Best of Remarkable Rhodes: Island Tour in One Week

Our group consisted of travelers with extensive experiences with group and private travel operators. We enjoyed our travels - especially the Minoan tours and scenery in Epirus.

However, the trip planning and coordination were less than ideal.

A free day was scheduled on a day when important museums were closed.

On the Easter holiday we were in a town with only closed restaurants, and we needed to buy food in a grocery to be cooked in our unit.

The transfers and tours in Rhodes often came late requiring phone calls.

Two tours in Rhodes were duplicative. The guides were knowledgeable but not great. One better tour would have been preferred.

The itinerary missed some important museums and monasteries.

On each of the islands, we would have preferred one fewer night each.

Our trip to Greece was fantastic. Zicasso’s tour company provided us with a wonderful itinerary for Athens and the islands, and we continued our third week to visit the mainland of Greece, from Meteora to Delphi to Olympia, Mystras, and Nafplio.

The tour company was with us throughout our visit, assisting continuously with any challenge or change of itinerary needed. Their service was absolutely outstanding.

Fabulous, Fantastic, Fun! We had an absolutely amazing 10 days traveling in Athens, Naxos, Santorini, and Crete. We were traveling with four 20somethings with varied interests. Zicasso's tour planner listened to my description of what we were looking for and created a masterpiece of a trip!

The trip was fantastic. Zicasso's tour planner organized a great trip that allowed us to experience so much of Greece in two weeks. The cooking lesson and Cretan meal were highlights, allowing us to experience more of the local experience. The private tours were excellent and they managed to help navigate crowds/tour buses well.

Zicasso’s travel agency was incredible. Our agent put together an incredible two-week trip to Greece for us. Everything was planned perfectly, in such detail, and there wasn't a blip during the entire trip.  

As soon as we got to Athens from the US, we met our agent and received a folder with some tickets, boarding passes, etc., and a phone that we could use throughout to easily reach her, and vice versa. It was like she was by our side the entire time, checking in to see if things were going well or if we had any questions. We had no idea how well cared for we would be. 

We were in Athens, Naxos, Rhodes, Santorini, and Crete. Many meals were included. Two that stood out were a dinner in Naxos at a taverna run by the brother of one of our agent’s friends and the last night's dinner in Chania at a taverna run by her cousin. Those meals were complementary and we were treated like royalty.  

Other highlights were hiking in Naxos, a sunset cruise in Chania, and incredible hotels in Rhodes, Arachnes, Naxos, and Chania. I wholeheartedly recommend our travel company and agent. She was truly a special person. I have probably forgotten to include some highlights, but mostly wanted to note that our agent was awesome – detailed, thorough, thoughtful, and truly kind. We miss her!

I should also note that while traveling, before we got to Greece, I lost my wallet and requested her help with contacting the hotel in Athens about receiving a package for me, likely prior to my arrival, with my replacement credit card in it. Our agent and the hotel really helped me. 

I can't say enough.

Zicasso's travel planner and her company gave me one of the most phenomenal vacations I have ever had. This trip can be labelled as the trip of a lifetime. She had every detail completed.

Our flights, our transfers, and our ferry tickets were waiting for us at the hotel front desk on every island. We had incredible tours set up, with the most incredible tour guides. We laughed, drank, ate, and celebrated in the most decadent locations in Naxos, Santorini, Crete, and Athens.

We encountered only one hiccup and she was on it within minutes of receiving my email. She stood by her word and solved my issue with professionalism and expedited the correction. I cannot emphasize enough how awesome she is. I cannot wait to plan my trip for next year. I highly recommend her and her company. Thank you for the lifelong memories!!!! You're the best!!
