Travel Agent Review: Israel & Jordan, Jerusalem, Eilat, Tel Aviv, The Dead Sea, Amman, Petra, Wadi Rum Desert

We worked with the travel company to build out a 2 week custom itinerary that started with a few days in Jerusalem, then the Dead Sea and Eilat.  We then crossed over to Jordan and saw Wadi Rum, Petra, Amman and then crossed back into Israel and saw the northern part of Israel ending our trip in Tel Aviv.

Overall the trip was very good and we really enjoyed all the sites, learning about the history.  Our guide in Israel was excellent - very knowledgable, friendly and extremely flexible. We had changes and he was very accommodating and we appreciated that.  Same was true as well as the tour company/guide/driver in Jordan.  The new Wadi Rum camp was absolutely fantastic.

The only part of the tour that was disappointing was the lack of attention to detail on meals. We had advised the travel company that we were vegetarian.  Our guide had no idea that we were vegetarian or where to take us to eat, nor were our dietary restrictions communicated to the Jordan tour company or guide. We ended up having falafal lunches most days or pizza at a strip mall. In Jordan, our lunch comprised of french fries and cold salad at rest stops. Dinners were fine since we did them on our own. If you have any kind of dietary restrictions, I would highly recommend work closely with the travel company to ensure they understand expectations.  If it was not for the meals, I would have given them a 5 star review.

Travel Review: Luxury Israel Vacation, Jerusalem, Masada, Eilat, Tel Aviv, Petra, Jordan Day Trip, History, Culture, Art, Cuisine

We booked a one-week private tour for two on very short notice -- less than a month.  Despite the short notice, our travel agency was able to put together a beautiful itinerary for us, covering most of the highlights of Israel.  We started in Tel Aviv, then headed north to Haifa, Akko and the Golan Heights, then down to Jerusalem via Beit She'an, then down to Eilat via Masada, a one-day side excursion to Petra, Jordan, then back to Tel Aviv.  Our travel agency provided excellent service throughout.  The hotels we stayed at were all very nice, and our guide/driver was extremely knowledgeable.  Our travel agent called me personally on our first night in Tel Aviv just to check in and make sure we had arrived safely, which I thought was a very nice personal touch.  In short, we were well looked after from the time our plane landed in Tel Aviv until we were dropped off back in Tel Aviv at the end of our visit.

Israel & Jordan Luxury Tour: Jerusalem, Petra, Wadi Rum, 12-Day Trip
Melanie was very prompt in her replies and provided answers to all our questions. Her suggested itinerary was much appreciated. Her local point person was also with us at every step. This is my second trip with Zicasso ( Morocco in 2016). I do appreciate your assistance in areas that I am nervous to plan on my own (language, safety and booking issues). A few suggestions and observations to help improve for the future. Regarding our guides.  We are not your tourist that has a checklist to visit every place that is of interest.  We read the history, politics, culture of the place we intend to visit - in great detail.  Our guide in Israel was one of the best guides we ever had. He was intelligent and informative and respected the fact that we had a respectable knowledge of the area and the sites that we were going to see. On the other hand - our guide in Jordan, albeit a very kind and obliging person -was inadequate in his knowledge and expertise as a guide. He definitely needs some refresher training- I knew more about Jordan than he seemed to! I think he is used to big buses of tourists who just wander and take pictures.  Dinners were to be on our own. I am very used to researching and booking dinners around the world. Melanie should have been proactive regarding this, especially due to Shabbat in Jerusalem and the limited information on Jordan available to the outside world.  Once I had made some reservations on my own- Melanie did get back to me with reservations. I was very upset when the local tour company wanted to charge me for making dinner reservations!!! As a tour company - that should have been a given! Our guide in Israel was amazing - not only did he suggest places in Jerusalem (on a holiday) but also made phone calls for us (we cannot speak the language). Regarding Petra by Night- it was a total waste of time - but if the event changes it will be great.  Our itinerary was great! We loved the camp in Wadi Rum.

Family Trip To Israel Review: Acre, Tzfat, Jerusalem, Dead Sea, Archaeological Sites, Olive Oil Farm, History & Culture
Very professional travel company.  Engaged us right away to find out exactly what we were looking for rather than offering a cookie cutter package. Very accomodating to all requests and last minute changes. The company put us together with a fantastic guide who not only guided us through various sites and was able to modify itinerary on the fly due to interests and energy level but also appeared to have a broader plan for the week to enlighten us on Israeli history and the geopolitical issues of the region.  Given his extensive knowledge, it was like taking a touring course on Israel while seeing the sites. The trip was a nice mix of historic and cultural activities, nice variety from archaeological sites to an olive oil farm. While guides sometimes may shy away from sensitive political discussions, our guide embraced these and tried to expose us to multiple different viewpoints and the political complexity of the region. This was overall a fantastic and very memorable trip.

Review: Luxury Middle Eastern Tour, Israel, Jordan, Jerusalem, Tel Aviv, Acre, Petra, Eilat, Masada, Israel Museum, Yad Vashem

We had a 2 week tour of Israel including a day-trip to Petra in Jordan.  Our Middle Eastern travel agency organized an itinerary based on our interests in history, archaeology and religion.  Our guide had a prodigious knowledge of all of these areas and more.  Some of the sites included in the itinerary were unknown to us despite our research but proved to be of great interest; we were glad they had been included.

All of the details of our trip were well arranged.  Throughout our trip we felt well cared-for by our agency and confident that any issues that might have come up along the way would be dealt with by them.  If we return to Israel, as we would like, we would most definitely use their services again.

Israel & Jordan Trip Review: Nazareth, Capernaum, Golan Heights, Jordan Valley, Beit She'an, Jerusalem, Masada, Petra
Our trip to Israel and Jordan was really wonderful! Nathan of this travel company really listened and worked with me to plan a customized trip that was perfect for us (couple). Although our time in Israel was only 6 days, we did so much - Galilee area (Nazareth, Capernaum, Golan Heights, Jordan Valley, Beit She'an and more), Jerusalem (Old City, Museums and more), Masada, Dead Sea.... We had an excellent guide who not only was able to guide us away from the crowds or tourists, but also knew so much about the religious, historical, archaeological and political history of the region. We had many interesting and detailed discussions which enhanced our understanding of the whole Middle East. In Jordan, we were able to spend a day and a half in Petra, a truly wonder of the world. We would definitely recommend this agency for a trip to Israel.
