Namibia, South Africa & Zimbabwe Review: Victoria Falls National Park, Luxury Africa Safari, Cape Town, Paragliding, Riverboat
We just returned from an amazing trip in Africa. This travel team did an amazing job setting up our tour, and everything worked out perfectly. The first 6 days of the trip were in Cape Town and Hermanus, and the guide they set us up with was fantastic. If you are going to Cape Town, definitely ask that this travel team set you up with him.  We had a wine tasting up on Table Mountain, we tryed Paragliding off of Signal Hill, the hotel at the water front in Cape Town was perfect as well. Hermanus for whale watching was nice, but I recommend that you stay a few extra nights at the Water Front and do that as a day trip.  We were supposed to do a Shark Cage Dive, but the weather didn't cooperate for that, so that is the main reason we stayed in Hermanus. Next we went to Ulusaba Lodge at a private game reserve by Kruger National Park. That was a 5 star amazing experience. It is owned by Richard Branson, and we loved every minute of it. Next we went to Zimbabwe to Elephant Camp in luxury tents, which were more like little houses with amazing views. We visited Victoria Falls as well. The staff there were also fabulous. The last part of our trip was on the Chobe Princess riverboat on the Chobe River in Namibia. Initially, it was a hassle with going through multiple immigrations on our drive to the get on the boat through Zimbabwe, Botswana, then Namibia, but in the end, it was all worth it. Seeing the wildlife by boat was a different perspective and an amazing experience. They would do multiple game drives via a smaller boat that was a tender for the riverboat.  We were able to bring it right up to shore an get close to Elephants, crocodiles, hippos, giraffe, and baboons. Overall, this travel team planned out a perfect trip for us. We got to see all of the "Big 5" plus almost every other animal you can imagine. All of our guides and staff were a pleasure to work with, the food was amazing. The only thing I wish is that it wasn't such a long journey to get there from the US. But it is a small price to pay for the travel time to make a memory like that! Thank you Zicasso for once again setting us up with a great Travel Agency to work with.

Review: Africa Safari, Botswana, South Africa, Namibia, Zimbabwe, Cape Town, Victoria Falls, Garden Route

I would rate This company 4.5 Stars: they were almost, but not quite, perfect.

From the moment we received our agent's original proposal for a trip to southern Africa for two seniors couples, we felt that she, more than the other agents who contacted us, truly understood what we wanted. Our major intention was to see African wildlife, but we also wanted to explore parts of South Africa. As we learned more about our destination, we requested changes, and our agent was patient and helpful in making suggestions and revisions.

Ultimately, she devised an itinerary that had us begin with a brief visit to Victoria Falls, continue with safaris in Botswana and Namibia, and conclude several weeks later with safaris in Kruger National Park and Thornybush Private Game Reserve in South Africa. This brilliant arrangement allowed us to maintain excitement about the safaris, each of which was substantially different,  and to have absolutely the best weather for each area because we were moving south as summer approached. Between these safaris, our agent arranged for a visit to Cape Town and environs, a self-driving tour of the Garden Route, and private guided trips to God’s Window, the Pot Holes, and the canyons near Hazy View.

Our agent also did a superb job in arranging accommodations. We did not want to stay in major chain hotels, so she arranged a series of absolutely charming boutique hotels and cottages. She also strongly urged us to stay in a Kruger Park rest camp, something we would never considered otherwise, but it turned out to be a splendid idea. The great variety in lodgings added interest and even excitement to the trip. At Hermanus, for example, we sat on our balcony drinking wine while watching whales breeching just off shore. To help us during our time of self-driving exploration, our agent provided a booklet outlining some interesting sites and activities.

On top of all this, our agent did an excellent job of arranging transfers, which were uniformly punctual, and in contracting private engaging guided tours in Cape Town, Hazy View area, and Johannesburg. She also arranged to have a superb private guide for our stay in Kruger National Park.

In all, our agent did an excellent job, with only the brief trip into Namibia falling short of our expectations and the high standards she established with the rest of the itinerary. It would be difficult to find an agent who showed more concern for making this kind of once-in-a-lifetime trip more pleasant, entertaining, and truly memorable. She receives our enthusiastic recommendation.

Travel Review: Africa Family Safari, South Africa, Cape Town, Kruger National Park, Hermanus Whale Watching

My family and I spent two weeks in S. Africa July of 2017 and got most of the ideas on what to do and where to stay from our safari travel planner and this company.  It was the best vacation, by far, that any of us have ever been on.  Each day was filled with new adventures and new sights and we have a wonderful set of family memories that will last a lifetime.  3 days in Cape Town, Whale watching in Hermanus, then 3 days each at two private game preserves close to Kruger NP.  The accommodations were excellent and everything like transfers, etc went off without a hitch.  It was as close to a perfect trip logistically as I could imagine.  The one time there was a tiny miscommunication on the whale watching, I emailed our travel planner and she fixed it from afar within about 10 minutes.   We all want to go back and visit another part of Southern Africa and will not hesitate to use this travel planner again.

Review: Luxury Africa Safari, Botswana, South Africa, Zambia, Chobe Game Lodge, Lions Sands Ivory Lodge, Okavango Delta

WOULDN'T CHANGE A THING!

Making a Safari in Africa was on the top of my bucket list and I wanted to do it “in style”. We also wanted a company who was located in Africa and who had established a good infrastructure. We hoped to avoid delays between inter-camps on the small planes.

All this was fulfilled by this safari travel company. They designed a programme for us where we were eased into safari life beginning with Chobe Game Lodge, then onto our first tent experience at Xakanaxa, then onto Okavango delta area for a water and walking safari experience. Our agent then organsed our trip to Cape Town and a sojourn to Hermanus by private car and then flew us back to the stupendous Lions Sands Ivory Lodge in Kruger. Of special mention in Hermanus is the charming Ocean Eleven B&B. The location, room and the breakfast spread deserve special mention.

Throughout our trip, all accommodation was wonderful, staff, game wardens and trackers most knowledgeable and kind, all transfers seamless (so we didn’t miss any game drives), the private car service for the Cape experience was excellent .. and of course, the animals.

On Safari, one expects to see many animals. Well, in the 4 lodges/camps that we stayed, we saw elephants, lions, leopards, spotted hyenas, jackal, spotted wild dogs, buffaloes, rhinos, impalas, kudus, sable, bush bucks, nyalas, waterbuck, wildebeest, giraffe, zebras, hippos, warthogs, baboons, small animals like banded mongoose, crocodiles and countless species of birds and the beautiful African frog. And then the whales in Hermanus

We stayed at : Chobe Game Lodge (3N), Xakanaxa Camp (2N), Okavango (Delta) Camp (2N) all in Botswana, Ocean Eleven B&B @ Hermanus (2N), Ivory Lodge, Lions Sands in Kruger, S.Africa (2N). We also had 3 nights in Cape Town and an over-nighter at Johannesburg.

We confidently recommend this company to anyone who is considering a Safari. On a scale of 1-5, we would give them the full 5 points.

Travel Review: Multi-Generational Africa Family Safari, South Africa, Zambia, Victoria Falls, Cape Town, Wine Country

My trip itinerary was a challenge from the start. The plan was to meet my son who is serving in the United States Peace Corps in Zambia. We needed to satisfy my husband and myself in our early fifties, my elderly parents, and my two sons in their mid twenties. Everyone in our group had an outstanding time while traveling through Zambia and South Africa. The attention to detail that we received from our travel planner was beyond our highest expectations. Every place we stayed at was exactly what we wanted. Most importantly was the fact that despite the 6 hour time difference between my home and our travel planner's, she was always easily accessible while planning this vacation.  There were so many details to iron out between hiring drivers and setting up my parents in a good location while we spent some time in my son's village. Everything went smoothly.

I did quite a lot of research before the trip and wanted to stay at the Royal Livingstone Hotel. While we did stay there for part of the trip, (incredible accommodations),  Our travel planner recommended that we spend two nights at  a lodge on the Zambezi River. I cannot say enough about the outstanding accommodations in their cottage, the wonderful hospitality of the owners, and the gourmet quality of every meal. It was truly a surprise and I never would have sought this resort out without the assistance of our travel planner. After being wowed there, we spent 4 amazing nights at the Thornybush Game Lodge near Kruger. The safaris were awe inspiring. The guides were knowledgeable and so much fun to spend time with. Truly the highlight of our trip. The final leg of our vacation landed us in the breath taking city of Capetown. We had four private tours arranged for us and we could not have been happier with our guide. After spending time with him in Capetown, Tabletop, a full tour of Cape Point, Hermanus, and then wine country, we truly felt as if he is a part of our family. Every suggested restaurant was incredible.

What more can I say? I have planned many vacations for my family prior to this trip, but organizing a vacation in Africa for a multi generational group was a daunting task. Finding this travel planner was a godsend. I knew from our first phone conversation we made the right choice! Her knowledge and travel experience in Africa gives her the edge over any travel agent from the States.

South Africa, Zimbabwe, Luxury Travel Review: Cape Town, Kruger National Park, Victoria Falls, Safari, 8 Nights

Our trip to Africa, organized by Zicasso’s travel company, included four days in Cape Town, four days in the Kruger National Park, and four days at Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe. There were six of us: four adults and two children aged seven and 11.

In Cape Town, we stayed in Camps Bay and were impressed with our hotel. We had a three-bedroom apartment that was very comfortable with kids. Arriving was seamless and our full-day Cape Tour was excellent. We have nothing but the highest regard for our driver. She was an excellent tour guide and very friendly. Cape Town is a beautiful city and we really enjoyed our stay there.

Our transfer to the Kruger National Park was seamless. We cannot say enough positive things about our experience at the lodge. The accommodation was very comfortable, the food was excellent and plentiful, and the staff were exceptionally friendly. Our guide and our tracker were very informative, much fun to be around, and terrific with the young children, who had an amazing experience. We got to see so much wildlife and all the Big Five.

From there, we had another seamless transfer to Victoria Falls. Again, our accommodation was superb and our experience with a tour to the falls, the river cruise on the Zambezi, and the elephant encounter were terrific, topped off by a wonderful dinner and show.

Overall, we would give a rating of 10 out of 10, with special thanks to our travel agent for putting up with so many of our questions and arranging such a wonderful itinerary.
