The variety of Peru shines within its cities. It echoes within its past as well as its present, from its cultures to its topography, its regions to its ecosystems; all of Peru is open and ready for you to explore. From the country’s capital city to the high rising Machu Picchu, the seaside neighborhood of Miraflores to the riverside lodge within the Amazon Rainforest, uncover the diversity of Peru and let its majesty speak for itself.

Begin your discovery of Peru with the welcomed arrival into Lima. The capital city ranges in its spread from the seaside to the mountainside, where each neighborhood differs in culture, food, and slang. Arrive in the Inca capital of Cusco where the Spanish buildings recall a colonial past against the backdrop of Inca ruins lingering along the mountainside. The Andean culture thrives within the Sacred Valley. It is showcased at a lively Pisac market where traditions abound and colors glow, while the ruins of Ollantaytambo hover over the village, a not so gentle reminder of the past and the present. Enjoy the 360-degree view of the Sacred Valley as you train into the foothills beneath the Lost City, climbing into the mountains and witnessing the heights at which Machu Picchu is built, hovering over the valley below.

Continue your adventure arriving in Puerto Maldonado and journeying up river to the sensational Posada Amazonas Lodge where the wilds of the rainforest come to life. Traverse the walking paths and into the canopy of the Amazon to see the magnificent colors of birds and the undisturbed wild along the forest floor. Enjoy your time at the Tambopata Research Center where you can see the majestic display of color along the Macaw Clay Lick before cruising along ponds and lakes on an Amazon safari back at the lodge.

Travel Review: Peru Tour, Lima, Cusco, Sacred Valley, Puerto Maldonado, Lake Titicaca, Food Tour

Wonderful trip, although we were overly ambitious in trying to see five areas of the country in a 12-day span. This wasn't the fault of our travel agency, which accommodated our every wish. In terms of communication,  the agency could have provided trip details in a more timely way. As late as two weeks before leaving for Lima, we were worried about hotel and airline confirmations. But in the end, the agency came through in fine style.

In every city, we were met by competent guides, and the hotel accommodations ranged from good to outstanding. Our travel agency also handled our logistics well and helped get our trip back on track when Avianca Airlines abruptly canceled a flight from Puerto Maldonado to Cusco on Day 7. The cancellation meant that we lost a crucial day in Cusco, which forced us to skip a tour of the Sacred Valley and having one less day to adjust to the high altitudes we faced during the rest of the trip.

But  our travel agency adjusted our pickup time in Cusco and arranged for a shorter city tour -- making the best of a challenging situation. Also in Cusco, one of our hotels experienced a plumbing problem, which meant that our luggage had to be moved to a different hotel. Again, our travel agency handled this seamlessly.

Travel Review: Peru Tour, Lima, Cusco, Sacred Valley, Valle Sagrado, Puerto Maldonado, Machu Picchu

Our agent and his travel company helped us plan our Machu Picchu, Cusco, Valle Sagrado, Puerto Maldonado, Lima 14 day trip in November. Our agent was fantastic. He was able to reroute us when PeruRail went on Strike making it impssible to take the train to Lake Titicaca. Our agent went to work and found us our lodge in Puerto Maldonado---and all within 12 hours. Amazing.

Great hotels, guides, restaurant recos except for Lima's El Central which is totally a one off and enormously expensive.

Travel Review: Peru Trip, Lima, Cusco, Machu Picchu, Sacred Valley, Moray, Maras Salt Mine, Rainbow Mountain, Puerto Maldonado
There is not enough words to describe how much this trip was enjoyable. My travel company helped me set this trip in every step. They were very approachable and gave me many helpful tips. They even adjusted our trip to include the sites in Peru we wanted to visit. When we arrived in Peru, we were helped by guides and assistant guides in every step, thus we did not feel lost. I would like to give out special credits to the following guides who made our trip memorable:Our guide in Cusco - He made our visit to Cusco very smooth and made sure that he and his assistants were present in each step of the trip. He even contacted us almost every day to make sure we are okay and gave us updates on the following days. He even bought us snacks. Our guide in Sacred Valley - he was our guide for one day in Sacred Valley and taught us a lot about his Quechuan culture and Inca history. Very passionate about teaching us and very patient guide. In fact he gave us a lot of encouragement and boosted our moral when we said we will hike in Huana Picchu and the Rainbow MountainOur guide in Lima - I wont forget the friendly smile and greeting at the Lima airport on our first day. He gave an excellent city tour of Lima and in fact taught us a lot about pre-Inca pottery. I very much appreciated that he made sure that my brother and I went to the right terminals in the airport when we had to leave from Lima to Cusco. Our guide in Machu Picchu - He gave us an excellent history and guide of Machu Picchu. He was very patient with us, especially when we were taking a lot of pictures at scenic pointsOur guide in Moray - She gave us an excellent tour of Maras Salt Mine and Moray circular depression. In fact since she gave us a private tour, we took the advantage and asked her a lot of questions about the Inca and pre-Inca civilization. She was very gracious and taught us many things we did not know aboutOur 3-day/2nights trip to Puerto Maldonado was a great experience. We stayed at the hotel in the Amazon. We had a great stay. All the staff and the guides were helpful, which made this stay very memorable.I am so happy and lucky that I found Zicasso, who connected me with our travel company and gave us a memorable trip to Peru. I would highly recommend Zicasso and our travel company to everyone.

Luxury Peru Family Vacation Review: Cuzco, Lima, Aguas Calientes, Sacred Valley, Puerto Maldonado, Machu Picchu, Huayna Picchu Trek

We would highly recommend this Peru travel company to help you to organize your trip.  We came back from a two week-long trip to Peru a few days ago.  We have been independent travelers in the past so this was our first experience in being accompanied by guides for a good part of the vacation.  Paul from this agency contracted with the local tour operator to arrange transportation and guides.  His dossier contained everything we needed to know, including suggestions for tipping, places to enjoy a delicious meal, and more.  All of our guides  were very intelligent, passionate about what they did, had a great deal of pride for their country, and highly knowledgeable about the sites, history, culture, and traditions of their country.  We not only enjoyed the tours, but also learned quite a bit about the Peruvian educational and political systems through our discussions.  The guides were respectful and easy to share our time with.  My only complaint is that their English was so good that we were less apt to use Spanish, although that was counterbalanced by their willingness to teach us a little Quechua!  Special kudos to our guide who supported us when one family member became ill enough with altitude sickness to have to stay overnight at a clinic/hospital.  We traveled to Lima, Cusco, Aguas Calientes, Sacred Valley, and Puerto Maldonado.  While we enjoyed some activities in Lima, we probably could have shortened our three night stay there to either venture to another location or stay longer in one of the other places.  Cusco was simply lovely and we had great meals and tours there and in the Sacred Valley.  We were treated to a delicious lunch at a new place right outside of Moray.  We loved seeing Machu Picchu but also were glad that we stayed an extra day to climb Huayna Picchu.  Our stay in Puerto Maldonado was lots of fun--our days were full with many ecoguide-led outdoor activities, including a hot trek through mud to a boat ride (fun!!), a nighttime walk, a canopy walk, and boat rides (looking for caimans at night was a highlight).  Overall, we had an excellent trip which would not have been possible without Paul's help.  He listened well to our wishes, made suggestions based upon what we said, and arranged for wonderful accommodations for our family.  We suggest that you use this travel agency to book your next adventure.  And also highly suggest that you consider Peru as a fun and varied country to visit!

Peru Travel Review: Lima, Cusco, Puerto Maldonado, Puno, Amazon Rainforest, Machu Picchu

Our travel agency created a perfect itinerary for our trip to Peru.  The timing was good, the guides and service at each location were exceptional.  From our landing in Lima at midnight, being greeted by a rep and escorted to our hotel for check in, he was back to escort us to check in the next morning for flight to Puerto Maldonado.  The Amazon Rainforest was an exceptional experience, our accommodation was perfect. Guides at this resort were wonderful, food very good.  Onto Cusco, met by another rep who escorted us for 2 days on trips outside of Cusco, our guide was very knowledgeable and pleasant to travel with.  Hotel in Cusco was disappointment, this I have passed on to to our agency.   They responded instantly to our concerns, but I would not recommend the hotel to others. Left too much to be desired in a property.  Machu was amazing, resort property there was perfect, Puno was delightful, though altitude was bit of an issue.

all tours, guides, hotels aside from Cusco hotel were perfect.  I would highly recommend this travel company to anyone planning travel to Peru.

we could not have been more pleased with the entire experience....a fabulous country, with so much heritage and such accomodating and welcoming residents!

My sincere thanks,

Cathy D
