Day 1

Mumbai - Delightful Beginnings

Arrive in Mumbai, a city that has collected its surrounding cultures, whether from across the sea or down the road, and become filled with diverse and endless energy. You are met at the airport by a private transfer and immediately you will see the delightful colors of the city sparkling off of the clothing, glinting off of the reflective skyscrapers, and blossoming over the hidden cities. Rising over the city streets at the edges of Gorai Creek is the 280 foot-tall golden stupa that houses relics of Buddha. The coloration and size of the temple isn’t the only stunning aspect of the architecture; the entire chedi was built without supports using ancient techniques to interlock the stones. It is a perfect welcome to the intersecting wonders of India and your golden time to come, filled with color, flavor, and energy at every step.

India Luxury Travel Review: Wildlife, Caves, Street Food, Three Weeks

We had the most amazing trip to Mumbai, Aurangabad for the Ellora and Ajanta caves, Tadoba and Kabini for wildlife, Mysore, Kochi, Munnar, and, finally, Kumarakom. Everything went according to plan and our agency checked in with us via WhatsApp most days. Our guides and drivers were all excellent and looked after us so well.

I would thoroughly recommend Zicasso’s travel agency and will certainly use them when we return to India.

The initial planning via WhatsApp phone calls and emails was on point, and we were able to create the itinerary we wanted.

The hotels were excellent and although we had many very early starts, there was always some downtime during the day to chill.

Review: Luxury Mother-Daughter Trip to India, Golden Triangle, Ranthambore Tiger Safari, Cooking Demonstration, Elephant Ride

My recent trip to India to celebrate my 50th birthday with my daughter was very special indeed due to all the effort that our travel company and his team put into my intinerary for what was a truly an exquisite and memorable trip! We hit 7 cities throughout what is commonly referred to as the "Golden Triangle" and got to see several hilites including the TAj Mahal; one of the 10 wonders of the world. The chaperones, guides and drivers were fantastic with some minor langauage barriers among a couple. The tiger safari to see the Royal Bengal Tiger at Rathamboure in Rajistan was simply spectacular! The accomodations were superb as well as the food. There was some confusion about the inclusion of dinner at a few spots however our agent promptly tried to make it up to my daughter and I. I was surprised with a birthday card at the Boat Yard by staff as well as with a personally decorated cake in two spots. The elephant ride was exciting as well as all the gorgeous spots and sites we got to see. We enjoyed the cooking demonstrtation immensely in Jaipur with a local family of royal decsnt and among the "warrior tribe." Very meaningful indeed. The south of India was adbosultely stunning and I wish we had more time to spend there at Marari Beach! My daughter and I plan to return in the future to revisit some of the same spots as well as to visit other cities like Mumbia, Bombay, Darjiling that we didn't get to see this time around and ofcourse return to the South! I would highly recommend this company for travel and will us ethem again in future!

India Travel Review: Thekkady, Kolukkumalai, Kumarakom, Kochin, Kerala

Our travel agency did a wonderful job being responsive to our needs. What made our trip exceptional was our driver. Any request we had, he made it a priority to make it happen. After many travel experiences, we realize that a driver can make a good vacation a great one. Our highlights included a South Indian cuisine cooking class with a family in their home in Thekkady, our stay at the Spice Tree Hotel -staff were so welcoming and the food fresh and delicious. Our 2 hour bumpy ride in a jeep to Kolukkumalai, the highest tea growing estate in the world in the Western Ghatts was well worth the journey. The Backwater in Kumarakom was educational in terms of agriculture and fishing. It is a tourist attraction; however, getting off the boat for a walk along the jetty is a chance to truly experience the unique culture. The children were eager to talk with us using the English they have learned in school. One the way back to Cochin we had a traditional lunch in a private home where we were taught how to eat an Indian vegetarian meal with our hands arranged on a banana leaf - very delicious! We were fortunate to be in Kerala during Onam, the Harvest Celebration. Kerala is truly "God's Own Country".

India Travel Agent Review: Varansai, One-Week Luxury Stay

We were very happy with them. Please let themknow.

They were courteous and gracious and very professional. And very generous, gave us beautiful gifts including for me a grey tunic which fit me perfectly which is no small feat ( I am 5ft 2 and very rotund) this was very impressive... such good quality!Transitions were very smooth. Everyone very friendly. Not sure who exactly organized it but we were serenaded by wonderful musicians on the boat early morning in Varanasi. This will remain a highlight of our tripto India. Should we ever be able to return to India we works use them again, hands down. After Varanasi we met up with our synagogue group ( tour agency) for two weeks and one could not compare, their guides were not good. We loved Varanasi!  Our guide was excellent. Very intelligent,if we were to do it over, I would have insisted that my husband agree to unwind in the original place this travel company suggested which was near the tiger preserve. My husband did not want to take yet another plane nor long car journey so we stayed at a resort outside of Delhi.  It was very luxurious and I loved the suite but I didn’t feel I was in India, but rather a beautiful facsimile of India. My husband liked it much more than I did and did not agree. This was no fault of the agency. What he wanted. Perhaps if we had to do it all again I would have preferred landing inn Mumbai and going to Goa.

I would use this travel company again to see more of India ( I.e. to go near Himalayas, see Hempe, go to Nature Preserve etc.) hopefully one day that can still happen.

Travel Review: Luxury 10-Day Trip to India, Udaipur, Agra, New Delhi, Ranthambore National Park, Amber Fort, Bird Sanctuary

Overall, we were very pleased with our trip.  Our guides were all knowledgeable about history and culture and they ensured we were carefully looked after.  They advocated strongly on our behalf and were flexible with respect to changes in the schedule based on time and activities.  The information we received beforehand adequately prepared us for our activities.  For example, I read some reviews where people were angry they didn’t see tigers or other wildlife at Ranthambhore, but our information made it clear the area is a reserve and not a zoo and had very different topography than in Africa.  We appreciated that being custom travel, we were able to include a stop at Bharatpur Bird Sanctuary, which was a wonderful experience to see birds migrating from Russia and China.  The hotels were mostly modern; we loved the historic place of Nahargarh Ranthambhore and the Hotel Fategarh.  We completely adored our driver who was with us from New Delhi until we left Jaipur.  He not only maintained a clean and comfortable vehicle, he made sure we always had sufficient water and he had hand sanitizer, wipes, and candies.  He was very flexible and took us to a Royal Enfield motorcycle showroom at our request.  He worked to help us find a new battery for our camera; he ultimately spoke with a shop owner who arranged to have a battery from another shop delivered to our hotel room.  He also secured an excellent rickshaw driver for us in the Bharatpur Bird Sanctuary who used his binoculars and my phone to take excellent pictures of wildlife for me.  We spend many hours with our driver and as we traveled, he educated us about many factors in Indian life.

Review: Luxury India Tour, Golden Triangle, Ranthambore National Park, Gir Forest, Taj Mahal, Tiger & Wildlife Safari

Excellent service. Everything was organised as requested with no delays or problems. All sightseeing and guides expertly arranged and very knowledgeable. Game parks were both perfectly arranged with very good drivers and wildlife guides - seeing tigers/lions and a leopard in the wild certainly helps
