Germany Luxury Vacation Review: Frankfurt, Rothenburg, Black Forest, 10-Day Tour

Our trip was absolutely incredible. All the destinations were amazing; so charming and perfect for what we were looking for, which was small-town charm and to really immerse ourselves in the character and history of Germany! Rothenburg was our favorite destination, but the whole trip was incredible and so well laid out with activities.

The guides could not have been nicer or more helpful! One met us at the airport in Frankfurt and started us off with a wonderful tour of Heidelberg, really getting us into the groove. We were tired, but really enjoyed the quaintness and history of the town. From there, we went to Baden-Baden, a wonderful Belle Époque town with much to see, great shopping, and a fabulous hotel. Then, it was on and on with a tour of the Unimog Museum, a drive through the Black Forest with a visit to Lake Mummelsee, and an incredible visit to Rothenburg (a must-see). We ended with an afternoon and evening in Munich, with a walking tour of the Rathaus/town center area and, of course, a must-experience lunch in a beer hall/biergarten, and so much more. All the hotels and restaurants booked were fabulous. We cannot recommend Zicasso’s travel agency any more highly!

Travel Review: Tour of Germany & Austria, Munich, Salzburg, Rothenburg, Oberammergau, Linderhof Palace, Neuschwanstein Castle

We found this company through Zicasso.  We were contacted by our travel agent within couple of days.  We exchanged communications both via email and phone call for the next several weeks.  Our trip were to three cities in Germany and Austria and we wanted to splurge a little.  A few weeks before hand, we were given a day to day itinerary.  She gave us options for lunch and dinner each day as well as suggestions and options on the tours each day that we did not have a tour guide.  We travel to Munich, Salzburg, Oberammergau and Rothenburg.

We were pick up when we arrived in Munich.  As we entered our hotel room, our travel agent had already left the package with day to day itinerary,  maps as well as a I-phone for us to use.  All the locations were input in the contact list so that we can easily retrieve time.  Any of the non-guided tours, our agent has given suggestions on where to park.

We had booked a private tour to Neuschwanstein Castle and Linderhof Palace.  We were surprised that private tour was really a private tour, just my wife and I!!!  It was definitely worth it, no line and the guide answered all our questions and did not rush us along.

The dinner suggestions were fabulous.  Most of them were walking distance to our hotel.  However, if you are not a smoker, you might want to skip Carpe Diem in Salzburg.  They have great food, the restaurant is on the 2nd floor (non-smoking), however, the bar is on the first floor (smoking).  The smoke comes right up the center stairway.  Food is great though.

All the hotels that we stayed at were wonderful!  We had a room that overlook the Viktualienmarkt in Munich, a corner suite overlooking the river and historic city of Salzburg.  An awesome room in Oberammergau.  And a charming suite in a 800 year old building in Rothenburg where the hotel staff were friendly and attentive.

We wish we could have make it a 3 week vacation and tour more cities in Germany.  If we ever go back, we will definitely use  this company again.

Germany, Austria Vacation Review: Berlin, Munich, Salzburg, Leipzig, Neuschwanstein Castle, History, Museums, 10-Day Trip

We decided to do a river cruise in Germany which started in Berlin. Since this was our first visit to Germany, we worked with the Zicasso travel agency to develop a nine-day exploration of a small part of Germany prior to starting our cruise. Working with our agent, we decided to start in Munich and explore areas easily reachable from there and then travel to Berlin for the remainder of the time. We arranged private tours in Munich, Salzburg, and Berlin. We also had a private driver for the day who drove us to Neuschwanstein Castle and the Pilgrimage Church of Wies. She also arranged train tickets to Salzburg, Berlin, and Leipzig.

Our accommodations in Munich and Berlin were excellent. We could easily walk to the Marienplatz and train station in Munich, and tram and bus stops were near our Berlin hotel. She also made recommendations about things to do on the days we explored on our own. The detailed itinerary with photos and suggestions was available on the app and as a hard copy. It was very useful and kept us on schedule! While we did not need to reach out for help during our stay, they provided contact numbers, including if we needed assistance out of hours.

All the guides were excellent. They first asked what we were interested in and then provided the history of the cities, along with suggestions on things to do during our free time. In addition to sharing their knowledge, they provided pictures to enhance our understanding.

I would definitely use them again.

Germany Review, Luxury 12-Day Tour, Neuschwanstein Castle, Rothenburg, Heidelberg, Munich, Christmas Markets

The travel specialist and her crew planned the most amazing trip for us.  They literally saw to every detail and we were blown away by the service: from our personalized tour of Neuschwanstein castle to the most incredible hotel in the medieval town of Rothenburg, down to the smallest details of hotel transfers and meal reservations (including my dietary restrictions of being gluten free). We enjoyed the guidance of the personal tours in Heidelberg and Munich with the added ability to reach our tour company by phone at any time of the day or night when we were on our own (a unique perk that they provide in their top notch service). Their well thought out itinerary was perfectly detailed but also allowed us the freedom to adjust at our own leisure to explore separately. This was truly the most wonderful trip that we have ever experienced and this was due to the incredible service and hospitality of the travel team (more specifically the travel specialist) and the wonderful people that we encountered at the hotels and restaurants suggested to us.  For anyone considering traveling to Germany, there is no other travel company to consider!!

European Honeymoon Review: Germany & Austria, Salzburg, Munich, Oberammergau, Rhine Valley, Neuschwanstein Castle, Linderhof Palace

My husband and I recently visited Germany for our honeymoon.  The task of planning a 10 day trip to a foreign country was super overwhelming, especially while planning our wedding and renovating our house.  I decided to search for a travel agency and was paired with this agency through the travel website Zicasso.  I am SO glad that we found this travel company. We could not have asked for a more perfect trip. Our agent was with us every step of the way.  From the first email to our last day in Germany, our agent was working behind the scenes to ensure that we got the most out of our limited travel time.  Our travel agency worked with us months in advance to tailor the trip to our preferences.  When we arrived in Germany, the agency had our transportation waiting for us to take us to the hotel.  At the hotel, our detailed travel itinerary (when I say detailed, I mean a thick bound book complete with tickets, brochures, driving directions and maps, dinner and hotel reservation information) and cell phone were waiting for us. We spent a few days in Munich, Salzburg, Oberammergau (our favorite), Rothenburg, and the Rhine Valley. In Munich, we had an absolutely wonderful tour guide who was very knowledgeable and made sure we didn't get lost in our jet lag daze. The rest of the trip was self-guided (as was our preference), but our travel agency made sure that we had ideas for activities each day. If we had questions about anything, our agent was just a call or text away.  Without this company, we would not have gotten to go on half the adventures we did (Linderhof Palace, Neuschwanstein Castle, Berchtesgaden salt mine, winery tour, Rhine River cruise, Rothenburg nightwatchman tour, an overnight stay in a castle, climbing the St. George Church's steeple in Nordlingen...). All of the restaurant and hotel suggestions were excellent.  If we are fortunate enough to return to Germany in the future, we will definitely use this travel agency again. They deserve 5/5 stars in every category.

Travel Review: Luxury Germany Family Vacation, Berlin, Munich, Rothenburg, Quedlinberg, Rhine River, Neuschwanstein Castle Tour

Can this company deliver a perfect vacation for a family with teens? You better believe it.

We just returned from 11 days in Germany and I can honestly say that this travel agency delivered a flawless trip and exceeded our expectations every single day. I normally plan our family vacations, but my family had a huge wish list of things to do/see and was no way I could make it all work. I wanted to see the WWII and cold war historical sites in Berlinand Munich, my daughter wanted to spend the night in a castle, my son wanted high adrenaline activities, my wife wanted to visit family in ancient Quedlinberg and see mad king Ludwig's Neuschwanstein Castle (aka, the fairytale castle). Our travel agency's team interviewed us over the phone, listened to our huge list of goals, asked a ton of questions about how we like to travel/eat/explore, and then came up with a trip itinerary that met all of our goals.

The travel agency took care of every detail for us -- including every hotel booking, every train ticket, every transfer, the rental van, every tour, and every dinner reservation. It was 5-star in every selection, and completely turnkey. Some of the best touches were:

1. Delivered a remarkable binder with day-by-day plans with the rail tickets, tour vouchers, maps, etc., in plastic sleeves so that we always had everything at our fingertips. The plan for most days included a half-dozen optional activities and two or more restaurant recommendations.

2. Provided us a German iPhone with unlimited data so we always had internet access, texting/calling with the travel team, and Google Maps.

3. Our guides gave just our family of four private tours of Berlin for 3 days, of the Romantic Rhine for one day, and of Munich for 2 days. The company founder and president, even picked us up at theFrankfurt rail station after already fetching our rental car and gave us a driving tour down the Rhine to our castle hotel --- it was a great personal touch. All of the guides were remarkably knowledgeable and adapted the tours to our interests and pace.

4. Arranged for a private tour of Neuschwanstein Castle at 8:30am in the morning before the first public tours started after 9am. We had the whole castle to ourselves!

5. Booked us into an epic castle hotel on the Rhine. Our room had a secret passageway way behind a bookshelf, which was totally Harry Potter and my daughter was in absolute heaven.

6. Booked us into great hotels in the hearts of every city -- we could literally stumble out of bed into the market squares in Rothenburg, Munich, Quedlinberg, etc.

7. Every time we got off a plane or train, there was someone there holding a sign with our name on it ready to take us and our mountain of luggage.

The planning process before the trip was easy. Our travel agency proposed an itinerary after our interview call. We discussed it as a family and asked for some changes, which they made. And then we asked for more changes. And then more. We always got what we asked for. We did most of it by email with everyone was all super helpful.

Yes, you need to pay in advance. I was super hesitant about sending those big checks to Germany, as I am sure other people are. I can confirm for you that this company is the real deal.

I could not recommend any organization higher. From the thoughtful planning to the personal communications during the trip to the flawless execution, our trip was the perfect family vacation. Feel free to message me if you have any questions.
