Detailed Description
Waiting for you lies the breathtaking scenery, classical ruins, and rich flavors of Italy. This luxurious, 10-day journey is designed for traveling families and features a healthy balance of gelato tasting, cathedral tours, cooking courses, and other activities that evoke the inner child in all. Although this itinerary is situated primarily in the cities of Rome, Florence, and Amalfi, your travels will include crossing into the multiple districts and neighborhoods of each city center to ensure that you leave well-acquainted with each city and that no major sight is missed.
The first leg of your journey will introduce you to the vibrant character of Italy’s capital. Rome, which is also known as the Eternal City, occupies a central role in recorded history as the seat of a century and continent-spanning empire. As you explore ancient ruins, this history will become evident. You will also witness Italy’s religious significance as it hosts the Vatican and the head of the Catholic church. Ancient ruins will be replaced by timeless art as you venture to the birthplace of the Renaissance.
Spanning the Arno River, Florence is a splash of red-tiled roofs among the rolling hills of Tuscany. Rare is the table that lacks a tasty product from these hills, either through the unique flavors of the Chianti wine or the rich Florentine steak and pasta dishes. Cleansing your palate of landlocked cities, the coastal town of Amalfi will provide a quieter environment for your family to explore. Perched along a mountainous coast in Italy’s South, Amalfi will seduce you with its beaches, impress you with its history, and then satisfy you with its hospitality. Through these three regions, you will glimpse what is best of Italy while enjoying a level of comfort that is surpassed only by your home.
This itinerary is best paired with a Spring or Fall arrival time. The high season spans from June to early September and is when Italy experiences a veritable invasion of visitors who compete for the best spot on the beach or best table at the restaurants. An early Spring arrival will ensure you mild temperatures while dodging the majority of travelers that arrive later in the season.

Our family of five just got back from the most wonderful vacation in Tuscany and Rome. Our agent crafted a set of amazing experiences for our family from the private tour guides to Florence, Pisa and Lucca; a private wine tasting lunch at the Capannelle Winery and vineyards in Chianti; tickets to the Papal mass at the Vatican; to a tour beneath the church of San Clemente to see the excavations of a byzantine and then a Roman street neighborhood; a day excursion to the Amalfi coast to visit Positano, Sorrento and Pompeii; and more! Our agent and the guides found excellent restaurants from a simple salumeria where the locals ate to some high end restaurants. The hotels were right in the center of Florence – on the piazza della Repubblica - and Rome – between the Piazza del Popolo and the Spanish Steps. Our agent was attentive to our plans and made excellent suggestions. Everything went extremely smoothly. All the guides drivers were very friendly, spoke English and were very knowledgeable about art, history and the local culture. We saw so much every day because everything was so well planned. Simply the best travel experience ever!

We had a wonderful family vacation to the Amalfi Coast, Rome, Florence and Tuscany and I would highly recommend this travel agency. Our agent did a terrific job planning a comprehensive itinerary for our family of five which included my husband, me and our three children (college and high school age) to share history, art, culture and faith in the beautiful country of Italy. In terms of our hotels, we loved the location, the service, and the absolutely spectacular views in Amalfi, Florence and Tuscany. The hotels were incredibly good values, too, for luxury accommodations. Our guides were fantastic - all of them had their PhD's - Archaeology in Rome, Art History in Florence and Anthropology in Siena. Their knowledge, story-telling skills and fluency with English made our tours a highlight of our trip. We love the ease of all of our local transportation information including all of our private transfers. During our trip, we had a few minor issues come up and our agent responded to my texts within minutes and the issues were very promptly resolved. I was amazed how our agent was able to simplify the whole planning process to deliver a once in a lifetime family vacation.

Our trip to Italy was amazing! We are a family of four with two daughters in college. We enjoyed outdoor adventures on the Amalfi coast including hiking the Path of the Gods and swimming in grottos in Capri, tours of ancient Rome and the Vatican, art and food tours in Florence, a day in Tuscany including a private wine tasting and tour, and tours in Venice. All of our guides were very personable and extremely knowledgeable. Our transportation was timely and effortless on our part. It was so nice to have pre-planned excursions with our own private guides, while also having time to explore on our own. Thanks to this travel agent, we were able to fully enjoy the trip without stressing over logistical details.

My husband and I, along with our 2 children (age 20 and 17), enjoyed a wonderful Italian vacation booked through Zicasso and this travel agency. Our travel consultants listened to my ideas and arranged for us a fantastic custom itinerary. They stayed within the budget allotted, offered choices for beautiful hotels and private tours, and made several revisions as per our request. We departed from New York on our 25th anniversary, and spent 10 days traveling the country within the month of November. This off-season time proved to be a great decision as reservations were easy to obtain, crowds were minimal (mostly all locals), and the weather was conducive for walking and sightseeing (average 60 degrees F). Transportation and the personal drivers were top notch; with Mercedes SUVs or minivans to take my family from Milan-Chianti-Florence-Verona-Venice and then the high speed train down to Rome. Accommodations arranged for us were phenomenal! We stayed in a 12th century castle in Chianti, in the heart of the city center in Florence, and near the Spanish Steps in Rome. The personal tour guides were friendly and knowledgable, and were happy to recommend eateries preferred by locals. All in all, everything was flawless. We plan to return some day to see the Amalfi coast, Positano and Capri. We would absolutely recommend these travel consultants, and the travel company team to anyone who is looking for a personalized Italian vacation.

We did a 12 day trip that included Venice, Florence, Tuscany, Rome, Pompeii and the Amalfi Coast. It was a 30th anniversary trip for us. My brother and sister-in-law also travelled with us. It was our first trip to Italy and we wanted to make sure that we could enjoy our vacation without worrying about logistics, transportation, etc. And having never been in Italy, we needed guidance and recommendations for the right accommodations. Our travel agency met or exceeded all of our expectations. Our agents paid close attention to our wishes and carefully planned out the perfect itinerary. They did so while also honoring our budget. They put us in great hotels in the hearts of Venice, Rome and Florence. And we had spectacular views from our hotels in Tuscany and Sorrento. Great drivers and guides were arranged at every stop. In addition to private tours of traditional sites (Vatican, Coliseum, Uffizzi Gallery, St. Mark's Basilica, Pompeii), Our agents also arranged a one of kind wine-tasting and lunch at a small Tuscan farm and a special cooking class at a Michelin starred restaurant. Even with all of the activities, we still had plenty of free time to wander on our own or simply relax. Plus, our agents were always available by phone or e-mail both before and during the trip if we had any questions. They are incredibly responsive. And all of this cost about the same as a high quality group tour. We felt like we got the perfect 30th anniversary trip and that it was an excellent value. I highly recommend this company.
