Detailed Description
Get off the beaten path on this 4x4 11-day adventure through a unique Peru tour for the strong of heart, curious questioner, random explorer, naturalist, observer, Andean lover, amateur astronomer, and anyone who has ever wanted to take their time experiencing the natural and ancient beauty of the countryside. Discover how breathtaking Machu Picchu truly is. This adventure encompasses the vast majesty of Peru, off the beaten path to where you may not have even known that the path existed at all.
Begin your off road adventure in Lima where the backdrop of the ocean shines against the opulent Spanish architecture. Climb aboard an SUV and journey out to the city of Ica along the arid coast, where the Paracas National Reserve stands along crashing waves and red sand. The Ballestas Islands are home to stunning birds, including pelicans and boobies. The bark of sea lions mixes with the rush of the waves, as you cruise through the sapphire water, and venture inland to the Huacachina Oasis; the sand dunes roll across the horizon, and the water is cool on your toes. Fly over the arid desert plain to see the mysterious and awesome Nazca Lines, predating the Inca with carved illustrations into the earth before you journey to Abancay and spend time amongst the magnificent purity of the National Sanctuary of Ampay.
Your adventure continues as you travel into the Sacred Valley of the Incas and witness the vivacious Pisac market where colors shine and the comforts of Peruvian cuisine abound. Ollantaytambo sits along the valley floor, an antique Inca city still occupied and eclipsed by the ruins carved along and into the mountain. Enjoy a 360-degree view of the valley on a train ride to the foothills of Machu Picchu. Step into this Wonder of the World and be guided through the Lost City, standing along the mountain tops where no roads could have taken you except for the ones built by the Inca. Venture into Cusco, the once Inca capital, and journey through the streets to see the remaining beauty of the Spanish architecture, Inca foundations, and Andean culture.
Return to Lima where the path of adventure follows, giving you ample opportunity and options to step away from the crowds and witness the spectacular water ballet beneath the starlight. Your adventure through Peru will take you off roads, up mountains, within valleys, circling islands, and to dancing, glowing water. Your heart will race over sand dunes and your mind will wander through history. You may be headed home eventually but there will always be another adventure waiting around the corner. We discovered our travel company through Zicasso and had an incredible experience planning and executing our trip to Peru. This was our first journey to South America and, since we don’t speak Spanish, we decided to work with a travel agent for this trip. Having planned all our travels around the world on our own, we were initially hesitant to entrust someone else with such an important task. However, our agent exceeded our expectations and made the entire process seamless and enjoyable.
From the very beginning – five months before our trip – our agent was a pleasure to work with. She was prompt, responsive, and attentive to our aspirations for the trip. After discussing the types of activities we wanted to include, she crafted a comprehensive itinerary filled with diverse and exciting options. Together, we refined the plans through a few iterations until we arrived at the perfect itinerary for our dream vacation.
Our two-week adventure in Peru was nothing short of amazing, taking us through the Amazon rainforest, the cultural heart of the Inca civilization in Cusco, the awe-inspiring Machu Picchu, the breathtaking Rainbow Mountain, the tranquil beauty of Lake Titicaca and the floating islands in Puno, and the vibrant coastlines of Lima and Huacachina, where we experienced sandboarding and a flight over the Nazca Lines.
Throughout the trip, our agent stayed in constant communication, providing detailed updates and guidance for each day’s activities. Every guide she arranged for us was a local expert with deep knowledge of the region’s history, architecture, and culture, which added immense value to our experience.
Even when we encountered a minor hiccup with one of the tours, our agent handled it promptly and professionally, resolving the issue without hesitation or resistance. Her dedication and attention to detail ensured our trip was smooth and stress-free.
Thanks to our agent and her incredible network of guides, we had a phenomenal experience in Peru. We highly recommend visiting this beautiful country and entrusting our tour company with your travel plans. Without a doubt, we would work with our agent for future adventures!

We just came back from a private 14-day-tour of Peru with this travel company. We visited Lima, flew over the Nazca Line, went to the Amazon jungle, visited the Sacred Valley, Machu Picchu, and Cusco, then finished up with the Lake Titicaca. Overall we had a great time. We are very happy with the itinerary, all the transferrings, most of the hotels and tour guides. Before the trip, we were worried about the mosquitos in the jungles and the altitude of the high lands. But we barely got any mosquito bites due to the dry season. We had spent several days in Sacred valley before heading to Cusco, nobody in our party had altitude sickness.

We asked for a Peru trip that included the Amazon rainforest and Machu Picchu; our agent took it from there. She arranged three days at a research center in the rainforest and then assigned us an expert guide who shepherded the two of us through the many Inca ruins in the Cusco area, and finally led us to Machu Picchu!
Everything went without a hitch; the hotels were very attractive, the food was interesting, and we did not suffer the "Revenge!". Our agent's tour earned our highest recommendation.
