Detailed Description
The magic of your 10-day mother-daughter Italy tour brings together the thrill of discovery and the wonder of history with fantastic highlights and distinctive perspectives of culture extending from Rome to the Amalfi Coast. Your trip will be customized to you two to enhance your mother-daughter experience. With a blend of the top destinations with exciting adventures and a continual feeling of luxury, your Italy tour will be steeped in history, accentuate the natural beauty, and emphasize the country’s treasured uniqueness in Rome, Naples, and Positano.
Your wonderful journey will begin with your arrival in Rome. Enjoy three nights in the Eternal City and an impressive display of art, historical preservation, and cultural significance. The city brims with ancient ruins dating back to the Roman Republic, and there are even hints of Etruscan antiquity to explore. The Colosseum and Forum exhibit the grandeur of the empire and Renaissance palaces maintain the captivating works of well-known artists from the Medieval, Renaissance, and Baroque periods. Vatican City embodies the peak of the artistic masters who are represented in both in the design of the basilica and through the works that are displayed throughout the galleries that span multiple millennia of history.
Several nights spent in Naples will uncover a different side of Italy, as the chaotic city revels in its position by the sea and holds thousands of years of historical artifacts amassed through trade, conquering, and collections. The lavish design of Caserta Palace resulted in one of the largest royal complexes in Europe. Reach back in time to the ancient cities of Herculaneum and Pompeii, each offering insight into the lifestyles of Roman citizens in the 1st century AD. Sample the flavors of the traditional pizza Margherita with a private cooking class and develop a base for crafting the dish in the place pizza was born. Traverse the grand halls and the vibrant galleries of the National Archeological Museum for deeper insight into the masterful works of the ancient world uncovered during the archeological excavations of the buried cities around the Bay of Naples.
The next few nights spent in Positano will introduce you to the charm and the splendor of the Amalfi Coast. Spend time on a moderate hike to the peak of Mount Vesuvius for a different view of the volcanic summit that buried Pompeii and Herculaneum, but also offers a stunning view over the bay. Learn about a vineyard that is returning to the ancient production of vines and producing a wine nearly identical to its source-grape from Pompeii. Travel along the beauty of the Amalfi Coast to visit the numerous towns separated by the protruding mountainous crags and the shimmering Tyrrhenian Sea to reach Amalfi, Ravello, and Vietri sul Mare. Wander the gorgeous island of Capri at your leisure to enjoy the small towns, the majestic karsts, and the grand villas, including the former palace of Roman Tiberius. My husband and I just returned from an incredible trip to Italy celebrating our 20 year anniversary. Our agent with this Italy travel company planned a trip that was exactly what we were hoped for: stress-free, full of activities (but not overwhelming), romantic, and beautiful. On a trip with so much details there are plenty of opportunities for something to go wrong but every tiny aspect was handled perfectly!! Within five minutes of stepping into any car, the driver’s phone rang. It was one of our agents making sure everything was fine and there were no problems. Our agent made our trip incredible! His attention to detail, vast knowledge, and ability to read people to figure out what and how to plan their trip allowed my husband and I to enjoy each other and our surroundings.
We spent the first two nights in Montalcino. I imagine it is challenging to make a castle cozy and charming, but they succeeded! The castle was more than we could have ever hoped for with an interesting history, beautiful pool and views that were out of this world. The staff was friendly and helpful; the rooms were tastefully decorated and roomy. The castle's restaurant served us the most incredible meals with wonderful wine. We went cycling through the vineyards, enjoyed the wine tasting room, experienced a cooking class by the head chef that was entertaining as well as informative. We actually replicated his meal within a week of arriving home.
We left Montalcino for Rome and spent four days exploring the city. We had a private tour guide for Vatican City and Ancient Rome. With the large amount of people, everywhere, I can not imagine trying to navigate, enjoy, and absorb so much history and space without someone to help. He was full of information; it was obvious he loved the city and the history. We spent our time where we wanted to be, not trying to figure out how to get there or how to get around the masses of people. The hotel we stayed at is in a great location. The hotel was nice but it was all about the location.
We departed Rome for Sorrento where we dropped our suitcases at the hotel. Our room was beautiful with lots of room and a view that we ran to see every morning. Their patio overlooks Sorrento Bay and we enjoyed every sunset with a drink and beautiful sights. The staff at the hotel were very helpful with suggestions and a friendly smile. Our favorite place to eat was Donna Sophia, a restaurant that is located up a very narrow, scary but exhilarating street. We found the ride and the restaurant to be lots of fun with delicious food. We spent one day with a private driver and guide in Pompeii and Vesuvius. The next day we had a private driver that took us on the most beautiful drive to Positano where we again enjoyed the views, beach, and shopping. Unfortunately there was a wreck that blocked the road and we could not continue on to Ravello and Amalfi. Instead we spent a relaxing afternoon by the pool.
Our favorite part of the trip was a day spent on a private charter boat. It was amazingly scenic and beautiful while relaxing and peaceful. We enjoyed swimming, checking out caves, a lunch that was out of this world, and champagne while drinking in the sights. We ended our boat trip on Capri Island.
We spent two nights at the hotel there. It was absolutely breathtaking! The view from the balcony of our room can not be adequately described. It was truly the most magnificent sight I have ever seen. The staff went out of their way to be helpful. We had a small issue with a clothing store that was suppose to deliver a package the night before we left. When we woke and still had not received our goods, the staff at the front desk handled the situation beautifully and resolved our problem.

My husband and I, along with our 2 children (age 20 and 17), enjoyed a wonderful Italian vacation booked through Zicasso and this travel agency. Our travel consultants listened to my ideas and arranged for us a fantastic custom itinerary. They stayed within the budget allotted, offered choices for beautiful hotels and private tours, and made several revisions as per our request. We departed from New York on our 25th anniversary, and spent 10 days traveling the country within the month of November. This off-season time proved to be a great decision as reservations were easy to obtain, crowds were minimal (mostly all locals), and the weather was conducive for walking and sightseeing (average 60 degrees F). Transportation and the personal drivers were top notch; with Mercedes SUVs or minivans to take my family from Milan-Chianti-Florence-Verona-Venice and then the high speed train down to Rome. Accommodations arranged for us were phenomenal! We stayed in a 12th century castle in Chianti, in the heart of the city center in Florence, and near the Spanish Steps in Rome. The personal tour guides were friendly and knowledgable, and were happy to recommend eateries preferred by locals. All in all, everything was flawless. We plan to return some day to see the Amalfi coast, Positano and Capri. We would absolutely recommend these travel consultants, and the travel company team to anyone who is looking for a personalized Italian vacation.

We experienced a fabulous twelve night first trip ever to Europe staying in Rome, Sorrento, and Florence with day visits to Naples, Pompeii and Herculaneum, a drive with stops and photo-ops through the beautiful Amalfi coast villages to Ravello, and a day trip to historic Siena and San Gimignano through the Chianti region of Tuscany. Our travel consultant and her colleague at the company in Rome, proved to be perceptive to our interests, resourceful in finding spot-on solutions within our budget and patient professionals as we explored various itinerary options. Both women spoke and wrote english very well to thoughtfully help us plan our itinerary for three adults with private transportation and guides. Our private guides in Rome; in Pompeii and Herculaneum; in Naples; one a Canadian ex-pat in Florence; and in Siena, informed our discovery of each locale and its many treasures. We also did two small group tours. First, a farm/food tour near Sorrento with an incredibly informative and entertaining guide, and catacombs at Saint Sebastian with a nameless guide and small group of 9 during our Appian way visit and final full day in Rome. At times we were chaperoned in private vehicles with english speaking drivers knowledgeable of their territories. In Rome, in Naples, in the Bay of Naples Sorrento area, in Tuscany, and in Amalfi. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend this company to help others plan the vacation of a lifetime.

We had a fantastic trip that exceeded our expectations. We had an excellent trip planned with Marilisa and she was open to our ideas and to our requested changes and implemented them quickly and got back to us with the confirmation that it was done. The travel arrangements at the airports and daily for tours and excursions were always on time and with great drivers who were helpful and had fun conversations about where we were going and in-depth history. Their skills in driving the vans along the Amalfi coast was amazing and we were all so glad that we were in the hands of expert drivers on these extremely tight and curvy congested roads. Each tour guide was extremely knowledgeable about the area we went to. More commentary on the tour guides below. The hotels that were provided were great for the two groups. Each one had a good reason why they chose them. In Naples it was right in the center of the old town beaming with life and restaurants. The hotel had a fantastic breakfast room and a great bar service in the afternoon. The rooms were ok, nothing special. The hotel in Vietri sul Mare was a gem. Great location, great views of the ocean, friendly and helpful staff and had some great restaurants nearby. The hotel in Palermo was also right in the middle of the city center with great restaurants in walking distance, but the rooms were just ok, and the breakfast area was very tight to move around. The Resort in Taormina was fantastic also. Same owner as the hotel in Vietri sul Mare. Great location on the beach, easy to get to downtown Taormina. A great bar cafe on the beach and the breakfast area was overlooking the beach. A great place to spend our two free days at the end of the trip. The hotel in Naples was also beautiful for our last night, but we didn't get to use it much as it was the last night before flying home. Our only real disappointment was the first transportation of the trip from Naples airport to the hotel. The driver seemed to be in a hurry when getting us to the hotel. He didn't know the area very well and said he couldn't get any closer to the hotel due to the small roads. He pointed up the road and said it should be up there. We all had two bags to drag around while searching for the hotel. Luckily, we had our phones to use. He wasn't even on the right street, and we had to walk around to find it. The next morning our driver was right outside the hotel, so there was no problem with the road.
