Zicasso’s tour operator planned the most amazing trip to Italy for us! My requirements were culture, romance, and relaxation. She delivered on every aspect. Although we missed our tour of the Vatican due to the Pope's funeral, my husband and I actually attended his funeral!! Our hotel, though planned many months before, was next to the basilica where Pope Francis was laid to rest. Talk about being a part of history!
We stayed in a beautiful converted villa to boutique hotel in Florence; got whisked away through the Tuscan countryside in a vintage Fiat 500; took cooking classes; sipped lovely wine, accompanied by excellent lunches on our winery tours; soaked in Italy's rich culture and museum scene; and even ticked the relaxation box by spending time by the pool, in the spa, and resting on our large deck overlooking the Amalfi coastline.
Every tour guide was extremely knowledgeable and personable, and it was evident they loved their jobs. Between memories of the boat ride along the Amalfi Coast, tips from the cooking classes I have already started using at home, and the cases of wine we are eagerly awaiting delivery of, my husband and I will forever hold Italy in our hearts and la dolce vita it provided us.
Talk with our tour operator; you will be glad you did!

We visited Italy in early July and it was the trip of a lifetime. We wanted to see as much as we could in two weeks and Michela planned a fantastic adventure for our family. We had so many fun excursions: private guided tours in Venice, Florence, and Rome; a truffle hunt and wine tasting in Tuscany; and a boat tour and pizza cooking course on the Amalfi Coast. Our accommodations were lovely, ranging from boutique hotels to former palazzos and a rustic farmhouse.
Michela also arranged train tickets and private transfers, which made transit less stressful. One thing that was the most helpful was the travel itinerary Michela provided. It had an overall summary of our trip, a daily schedule on each page, and detailed notes about logistics. Michela also went above and beyond when we encountered some confusion during our trip.
When we missed our connecting flight to Italy, she helped look for other flights. When an excursion was canceled due to the weather, she tried to find us an alternative and started processing a refund right away. When there was a taxi strike in Rome, she advised us about different options to get to the train station. A lot of agents probably would not have answered their phones, but Michela was there for us and genuinely tried to help. She was always prompt and professional, and we would highly recommend her.

Zicasso matched us up with two Italian travel agencies. We provided our dates of travel and approximate travel budget per person. Each agency gave us a preliminary itinerary. We were able to request changes to the itinerary and then chose the one that we preferred. The communication through the Zicasso website was easy and comprehensive.
Our entire trip went off without a single problem. We stayed at a very nice apartment in Rome, 1,000 feet from the Colosseum. We had very knowledgeable private tour guides for the Colosseum and the Vatican, allowing us to skip all of the entrance lines. We had private transfers from the airport to the apartment and from the apartment to the train station. We took a train from Rome to Naples and had another private transfer to a very nice hotel in Ravello. We did a private boat tour of the Amalfi Coast with a captain and a first mate. Drinks and snacks were included. We did a guided hike, which ended at a farm-to-table lunch. We spent a morning in Pompeii, followed by a local wine tasting and lunch.
Every part of the vacation exceeded our expectations. The accommodations were fantastic. The planned activities were just what we were looking for. We still had enough free time to explore on our own and choose which restaurants we wanted to eat at each evening. I feel like we got a great deal for what we paid and would definitely book a vacation through Zicasso again.

On this trip, we traveled to Milan, and Lakes Como and Maggiore.
Michela really listened to what we wanted, and tailored the activities she set up for us to our interests, which are history, culture, art, and nature. She also chose hotels that were well aligned with the type of place we like to stay - generally smaller, quiet, and located very close to our areas of focus. Lake Maggiore was the only place we stayed in a huge elaborate hotel, but it was right on the lake and close to the Old Town, which was one of our requirements.
The private guides she selected for us at Lake Como and in Milan were very knowledgeable and made our outings extremely informative and interesting.
She was very responsive when we had questions, and easy to work with.
All in all, I recommend her and her agency for a great trip.

The group at Zicasso's tour company started out by taking our interests and requests, then created a two-week itinerary that was exactly what we were wanting and hoping for. We only made a few changes to options. They also presented and scheduled all the hotels, travel within Italy, and daily experiences. We will definitely use them when we travel back to Italy.
