well-informed and enthusiastic. This travel agency offered all of this for an incredibly reasonable price, especially since we had our own private guides and drivers for most of our sight-seeing. We also were happy to support an Egypt-based travel company which benefited the people in the countries we visited.

Travel Review: Luxury Egypt Tour, Cairo, Luxor, Aswan, Abu Simbel, Nile River Cruise, Grand Egypt Museum, Pyramid Tours

I have traveled most of the U.S. - several countries in Europe and more recently Turkey, Africa and this last trip to Egypt.  So many people said I must be crazy.  Crazy like a fox huh?  BEST & MOST AMAZING TRIP YET!!  Now everyone is jealous that my brave cousin and I went.

Never was there a moment of concern.  Our accommodations were the most luxurious I've ever known.  A private guide and driver every step of the way to show us the amazing sights and experiences that Egypt has to offer.

We did Cairo and our hotel had a view of 2 of the Giza pyramids from our balcony at the most beautiful hotel ever seen.  We crawled inside pyramids & tombs, rode camels, explored the Cairo Grand Egyptian Museum with all of King Tut's beautiful treasures.  We shopped the grand bazaar and ate true Egyptian delights - not just hotel restaurant foods.

We flew to Luxor and explored this area - staying at the hotel with a room overlooking the Nile before boarding our 5 Star Nile Cruiser for several days of cruising the Nile.  Our stops along the way brought more temples and history as our guide was with us every step of the way.

Our cruise ended at Aswan with tours of the high dam and the Nubian Village and a final flight to Abu Simbel for the 2 prominent temples there before flying on to our beach resort at Hurghada.

Doesn't all this just make you want to book your trip today?  You will be AMAZED!!
