Day 1

Seville – Arrive in Seville for a Welcoming Introductory Dinner

Seville is a city of tradition and splendor, a doorway into Spanish history through the flamboyance and charisma of legend, preserved architecture, and captivating dance. Locals perpetuate the myth that Hercules founded the city more than three millennia ago, and Roman ruins confirm the early settlement as the Moorish filigree continues to inspire artists, architects, and visitors from around the world. Your private transfer will greet you at Seville Airport upon your arrival, and then you will make your way to your luxurious hotel that blends Old World grandeur with contemporary luxury.

Horses pull carriages along the historical city center, and their hooves clip against the cobblestones. Orange trees fill the air with the aroma of bright citrus as trams maneuver between the beaux-arts buildings of the more contemporary neighborhood. In the evening, you can make your way to a traditional tapas bar for an introduction into the small plates that are loved by locals and searched for by visitors. You will settle in a restaurant in the neighborhood of San Lorenzo, framed by two plazas and two churches. The aroma of garbanzo beans and sautéed spinach will drift from the doors and speak to the former harmony between Moorish, Jewish, and Christian communities across Spain.

Portugal Trip Review: Lisbon, Évora, the Dao Valley, the Douro Valley, Porto, Sunset Sail, Fado, Cathedral, Cork Trek, Wine Tasting, Monastery, Hiking, Port Tasting, 16 Nights

Our Zicasso travel agent curated a private tour for the six of us, including the perfect mix of historical, gastronomical, wine, and cultural experiences.

We stayed in Lisbon, Évora, the Dao Valley, the Douro Valley, and Porto. We traveled in a comfortable Mercedes van and, to break up our trips, we stopped at amazing sites along the way as we traveled from city to city.

Some of our favorite things were a private sunset sail in Lisbon, a fado dinner, the Évora Cathedral, a cork trek and wine tasting in Alentejo, the monastery at Batalha, wine tastings in Santar (Dao Valley), a boat ride on the Douro, wine tastings and hiking in the Douro Valley, the Bom Jesus shrine in Braga, the Port tasting and dinner in Porto, and multiple pastry tastings along the way.

Our guides were fantastic. They were attentive, on time, and very knowledgeable about the history and culture of each place we visited.

There were very few issues on our 17-day tour, which was literally one of the smoothest and best-curated trips we have ever had. We will use our travel company and agent again as we intend to go back to Porto and the Douro Valley.

Spain Trip Review: Madrid, Seville, Estepona, Cooking Class, History, Culture, Local Cuisine, 11 Nights

Our experience with Zicasso and the tour operator was nothing short of amazing. From start to finish, everything was thoughtfully planned and beautifully executed. The tours in Madrid and Seville were incredible, each filled with history, culture, and stunning sights. Our guides were knowledgeable and engaging, bringing the stories of these cities to life and making the experience even more special.

After the busy city days, Estepona was the perfect place to slow down and relax. We enjoyed exploring the charming streets, indulging in a little shopping, and taking part in a fun and memorable cooking class that gave us a true taste of Spanish culture. The balance between sightseeing, cultural immersion, and relaxation made the trip feel perfectly designed just for us.

A special thank you goes to our travel agent, who was simply wonderful throughout the entire process. He was patient with all of my many questions, quick to respond, and flexible in accommodating every addition or change to the itinerary. His attention to detail and genuine care ensured we felt supported and stress-free from the moment we began planning to the very last day of our travels.

The accommodations, transfers, and overall flow of the trip were seamless, allowing us to simply enjoy the journey without worry. This trip exceeded our expectations and created memories that we will truly cherish.

We highly recommend Zicasso and the tour operator, and especially our travel agent. If you’re looking for a personalized, well-organized, and unforgettable travel experience, this is the way to go.

Spain, Portugal Trip Review: Lisbon, Porto, San Sebastian, Barcelona, Seamless Travel, Wine, 10 Nights

My wife and I have been lucky enough to travel to many places around the world, but our April 2025 journey organized by Zicasso's tour company was easily one of the best. Our agent and her team thought of every detail. All we had to do was show up and enjoy these two beautiful countries!

We went to Four cities: Lisbon, Porto, San Sebastián, and Barcelona. The itineraries were thoughtfully planned to give us great experiences without wearing us out too much. And the guides in each city were fun, knowledgeable, and engaging. The transportation was always easy and on time, and the hotels were top-notch.

Morocco, Portugal, Spain Anniversary Tour Review: Casablanca, Porto, Lisbon, Sevilla, Malaga, Madrid, Sherry Tasting, Private Guides, Private Drivers, History, Culture, 17-Day Trip

Zicasso’s travel agency helped us plan a 17-day, three-country tour (Morocco, Portugal, and southern Spain). We were able to enjoy all the highlights of each city we visited with a very well-paced schedule!

The travel company's staff were flexible too! Adjusting the initial itinerary for cost and sites to visit was not an issue. We cut out a leg to Barcelona and some private drivers where prudent. We also adding things back in (i.e., a sherry-tasting experience, etc., was accommodated).

During our trip was where this travel company truly excelled. The staff very conscientiously checked in on us as our tour progressed and were proactively reminding us (via a messaging tool) of meeting places and the names of guides for the next day. They stayed on top of our itinerary and continuously inquired if they could do anything else! I enlisted their help when I had trouble checking in to our flight from Casablanca to Porto. At my request, she stepped in and helped successfully check us in! Knowing of my difficulties in checking in to intra-EU flights, she then took the initiative to check us in to our next flight from Lisbon to Sevilla! I even had a scare when I forgot some valuables in the safe in our hotel in Málaga, but she was able to retrieve them and send them to me in Madrid! It was comforting to know we had someone in our corner looking out for us!

We have gone with Zicasso on many trips, but this tour operator met and far exceeded our expectations for this trip! The travel company not only saved me a great disappointment for my forgetfulness, but provided very informative private guides, courteous drivers, and exceptional personal service throughout our itinerary! This was our 43rd-anniversary trip and they provided us with wonderful memories that will last us a lifetime!

Spain, Portugal Tour Review: Barcelona, Madrid, Toledo, Malaga, Granada, Seville, Ronda, Algarve, Evora, Lisbon, Sagrada Familia, Alhambra, Benagil Caves, Cuisine, Private Boat Ride, 19-Day Trip

My husband and I returned from a 19-day trip to Spain and Portugal on September 22nd and would highly recommend our travel agency, arranged through Zicasso Travel.

Our travel agent customized a trip, taking into account our budget and incorporating visits to Barcelona, Madrid, Toledo, Málaga, Granada, Seville, and Ronda in Spain, and the Algarve coast, Évora, and Lisbon in Portugal.

We easily communicated via emails, phone calls and zoom, and after four drafts we agreed to a final itinerary that met out interests, along with his excellent recommendations. Our agent was always gracious and understanding to the changes we wanted to make. He also included some down time on a few half days of tours to do some sightseeing on our own along with his recommendations.

Having planned two trips abroad ourselves in the past, and being older, it was so reassuring to have a competent and knowledgeable travel agent to take care of all train reservations, tickets, hotels, private drivers and tour guides. It was also reassuring to know if we encountered any problem during the course of our trip we could contact someone at a 24/7 emergency number. The train transportation arranged between a few cities went smoothly in the comfort of first class, our private drivers were pleasant, professional and informative and our individual tour guides that were arranged to meet us were prompt and so knowledgeable which made each tour all the more memorable. Lastly, our agent was able to provide the resources for us to meet some personal needs at each hotel where we stayed.
