Rome – Arrive in Rome for a Romantic Four-Course Tiber Dinner Cruise
The churches in Rome create the skyline with elaborate domes and fascinating spires rising over the terracotta rooftops. The Eternal City shimmers with gold in the morning light and glows deep orange at sunset. Hidden gardens fill the air with the aromas of jasmine and orange while enticing restaurants hide within the cozy corners of historical buildings. Your private transfer will greet you at Rome Fiumicino Airport upon your arrival and escort you both to your gorgeous hotel that will combine the grandeur of antiquity with the luxury of modern amenities, embodying the brilliance of Rome. You will have time to explore the beauty of the cobblestone streets that wind around the historic city center at your leisure and eventually land at the Pantheon, one of the oldest surviving structures in the city dating back to the 1st century AD.
The dome has a diameter of more than 140 feet with a central opening that reaches nearly 30 feet wide, providing the only light source for the entire structure. The marble floors slope at a slight angle leading to the interior’s center, where a groove allowed rainwater to drain. A harmonious ambiance fills the gallery, deriving from the diameter of the dome and the height of the walls being of the same proportions. 16 massive concrete pillars support the portico in front of the large doors once draped in bronze.
In the early evening, you step onto the dock near the Sant’Angelo Bridge. The light casts a unique glow across the marble statues that frame the walkway above, with each figure designed by the master Gian Lorenzo Bernini. Board an elegant boat and set off on the Tiber River, the source of life and the heart of the Roman Empire. The glass windows provide ample views of the antique city and its fascinating architecture that rises over the elevated river banks, guiding your eyes from St. Mark’s Basilica to Sant’Angelo Castle. You can sit back and sip your wine as you enjoy the luscious aroma of simmering garlic and herbs while savoring the gentle sounds of the strumming guitar and the pleasure of the company you keep.

We had a wonderful trip. "Tuscany in Winter" was my husband's idea to experience this beautiful part the world beating summer crowds. We visited the lovely ancient city of Siena the historic Florence and the Tuscany countryside for a few days in between. We were able to enjoy the galleries, restaurants and other popular sites pretty much on our own and were welcomed very warmly in cold weather by all.
Our guide and driver were very professional and pleasant. They were very concerned about all aspects of the responsibility of providing the very best service possible.

THE BEST VACATION EVER!!!!
I must admit that I was somewhat uncomfortable arranging a group tour to Italy with someone I communicated with only via the Internet and telephone. However, after my first communication with our agent -- I knew that she “had it.” She understood exactly what we wanted to do. She was right-on in both concept and execution.
Our ten-day adventure in Italy began with a private transfer with an English speaking local driver from the Rome airport to our fantastic 3 star boutique hotel located right in the historical center of Rome. During our three days in Rome, we had fantastic private tours of Ancient Rome, the Coliseum, and the Vatican Museums. Extremely knowledgeable, English-speaking guides led all of our tours. Sense of Italy had arranged for VIP, skip the line, priority entrance for all tours -- saving us from long waits in long lines.
After our busy 3 days in Rome, we departed via private van transfer from our hotel in Rome to the Chianti Region of Tuscany. The transfer included stops on the Val D’ Orcia to visit the amazing Villages of Montalcino and Montepulciano. The “light lunch” and wine tasting we enjoyed in Montalcino was one of the highlights of our trip. In Tuscany we stayed 7 Nights in a beautiful, historic villa located on one of the best wine estates of Chianti (Villa Le Corti near San Casciano) where we were met with a fantastic welcome dinner. During our time in Tuscany we were transported by private van from our villa to private tours of Siena, San Gimignano, Florence, Pisa and Lucca. On each of our stops we were met by knowledgeable English speaking guides that clearly were proud of the history of their country, and were anxious to share it. Interspersed in all of this activity were numerous exceptional meals with opportunities to taste (and drink) very fine Italian wines.
When we finally were forced to leave Italy, our agent arranged for private transport accommodating our varying departure times from the Florence airport and train station.
Thanks to this travel company and our agent for designing the perfect vacation for our group. The only complaint that I heard was that we ate too much — wow was all the food delicious. I really don’t know how she did it. All of the tours were great — the van drivers friendly and helpful, the guides knowledgeable, and the sites spectacular. Our stay in the villa was a great experience. We were treated royally everywhere. We all marveled at our agent's ability to get us, the vans, the guides, the food and wine, etc. all at the right place at the right time. She is a genius!!!!

Last year we did a fabulous trip to Tuscany. It was our first time traveling with Zicasso and our travel company. It was an incredible and beyond-expectations trip. So this year we decided to repeat the formula and travel to the Lake Region in northern Italy.
We contacted Zicasso and our travel stylist. She knows us well and this time recommended Lago Maggiore, Lago di Como, and Milano, considering every detail - a perfect mix between quiet and astonishingly beautiful towns, active hikes through small towns, and hidden gems hardly seen by tourists. This private journey was perfect, planned as it was to avoid crowds and ensure we could enjoy the beautiful lake region without missing any highlights. We discovered timeless hidden towns and villas, and wonderful people and culture.
We were guided privately every day through different experiences by amazing professionals who gave us a good rundown in history, architecture, and botanical lessons, as well as time to enjoy the beautiful scenery by ourselves.
Our travel agent's recommendations on hotels and restaurants could not have been better.

This travel agency did a great job in planning our vacation to Venice, Florence, and Rome. This was our first trip overseas and they did a great job in communicating with us, everything we will need to do. Our agents were always available for questions or just a quick email back answering any questions we had. They sent our travel documents to us timely and discussed them over the phone to make sure we understood them and knew where we needed to be. It was great to have someone meet us at the Venice airport to walk us to the boat and to the hotel to make sure we got checked in. Also, the escort to the train station to make sure we got on the correct train to Florence was great. The walking tours and gondola ride in Venice was great, the tours and museum trips in Florence were awesome, and the walking tour and Colleseum tour was spectacular. We loved the trip to Pompeii and the Amalfi Coast, but I would recommend to break this up so you have enough time at both locations. There is too much van time in this combined tour. I wished we would have stayed a couple of days on the coast, but we'll be back for that. The winery tour to Tuscany was a great day trip for some great wines and food.
The three hotels booked for us were fantastic and off the main tourist area which we were fine with. My only suggestion would be to make sure you understand where your hotels will be and the amount of walking needed to get back to the hotel. It didn't bother us but if you're older or don't like to walk you should let them know upfront that you'd like something closer to the city center.
The cities and the sites were great and our travel agency did an awesome job making this the best vacation we have ever had!
