The trip was very good. We loved Panama City and the excursions we took there. Our disappointment concerns Bocas del Toro and what we were led to believe there. The beach conditions on all of Isla Bastimentos were not favorable for swimming or snorkeling. The seas were too rough, although that was not communicated to us.

Zicasso’s travel agent planned the most wonderful trip to celebrate my husband’s retirement. We began in Panama City, staying at an amazing hotel in the heart of it all. He arranged a fascinating backstage tour of the Panama Canal, where we watched massive cruise ships pass through the final lock. A walking gastronomy tour led us to hidden culinary gems throughout the city, with a local café being my favorite stop. He also provided an excellent list of restaurants, conveniently located near our hotel.
Our next destination was Boquete, where we stayed at our resort in Boquete. The massages there were exceptional—be sure to book the volcanic clay massage; it’s unforgettable. We enjoyed a Geisha coffee tour (the most expensive coffee in the world), a rum-tasting adventure, and a hike along the Pipeline Trail. Some sections were easy, while others offered just the right amount of challenge.
Our final stop was, without question, the highlight of the trip: Isla Palenque. It felt like stepping into Jurassic Park—minus the dinosaurs. The views were absolutely stunning in every direction. The food was beyond amazing and the tours were educational and exciting.
Our travel agent truly makes dreams come true.

Zicasso’s travel agent was very competent and patient with us about our needs and wants, and was very accommodating regarding changes to the trip. Panama is a beautiful country, with great people and amazing animal diversity. We saw lots of birds and monkeys. And the beaches we visited were the most inviting ever!!

The trip was great. The hotels were particularly amazing and I have stayed at many hotels around the world. Tabacón was so unique, it could be my favorite part of the trip. My husband and son absolutely loved the resort and the gorgeous private beach (and monkeys).
All of the excursions were amazing, except one. The horseback riding was on such a unique and wide open trail, we felt like we were alone in paradise on horseback (and the boys both expected to hate it!). Except for the fishing, the guides on every single tour were truly incredible and enhanced every experience. I would think twice before recommending that particular fishing charter. They were barely friendly and very unhelpful.
Other than that, everything was perfect. Somehow, they even made the long ride from Arenal to Manuel Antonio pleasant. Zicasso's travel agent put together a wonderful experience.
