We had a wonderful trip from Lake Como to Milan to Cinque Terre to Florence. In addition to seeing Florence, Florence was our base for day trips into small beautiful towns in Tuscany. Our agent worked carefully with us from the beginning to get the right mix of independent travel and guided travel during our trip. It all came together wonderfully during our travels and we have many great memories from this trip as a result. We strongly recommend this company if you are planning a trip to Italy in the future. We'll definitely use them again should we decide to revisit this beautiful country.

In general, the trip was fantastic! I worked with a Zicasso tour operator to create a trip and she came through with a terrific itinerary. Our journey to Italy included Rome, Florence, Tuscany, Cinque Terre, and Lake Como. The hotels were well located, although room sizes were small at most of the locations. Travel arrangements between locations were excellent, with drivers on time, vehicles clean, and drivers flexible about intermittent stops. Our planned tours and day trips were well thought out and, with one exception, were some of the trip highlights. The Zicasso staff were available via text and telephone throughout the trip for minor modifications.

Zicasso's travel company helped us plan an amazing 10-day trip to northern Italy. We traveled to Milan, Cinque Terre, Lake Como, and departed from Venice. She booked us into wonderful four-star local hotels and curated unique experiences to make our vacation richer and memorable.
The highlights included:
The culinary walking tour in Milan with a private host who was knowledgeable about the local cuisine and Milanese history and culture.
The pesto-making class in Vernazza (Cinque Terre). We were the only ones in the class. We made pesto in the traditional way, with mortar and pestle, and sampled local wines and cheeses. Our instructor was fantastic.
The private boat trip around Lake Como for an up-close look at the amazing beauty of the lake and the opulent villas.
The walking tour in Venice with a guide who took us off the beaten path and enriched our knowledge of Venetian history and culture.
Our travel agent arranged the transfers between locations. Our drivers were on time and professional. The hotels were clean, comfortable, and every one had delicious breakfast buffets. I am in love with cappuccino!
All in all, this style of vacation cost more than I would have normally spent if I had done it all myself, but it was worth it. If I subtract the stress saved from not having to arrange transportation myself (worrying about time tables, how to get to and from train stations with luggage and kids, etc) and add in the richness that the unique experiences she arranged added to the trip, it more than made up for the cost. I also took joy in knowing she was using local vendors and hotels to support the local economy (as opposed to me booking with a bid brand just because I am familiar with them).
