Parisian Chic

Paris has been the epicenter of world fashion since the 18th century, from women’s clothing down to men’s shoes. There has always been something fascinating and stylish about the city and those who live there. Your France tour begins with your arrival at Charles de Gaulle Airport where your private transfer is waiting. Inside the city, you notice the elegant wide avenues with shady trees lining the sidewalks. Public squares become charming gardens adding lushness to stone-paved streets. Opulent Italians style palazzos decorate the cityscape, most notably near the Champs Elysees.

The aroma of freshly baked macaroons and decadent hot chocolate drift out of Cafe Angelina. Audrey Hepburn, a classic fashion icon in her own right, would sit in the café and sip hot chocolate looking out to the Tuileries Gardens. Images of the Golden Triangle, the city’s high fashion shopping district connecting Avenue Marceau, the Champs Elysees, and Avenue Montaigne, swirl in through your thoughts. The beauty of the city personifies the chic designs to come. Your hotel is the embodiment of glamor, allowing you to settle in quickly and luxuriously to the city.

Detailed Description

A good fashion designer can take inspiration from anywhere, whether from a moment in history or an inspiring statue adorning a building they love in a city known for its style. Your 8-day guided fashion tour of Paris and Milan highlight the wonders of the fashion world. From Parisian streets flush with designer shops to hidden boutique stores offering one of a kind garments hidden in the cobblestone alleyways of Milan. Step behind the scenes in the fashion capitals of Europe for a full experience, beginning with your arrival in Paris.

One of our Paris tour operators will arrange a private transfer to escort you to your opulent hotel. Your hotel emanates the lushness for which the city is known. The following day, you have the morning to yourself, absorbing the local fashion of passersby near the blossoming flowers and trees in the Tuileries Gardens. Your guide meets you at the hotel, whisking you away to a private apartment for a personalized fashion show of Paris’s fashion-forward sensibilities, followed by a sensational dinner at a restaurant overlooking the River Seine.

After breakfast, your guide meets you, eager to spend the day consulting with you on hair and makeup at a glamorous salon. Then, enjoy a shopping spree along the high-fashion boutiques of Avenue Montaigne. Once again, your guide meets you in the lobby of your hotel to lead you into the outer neighborhood of Paris where you find the Ateliers Hermes. Continue to the Palais Galliera in the afternoon for an introduction into the opulent history of style.

The next morning, you venture by private jet to Milan, the commercial capital of Italy, where you settle into a luxurious hotel near the heart of the city. Your guide takes you into the Italian Alps to explore the inspiring landscapes around Lake Como, where Gianni Versace once lived. In the evening, you continue the glamor taking in an opera at Milan’s historic Opera House. The wonders of the fashion world continue with a guided tour of the Golden Rectangle, a collection of streets in Milan lined with sensational designer shops, along with a variety of captivating boutiques around town. Italy, Switzerland Luxury Tour Review: Lake District, Private Boat Tour, History, Castles, Gardens, Islands, 2 Weeks

My husband and I just returned from our first visit to the lake region of Italy. We have traveled extensively over the years, but our travel agent passed away and we were in need of a new agent. Luckily for us, an acquaintance recommended Zicasso’s tour operator.

I cannot praise her and her company’s help desk highly enough. She was thoughtful, lovely, well-spoken, and a pleasure to deal with. She listened to our wants and dreams for this trip to be special as we were celebrating our golden anniversary. Our agent worked on our itinerary, was open to any modifications we requested, and made excellent suggestions.

She selected the most wonderful five-star hotels I have ever stayed at and created a custom itinerary that met our physical challenges. From five-star transfers to private boat excursions, we learned all about Lake Maggiore, Lake Como, and Lake Garda. We visited castles, gardens, and small islands with lovely cafés and amazing histories. Our agent requested room upgrades when available, so each of our rooms/suites was beautiful and had terraces with lovely views of the lakes.

Our one-day trip to Switzerland was absolutely perfect! The help desk could not have been more efficient. Every evening we were given the pick-up information and itinerary for the next day. After our day trips were completed, the desk checked to see if all had gone smoothly and efficiently. We truly felt pampered and totally at ease during our vacation.

I cannot recommend our agent and her company highly enough. In fact, my sister-in-law is using them for a family to visit England and Amsterdam in the upcoming year. I cannot wait to book our next trip with our agent!

Travel Review: Luxury Northern Italy Vacation, Venice, Lake Garda, Lake Como, Bellagio, the Dolomites, the Alps

The trip was planned perfectly. It was exactly what we wanted. Hotels and restaurants were great. We recommend staying at the Spluga Hotel in Lake Como, Piccola Vela in Lake Garda, and Gran Duca di York in Milan. Great hotels, wonderful stay, and great locations.

Vacation Review: Luxury Italy Tour, Lake Como, Menaggio, Milan Shopping, Capri Island Private Boat Tour, Florence, Spa's
We were a party of three adults.  We were nervous because we had never used Zicasso, but through Zicasso we selected this travel company!  The company (Matteo and his team) listened to our wants and did an outstanding job customizing a five-star experience for us.  Throughout our trip and through an app, we were able to real-time communicate with a team member with any questions or concerns (Thank You!). Our itinerary included Lake Como, Milan, Florence, the Amalfi Coast and Rome.  They customized the trip to include lots of shopping as well as site-seeing!  The hotel accommodations were amazing in terms of location, quality and level of service.  We were in the center of the cities/towns and could walk to all sites.  The drivers and guides were always on time, courteous and knowledgeable.  We were nervous about using the Italian high speed rail system, but the travel company arranged all logistics, and now we are totally comfortable using the rail system through Italy.  We would absolutely use this travel company again!

Anniversary Review: France, Italy & Switzerland, Paris, Milan, Piedmont, Stresa, Lake Como, Cinque Terre, Santa Margherita, Lugano

Our travel company was very good and we have no concerns highly recommending them.   We would definitley use them again.   We had private drivers and guides during our entire 21 day trip.   Every one of them was on time and professional.  We only had one issue with one driver.   All the rest were fantastic.  The driver in question did not know the roads and had to turn around twice and bacially start over from our hotel.   Then we got lost when we finally arrived (45 minutes late) at our destination.   But he was so nice and apologetic, that we felt bad for him.

We loved the all the hotels except the one in the Piedmonte wine region.   It was a very nice room but the location was too isolated and no real view.  We had to eat at the hotel or take a long and pricey cab ride to Alba.   The food was delicious but the main restaruant did not change their menu in spite of them telling us it would be another menu.   And it was somewhat limited menu.   But they did serve us so many extra intriguing small bites (like French Laundry in Napa but at a much better price).

The other hotel rooms were just spectacular.   Especially our hotels in Stresa, Lake Como, and Santa Margarita.   The hotels in Paris and Milan were very good with great locations but cannot compare to the others.

We took 3 private boats tours.   All were fantastic.   And all the private tours and guides were amazing except the day in Lugano.   We should have been told that everything is closed on Sunday but the churches.  We could have easily changed days.   And also we had a 8 hour tour but the guide was only with us 2 hours and that was the confused driver so we had no idea how to fill the rest of our time.   Luckily the guide decided to go back to Como with us and told us what to do and see so that worked out.   However, if we would have know, we would not have gone to Lugano.   We hate to waste time in a car.   That is another reason we did not like the hotel in Piedmonte wine area.   We had to drive an hour or so to get to our winery tours or towns.

The Effiel tower dinner was fantastic but we had no view.   That was very disapointing as we were celbrating our 50th wedding anniversary.

And lastly in Milan, we were expecting to see the "Last Supper" painting.   The guide told us that day we did not have tickets.   The two things I said I wanted to see there was the Dumo and the painting.   And I told them that early on in our planning.  Somehow that information was not gicen to us.  Our guide was extremly knowledgeable of her city.  We did not know that we had to catch a cab back to our hotel.  Since it was our last day, we had just enough euros left for the guide's tip.   So she received a smaller one than we plannedbecuase we had to pay for the cab.   At no other time on the trip, we were responsible for getting back to the hotel on our own.

Italy Trip Review: Venice, Como, Tuscany, Florence, Rome, Bellagio, Sistine Chapel, Lake Como Boat Tour
Our custom trip through Italy was one of the most amazing travel experiences we have had. Cameron’s attention to details and knowledge of unique and incredible activities created a whirlwind tour through Venice, Como, Tuscany, Florence, Rome, and more. We had the absolute best hotels, restaurants, tour guides, ground transportation, boat tours, and more. We had the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to stand in the Sistine Chapel alone, before any other groups, in the cool and quiet of the morning and really take-in the art, history, and feeling of it all. We had a boat tour of Lake Como where we were literally the only ones on the water and with the sunshine peaking through clouds like spotlights on the villas that lined the coast. We had a private lunch of the best northern Italian wines, cheeses, meats, and more while in Bellagio with a charismatic host who told us stories about the vineyards in the region. We had the privilege of having the center table at the fine dining restaurant located in the hills of Tuscany and enjoyed their specially prepared tasting menu. We enjoyed 5-star hotels with rooms that overlooked the Grand Canal in Venice and the Domo in Florence. Our tour guides were traveling professors from prestigious universities, art and architecture historians, and locals who had childhood friendships with museum curators that allowed us special access to restricted areas. If you are thinking about a trip to Italy, I highly recommend you contact Cameron - you will never forget your experience.

Italy Vacation Review: Milan, Cinque Terre, Lake Como, Venice, Monterosso, Levanto, Vernazza

Zicasso's travel company helped us plan an amazing 10-day trip to northern Italy. We traveled to Milan, Cinque Terre, Lake Como, and departed from Venice. She booked us into wonderful four-star local hotels and curated unique experiences to make our vacation richer and memorable.

The highlights included:

The culinary walking tour in Milan with a private host who was knowledgeable about the local cuisine and Milanese history and culture.

The pesto-making class in Vernazza (Cinque Terre). We were the only ones in the class. We made pesto in the traditional way, with mortar and pestle, and sampled local wines and cheeses. Our instructor was fantastic.

The private boat trip around Lake Como for an up-close look at the amazing beauty of the lake and the opulent villas.

The walking tour in Venice with a guide who took us off the beaten path and enriched our knowledge of Venetian history and culture.

Our travel agent arranged the transfers between locations. Our drivers were on time and professional. The hotels were clean, comfortable, and every one had delicious breakfast buffets. I am in love with cappuccino!

All in all, this style of vacation cost more than I would have normally spent if I had done it all myself, but it was worth it. If I subtract the stress saved from not having to arrange transportation myself (worrying about time tables, how to get to and from train stations with luggage and kids, etc) and add in the richness that the unique experiences she arranged added to the trip, it more than made up for the cost. I also took joy in knowing she was using local vendors and hotels to support the local economy (as opposed to me booking with a bid brand just because I am familiar with them).
