Travel Review: Italy & Switzerland, Milan, Lucerne, Florence, Rome, Interlaken

The trip was good and the travel company did their job well. I'm particularly pleased with their recommended hotel location in all 5 cities - Rome, Florence, Milan, Interlaken and Lucerne. The hotels are centrally located and provides easy access to most of the desired attractions.

However, improvement can be made if we are informed clearly that certain area of visit are really really near the hotel, and easily accesible by wheelchair so that transport may not be required.

To be precise, I've enquired about visiting Trastevere and were informed that we need transport arrangement to get there. Luckily the hotel staff in Rome gave us both directiions and restaurant recommendations as it's wonderfully near our  hotel and we managed to had lunch there with our wheelchair bound son.

Similarly our morning date with a chocolate facility in Interlaken was also very near the hotel of stay, hence the car is not required for that morning.

Perhaps more detail should be given so that travellers can make their own decision on the requirement of the car as I understand these constitute a big part of the cost when making the quotation for each customer's travel plans.

Travel Review: Anniversary Trip to Italy, Rome, Florence, Pisa, San Gimignano, Positano, Truffle Hunt, Cooking Class, Food Tour

Locations Visited: Venice, Verona, Florence, San Gimignano, Siena, Pienze, Rome, Pompeii, Positano

My husband and I planned this trip for our 10-year anniversary. I’m a person with high expectation and this travel agency exceeded all my expectations. The entire trip was dream.

We opted for personalized tours and transport for 95% of our trip. All of our drivers were wonderful. They arrived on time and made sure we made it to all of our destinations without issue. They had the contact information for the tour guides we were meeting. Upon arrival to our first hotel, a local cell phone and gift were given to us. Having the iPhone during our trip made any needed communication with our agent and his team a breeze. In addition, we used the phone apps for navigation throughout the cities we visited. We made a last-minute request for an additional private transport, and our agent was able to make it happen. We greatly appreciated their customer service.

We participated in a several unique experiences while in Italy. We went truffle hunting in Pienza, which was amazing. After, we were served a meal that highlighted truffles and the cheeses made locally. In addition, we did a cooking day in Rome. This was a private cooking class where we made pasta, several sauces, and appetizers. The one disappointment is that we never received the recipes from the chef (we were told by the chef that they would be emailed to us). However, this is a knock on the chef and not our travel agent. Once the class was done, we were served a meal in a private garden area. Lastly, we did a food walking tour in Rome. This was an amazing way to find local cuisine that we wouldn’t have known about otherwise. A wonderful experience.

All of our tour guides were excellent. They were knowledgeable, friendly, and familiar with the cities. We had one guide that really went into the details and reasons for expressions in the art. We didn’t care for that, but we didn’t specify that ahead of time or to the guide. It was wonderful seeing her excitement and passion for all of the amazing working works of art and sculpture that we saw.

Overall, I would highly recommend this travel agent and his team if you are traveling to Italy!! You will not be disappointed. We gave him our wish list of activities, accommodation preferences, etc. ahead of time and he made sure we got them all! Thank you for such a wonderful and memorable trip. If we are able to return to Italy, you will be hearing from us.

Italy Review, Florence, Gelato Making, Truffle Hunting, Cooking Class, Mother & Daughter Trip

The travel company was OK. The drivers were always there. The hotels were nice and in good locations, generally. We had guides in three cities. One of the guides was really terrific. The other two were knowledgable but didn't talk to my daughter (14 years old) with whom I was traveling and one of them was very difficult to understand because of her strong accent so we learn much those two days. We had agreed on some things we wanted to do in two of the cities and the travel company said they would include them in the tours but didn't. We had a few food-focused activities set up. Gelato making was excellent. A day in the market and cooking was just OK - the facilities were really nice but the food actually wasn't particularly good. The one bad activity was truffle hunting which didn't correspond at all to what the itinerary said it was and it was really just wine tasting which wasn't an ideal day for a 14 year old. In any event, I would not work with this company again. I would have been better off just using tripadvisor and booking the trip on my own.

Travel Review: Custom Italy Family Vacation - Highlights - Uffizi Gallery, Vatican Museums, Venice

We decided on the location and planned the trip to the three Italian cities of Venice, Florence and Rome only about a month before. Using this travel agency thru Zicasso was key to getting hotels with great locations, good tour guides, transfer arrangements and proper timing for touring of all the cities. The trip went very smoothly and we were able to focus on enjoying the trip.

France Vacation Review: Nice, Avignon, Provence, Cote d'Azur, Carcassonne, Food & Wine Tastings
The owner tried very hard to customize our trip and we were satisfied with his plan. Small group tours and all ground transportation were perfect. However, the 4 star hotels were somewhat disappointing- the locations were excellent but the 3 hotel rooms we had in the 3 destinations had significant deficiencies like a very noisey alleyway, a rock-hard mattress and a ground floor room with only a sheer drape next to the street. Overall, we really enjoyed Avignon and Nice very much and will have many fond memories.

Travel Review: Italy Anniversary Vacation, Rome, Venice, Florence, Doge's Palace, Vatican, Basilica San Marco, Opera Performance

This was our first European trip and my first time utilizing a travel agency.  This was an anniversary trip for me and my husband.  Our travel agent is ABSOLUTELY wonderful.  She's incredibly detailed and very friendly.  I asked a LOT of questions and she was patient, understanding, kind, and knowledgeable.  While it was very easy to work via email, she also made sure to have phone communication, to avoid any misunderstanding/miscommunication.

So for me, my trip definitely starts with our agent.  She worked off of my thoughts and added her wonderful insight into the area.  It's a valuable bonus that she has also enjoyed a trip to Italy and has firsthand experience with her proposed suggestions.  The whole trip was incredible and memorable.  Our tour guide selections were phenomenal!!! We would want to use all of them, all over again!  They were that great, informative, friendly, and enjoyable.  Our trip destination included Venice, Florence, and Rome.  Each location ended up spectacular for many different reasons.

In Venice - Our hotel had a great staff, was nice, and a very lovely anniversary surprise waiting for us when we arrived.  The food was ok but the customer service was wonderful.  We had a nice gondola ride and then a wonderful guided of Doge's Palace and the Basilica of San Marco.  I'm upset with not currently remembering our guides name because she was AMAZING!  We had an evening at an Opera which included a room movement experience. One I think everyone should try out.

In Florence - Our hotel was another nice selection.  I'd say the tinyness of the bathtub/odd place of the showerhead, was the worst part about the hotel.  Everything else about the selection was absolutely delightful...especially the location.  There wasn't a place we could go that didn't have "to die for" food in Florence.  Oh my goodness, that food and wine!  It's true, just ask for the house wine at any destination and you will NOT be disappointed.  Hilary also had restaurant reservations made for our trip.  The restaurant in Florence was La Giostra Restaurant...OOOHHHHH so wonderful!!!!  Don't miss out on this restaurant.  If we make it to Florence again, we'll be going to La Giostra again as well.  However, make sure you visit the countryside of Florence - there's nothing that compares to that specific experience.  We were out in Chianti and Siena with a home-cooked lunch at a family owned wine farm...amazing!

In Rome - Our hotel was good but probably a very unexpected slight less awe feeling than the other locations.  I couldn't really say why.  All-in-all it is a very nice hotel and the location is also wonderful.  Rome is absolutely amazing.  I just do not have the words to describe the complexity of Rome.  It is something that should be experienced firsthand.  The food in Rome is also amazing!  We had a food tour and a Vatican tour, both wonderful additions to the trip.  The one suggestion made on our itinerary that didn't pan out was a trip to the Piazza Testaccio (to visit the market).  On that specific day we went, which was going to be my morning shopping day plan (and was 25-35 minute walk in the opposite direction of our other plans) it wasn't open.  There wasn't one bit of a market scene to be seen.
