Indulgent 10-Day Greek Island Food & Wine Tour

Soon after breakfast, your guide will lead you on an exclusive food tour of Athens, where you will discover some of the outstanding food of the city. During your tour, you will feel the pulsing culture of the city as you follow your guide around the winding roads of Athens. During your tour, you will stop by some of the many specialty shops around the city, where you will learn about the traditional dishes of Greek cuisine in addition to sampling it. Your guide will also lead you through the Central Market of Athens. By the end of the day, you will feel immersed in the food culture of Athens.

After breakfast, you will leave Athens in the background as you transfer to the island of Mykonos. Upon your arrival in Mykonos, you will begin to admire the charming roads of the island as you are led to your waterfront hotel. After you have had time to relax and settle in, your guide will lead you on an afternoon tour of some of the most iconic sites in Mykonos. One of the first stops of your tour will be the Kato Milli area, which is the location of the island’s ancient windmills. You will also stop at the Village of Ano Mera, the Monastery of Panagia Tourliani, and the ruins of Gyzi Castle, which date back to the 13th century. Once your tour concludes, you can enjoy your first evening in Mykonos at your own pace.

After breakfast, the relaxation and amazing views will continue when you transfer to Ornos Beach for the balance of the morning. The hours will easily pass you as you enjoy the crystal water, golden sands, and shining sun. Later in the afternoon, you will immerse yourself in the fare of Mykonos with a private cooking class. During this experience, you will be led to a family-owned restaurant, where the welcoming owners will teach you the tips and tricks of traditional Greek cooking. After breakfast, you will transfer to your next island destination of Naxos. The boat will glide across the crystal waters, and you may delight in every minute of the luxurious ride. This morning, you will begin your tour for the day, which will include an intriguing visit to one of the island’s restored olive mills and an olive oil tasting. The tradition of making olive oil has a rich history in Naxos. The mill originally dates back to the 1800s but has been beautifully restored. For years, locally grown olives were pressed into fresh olive oil, and you will surely marvel at the restored and refurbished equipment around the mill. You will be fascinated as you hear about the process of pressing olives and making oil. As you take your seat at the table, you will be presented with multiple local varieties and some fresh bread.

After breakfast this morning, you will embark on an excursion to Santorini. The island formed as a result of volcanic eruptions, and upon your arrival, a quick transfer will lead you to your luxurious accommodation. After you have checked in and had some time to relax, your guide will lead you on a tour of the island. One of the first stops on your tour will be the site of Akrotiri. This area was first settled by the Minoans thousands of years ago but was subsequently buried under volcanic ash for centuries. Your tour will then continue to the popular Villages of Fira and Oia. This evening, a local bar will provide you with a tasting of the popular Greek aperitif known as ouzo.

This morning, you will have some free time for a bit of self-guided exploration after breakfast. With stunning views, delicious food, and delightful shops all around you, you will have another wonderful morning in Greece. After lunch, you will embark on a private wine tour that will allow you to indulge in the exquisite wines of Santorini. During your tour, you will visit three of the island’s premier wineries. At each location, your guide and professional sommelier will lead you around the rows of grapes and cellars so that you can discover the secret to making the perfect blend. This morning after breakfast, you will embark on your tour for the day, which will feature an excursion to the nearby island of Nea Kameni and a luxurious dinner cruise. Nea Kameni is a remarkable destination because it is located in the center of Santorini’s caldera, which also formed from the area’s many volcanic eruptions.
