High-End Northern Italy Tour: Venice, Lake Garda, Milan

I am so happy we worked with our Zicasso travel agent for our 11-night visit to Venice, Florence, and Rome. We had a wonderful Italian experience. Our agent was everything you hope for in a travel specialist: knowledgeable, thoughtful, helpful, gracious, and kind. 

Upon hearing our initial ideas for the trip, she quickly put together a plan on how best to allot our time. Thereafter ensued exchanges regarding hotels, sightseeing, guides, and transfers. She listened to our thoughts, desires, and questions, making many useful suggestions, including hotel choices. She always prioritized our wants and concerns. She organized the travels quickly, as we contacted her only two months prior to departure. 

Once we agreed to the program, she sent us a brochure PDF laying out details for each day of the trip that included hotel confirmations, transfer details, vouchers for museums, a cooking class, a Tuscany day trip with wine, cheese, and olive oil tasting, a gondola ride, Venice lagoon boat excursion, basilica entrance tickets, and guided tours of each city, the Vatican, and Colosseum. 

Upon arrival in Venice, our agent met us at the airport and escorted us to our water taxi. She kept in touch with us daily, texting a reminder of the next day’s schedule, along with numbers for guides and drivers if applicable. Everything she planned went smoothly, without a single hitch. 

When you begin the process with Zicasso, it feels akin to a shot in the dark. The site provides the names of two companies and you’re left to decide who to work with. I couldn’t be more pleased with the trip our agent designed. Book with her; you will be in the best of hands.

This trip was to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary. The Zicasso tour operator did a great job in every respect, from listening to our wish list, planning, and making nearly all the arrangements. The Zicasso tour operator made this trip to Italy one to remember forever! There were four women in our group. She made transferring between cities effortless and simple.

At each place we had private tours. They were worth the extra money! We had easy and quick access to many places where the lines were long, we were able to ask questions and have discussions with the tour guides, and could truly tell each tour guide really cared about showing us what is so special about where they live.

The hotels our agent narrowed down and let us choose from were spectacular! They were comfortable, with great amenities and breakfasts to get our days started right.

The other benefit was having direct contact with our agent while we were on the trip. Any issues, questions, or requests for help were dealt with quickly.

Working with Zicasso’s travel agent made our family's first trip to Italy a completely amazing and wondrous experience. Wow, did she deliver!! I would give her 10 stars if I could! I truly didn't know where to begin when planning for international travel and wasn't sure where to start. I knew we wanted to visit the major cities of Italy, have small group tours with a balance of planned excursions, as well as time to freely explore the cities and Italian countryside, but there was so little I knew. That is where our travel agent helped fill in all the puzzle pieces. She put together a vacation that our family will never forget! It was a perfect balance for our family.

Given she knew what our interests were, she also suggested other amazing experiences, such as a cooking class in Florence, a driving experience in Tuscany, and a few days in Cinque Terre, which I highly recommend!! I also have to admit that at the beginning, I thought we'd only visit Venice and Rome. It was our travel agent who encouraged adding Florence, Pisa, and Cinque Terre, which looking back, I would have hated to miss out on. They were my favorite destinations. Each tour she planned for us was absolutely terrific. She had an incredible network of knowledgeable tour guides that really personalized the various museum tours, cathedral visits, and city walks, and gave us such undivided, one-on-one attention.

Our travel agent was there for us from our arrival in Venice right up to our departure at the airport in Rome. She welcomed us in Venice, arranged our transportation from the airport, and came with us as we checked into our first hotel to help us acclimate and start our journey in a joyful and exciting way. Every day she would get in touch with us to remind us of the day's itinerary, who we would be meeting with and where, along with checking in daily to see how the trip was going. It can be overwhelming planning a trip abroad, but our agent made it so easy and pleasurable. We didn't have to worry about the details and could focus purely on the beautiful country of Italy!!

She was so attentive, friendly, knowledgeable, and oh so organized!! She listened to exactly what I was hoping for in a trip and crafted a vacation that was exactly what our family was looking for. She took care of every single detail, from arranging drivers, reserving hotel rooms, finding wonderful tours that avoided waiting in long lines (an absolute must!!), and fun, family-friendly excursions. She also booked all of our train tickets for us. We were truly spoiled by her organization and attention to detail! She organized our day-to-day itinerary, complete with tickets and tour information, into a wonderful package that was easy to follow and complete down to the final detail. I can't recommend her enough! In a word, she was extraordinary!!
