Venice – Arrive in Venice with A Fascinating Introductory Grand Canal Tour
Venice is a city of majestic palaces and beautiful crafts that accentuate the history that spans the lagoon. The port once acted as the heart of trade between Europe and Asia Minor, collecting treasures from far off lands and encouraging art in architecture, paintings, and glasswork. Your flight will arrive at Marco Polo International Airport, and your private transfer will meet you at baggage claim. At the edge of the Grand Canal, you will find the city bustling with vibrant life as visitors from the train station cross into the city by way of the Scalzi Bridge, erected in the 1930s with an elegant stone design.
You will meet your private boat at a dock on the canal and set out on your first of many excursions to see the splendors of the city. At dusk, the lamps that line the shores will glow as the women open their window shutters and converse with their neighbors. Gondoliers guide their iconic boats across the water, which stretches two miles between the lagoon openings. The simple pleasures of an evening boat ride allow you to settle in for the wonders of Venice. Wood plinths are painted with red and white stripes that rise out of the water and support protruding docks.
The domes of Santa Maria della Salute, a 17th-century church erected in devotional gratitude at the end of the plague, stands with graceful pomp against the water that splashes at the cobblestone street. The Late Gothic architecture of Ca’ Foscari has four stories and shows the impressive wealth of the 15th-century Foscari family. You will pass beneath the arching frame of the famous Rialto Bridge as the structure was constructed in the 16th century to replace the wooden drawbridge that had collapsed. 6,000 wood plinths have supported the more than 400-foot long bridge during its creation, which gained prominence as the only bridge that spanned the Grand Canal until the 19th century.

WOW! Where do we start. It was a fantastic family vacation. From start to finish, we couldn't ask for a better scripted trip. Our travel agent, was responsible for our itinerary for the entire trip; boy were we glad we've used their services. They were pure angels holding our hands the entire trip. Our travel agency would check and remind us of our itineraries on a daily basis. It really felt as if they were right next to us. Thank you to our agency!
We started out in Venice for 3 nights, travel to Florence for 3 more, then to Sorrento via Pompeii 3 there as well, then to Rome for final 3 nights.
Once, we arrived in Venice, our contact met us at the airport to guide us to our hotel. I highly recommend it since it's not an easy place to navigate on your own the first day. After checking in, we met our tour guide for our first guided tour. It was a walking tour of city of canals. Just beautiful! Next morning, we met our guide again but for Burano & Murano. We loved the different pace of these islands. After completing our tour we met our instructor at his glass blowing studio for a hands on experience, just lovely, follow by a Gondolier Class and Food Tour. It was perfect way to finish the day. On the third day, we took a one hour train ride to Verona, birth place of Romeo and Juliet. Our tour guide met us and showed us around town and its history. It was an wonderful place to visit. Upon returning from Verona, we had the evening to ourselves. We started out walking around to explore. Needless to say we got lost but that was for the best. It gave us the opportunity to explore the city and see how the locals lived.
Florence was our second stop. We met our guide for the tour of the city including Santa Croce church. Following day we visited the Accademia Gallery & Uffizzi Museum which is a must when in Florence. On the third day, we had a lovely day trip to Pisa. Little bit of a bus ride but wouldn't have missed it for the world.
Sorrento was next on the agenda. But first, we stopped at Pompeii. Our guide, an archaeologist, met us and gave us the tour of the city once buried in ashes. What a great experience! Our guide was so enthused to share his knowledge that we felt as if we were living in Pompeii at its height. Afterwards, we had lunch at a wine farm on Mt. Vesuvius. Lovely family run vineyard. The whole day was outstanding. For the second and third day, we decided to see the coast by sea and land. Both were different and both were gorgeous. Visited Capri and swam in golf of Naples first by sea then drove to different towns along the coast including Positano, Amalfi, and Revello on the second. It was a nice relaxing break.
Our final destination was Rome. We had an general overview tour of the city on the first day. It was good in a sense it gave us time to get our baring straight. The second day we met our guide for the tour of the Vatican. You can visit the Vatican a dozens of times and still not have enough time to see all it has to offer. In the evening, we had the Colosseum tour. Definitely one of the highlights. The last day we had all to ourselves. We ended up walking around to visit the Spanish steps the Trevi fountain and many more. We wanted to take in as much as possible. Even though the trip was 2 weeks, it was too short. By the end of the trip, our whole family fell in love with this county and we all looked at each other and said can we live here.
Overall, it was an outstanding trip that we can not even begin to describe. Without the help of our agency, I don't think it would've been possible. They made sure that every little details were taking care of. For anyone, who's interested in Italy, please look up this company.

My husband and I just returned from an incredible trip to Italy celebrating our 20 year anniversary. Our agent with this Italy travel company planned a trip that was exactly what we were hoped for: stress-free, full of activities (but not overwhelming), romantic, and beautiful. On a trip with so much details there are plenty of opportunities for something to go wrong but every tiny aspect was handled perfectly!! Within five minutes of stepping into any car, the driver’s phone rang. It was one of our agents making sure everything was fine and there were no problems. Our agent made our trip incredible! His attention to detail, vast knowledge, and ability to read people to figure out what and how to plan their trip allowed my husband and I to enjoy each other and our surroundings.
We spent the first two nights in Montalcino. I imagine it is challenging to make a castle cozy and charming, but they succeeded! The castle was more than we could have ever hoped for with an interesting history, beautiful pool and views that were out of this world. The staff was friendly and helpful; the rooms were tastefully decorated and roomy. The castle's restaurant served us the most incredible meals with wonderful wine. We went cycling through the vineyards, enjoyed the wine tasting room, experienced a cooking class by the head chef that was entertaining as well as informative. We actually replicated his meal within a week of arriving home.
We left Montalcino for Rome and spent four days exploring the city. We had a private tour guide for Vatican City and Ancient Rome. With the large amount of people, everywhere, I can not imagine trying to navigate, enjoy, and absorb so much history and space without someone to help. He was full of information; it was obvious he loved the city and the history. We spent our time where we wanted to be, not trying to figure out how to get there or how to get around the masses of people. The hotel we stayed at is in a great location. The hotel was nice but it was all about the location.
We departed Rome for Sorrento where we dropped our suitcases at the hotel. Our room was beautiful with lots of room and a view that we ran to see every morning. Their patio overlooks Sorrento Bay and we enjoyed every sunset with a drink and beautiful sights. The staff at the hotel were very helpful with suggestions and a friendly smile. Our favorite place to eat was Donna Sophia, a restaurant that is located up a very narrow, scary but exhilarating street. We found the ride and the restaurant to be lots of fun with delicious food. We spent one day with a private driver and guide in Pompeii and Vesuvius. The next day we had a private driver that took us on the most beautiful drive to Positano where we again enjoyed the views, beach, and shopping. Unfortunately there was a wreck that blocked the road and we could not continue on to Ravello and Amalfi. Instead we spent a relaxing afternoon by the pool.
Our favorite part of the trip was a day spent on a private charter boat. It was amazingly scenic and beautiful while relaxing and peaceful. We enjoyed swimming, checking out caves, a lunch that was out of this world, and champagne while drinking in the sights. We ended our boat trip on Capri Island.
We spent two nights at the hotel there. It was absolutely breathtaking! The view from the balcony of our room can not be adequately described. It was truly the most magnificent sight I have ever seen. The staff went out of their way to be helpful. We had a small issue with a clothing store that was suppose to deliver a package the night before we left. When we woke and still had not received our goods, the staff at the front desk handled the situation beautifully and resolved our problem.

Thanks for helping me organize my family (of 10 with diverse age from 15 to 63) trip to Italy, from Dec 17 to Dec 31. Whilst different member of my family have different expectation and requirement, I would like to comment you and your team on having planned an excellent trip that not only met each and everyone's interest and expectation but truly exceeded it.
Your planning have brought us to the lovely cities of Parma, Modena, Florence, Orvieto, Civita Di Bagnoregio, Naples, Rome, Venice, Cortina d'Amprezzo and back to our starting point Milan. Throughout the trip, we have a well balance itinerary that covered
- beautiful churches such as the Duomo in Milan, Rome, Florence,
- archeological site like Pompeii, Colosseum, Roman Forum, Pantheon, Pisa, Verona (learning more about romeo and Juliet)
- great local eating places (recommended by the guides you chose)
- lovely country side and unique sight in San Gimignano, Civita Di Bagnoregio, Orvieto, Lake Como,
- great gallery likes Uffizi, Academia
- Interesting activity such as Snow Mobile excursion in Cortina, Learning Cooking
- Shopping activities
With so much, yet your team immaculate planning never have us rushing from sight to sight, we were both able to enjoy and learn as much as we can of each sight and at times added more activities.
The team of guides you chose, have truly turn stone and history into exciting stories that the provided the group deeper understanding of the sights we visited and saw. Really like to thank each on of them like our guides in Florence, Pisa, San Gimignano, Orvieto and Civita Di Bagnoregio, Naples and Pompeii, Rome, Verona, Venice and Milan.
But most importantly, thank you for getting our driver, he truly ensure our comfort whilst driving steadily through jams on our way to Naple and snow storm on our way to Cortina d Amprezzo and also took very good care of us ensuring we know what to do where we have no guides and leaving us clear instruction when we needed help. He is truly a wonder.
I will definitely tell my friends heading to Italy about this company.... A wonderfully great experience.

The honeymoon of our dreams!!
We cannot thank this travel company enough for planning the trip of our dreams. Our trip planners were such a pleasure to work with. They were extremely responsive and very engaging as we worked out the details of our trip with them.
They didn't leave out a single detail; it was the perfect balance of scheduled events and time to explore on our own.
The company arranged private tours for us which were wonderful!! My husband was very interested in the history of Rome so having a one on one guide was perfect for us! Our guide was so knowledgeable. For the first three days of our trip, we spent a few hours each morning with her, doing a walking food and culture tour, a tour of the Colosseum, and of the Vatican. We truly enjoyed the time we spent with, getting a true insight into the magnificence of Rome. She was amazing!!
Then we were off to Pompei ! Our very friendly driver picked us up from the train station in Naples and drove us to an amazing experience. We had another great tour guide who was so funny and witty that we didn't want the tour to end. We were surprised by a delicious wine tasting and lunch at a winery, with gorgeous views of Mt Vesuvius. What an amazing experience this was, the wine was unlike any wine I had ever tasted, and the food was to die for!
The hotel they booked for us in Positano was beyond gorgeous!!! The views looked like a postcard, we literally couldn't believe our eyes!! Truly breathtaking! We had a phenomenal time in Positano, a lot of free time to explore and shop and eat and drink (and eat).
From Positano we were picked up by our driver, to see Amalfi and Ravello. He was great and thoughtful! He stopped along the way several time at places he knew to take pictures and suggested a marvelous place for us to have a late lunch. The Chef/Owner let us come back for a tour of the kitchen, and even prepared a meal of his choosing for us!! We had an unforgettable time with them. My husband and I left there that day feeling like we made true friends and were so delighted.
Then we were off to Sorrento !! We noticed on our itinerary that we had a limoncello, cheese, and pizza making experience. We had no idea what a treat we were in for! We were greeted by a hilariously funny tour guide who took us through lemon and olive groves, tasted some of the most delicious olive oils, and we learned how they made different cheeses and happily sampled them!! Then, we walked through the village to the family owned restaurant where we all made our own pizza. So fun!
Our last day was spent in beautiful Capri. We took an hour-long boat tour around the island which I highly recommend! Although the blue grotto was closed for the day, we still explored, shopped, and had lunch overlooking the crystal blue water at a beautiful restaurant which was amazing.
We can't thank this travel company enough for the whole experience. They truly made our honeymoon unforgettable!! We cannot wait to plan our next trip with them!!
Thank you,
Kirsten & Anthony A.
