We recently returned from a trip to Costa Rica. The Zicasso travel company set it up for my husband, me, our son, daughter-in-law and grandsons aged 18 and 16. Their planning and execution were flawless.

Our agent, his wife, and our driver met us at the airport with chocolate and a Costa Rican print for each of us. We had transportation for all three places we visited (La Fortuna, Monteverde, and Manuel Antonio), as well as transportation for all our excursions. In La Fortuna and Manuel Antonio, we stayed at high-end resorts and loved them. In Monteverde we stayed at a hotel. The staff there were outstanding.

The travel agents checked on us several times during the trip and were always available if we had a problem. We had no problems, but they were always available if needed.

We had an amazing trip to Costa Rica and feel that, overall, the travel agency did an amazing job accommodating the needs/interests of our group of seven by finding fun and accessible excursions for us. 

All private transport was on time (or early) and the drivers were incredibly friendly. The accommodations were very nice and the tours were fantastic. We feel there was great value for the price we paid. This was a trip of a lifetime!

I visited Costa Rica years ago and have always wanted to return with my family. Zicasso and the travel agency helped me make that dream a reality! Costa Rica is filled with natural beauty and welcoming, friendly people, and everyone in my family had a wonderful time. The accommodations, connections, and excursions set up by our travel agent were flawless. He was easily accessible via WhatsApp during the trip to help smooth out any concerns we had. I would definitely use this travel company again!

The trip was perfectly organized. Our Zicasso travel agent was extremely helpful in arranging and coordinating the entire trip. Every transfer was smooth. The arranged trips and guides were at the best level. All the hotels were comfortable, with scenic grounds and great staff. We stayed at three hotels and they were all different from each other, which made it a fun experience.

On the occasion we needed to contact the 24/7 operations line, they were very responsive and helpful. A great addition to the trip. It was great to know we could WhatsApp a person with any question or concern. A great team.

I was very happy to have used a Costa Rican travel planner/service. I believe this greatly added to the efficiency of all the transfers and explorations. I never had any issue with checking in, getting picked up, and matching up with our nature guides.

I can't say enough good things about the entire team at our travel agency. If we ever return to Costa Rica, we will 100% use them again! Fantastico!

We made a last-minute request for a long (16 days) and complicated honeymoon itinerary in Costa Rica. Mercedes and the travel company team moved mountains to make our honeymoon dream a reality. My wife and I decided on Costa Rica only after our wedding and days before our vacation window closed. Mercedes with the travel company had to reassure us and manage our stress as well as wrangle many unique reservations on a very tight deadline.

I normally plan my own vacations, but given the complexity and deadline we needed help and reached out to Zicasso.  We interviewed a few travel agents recommended by Zicasso and Mercedes was the most organized with her presentation of options and the overall plan. She was very patient with us as we established trust and added numerous requests and changes. Being willing to jump on video calls with us was key in building that trust. She was very helpful in explaining the options and reassuring us that our travel goals would be met. We’ve never spent anywhere near this much on a trip before.

Mercedes has the connections! She has done the tours and gone to the places. Everywhere we went our naturalist guides seemed to be the best at what they did for that location. In Manuel Antonio, our guide had to reschedule with us, and it was worth the time change to stick with him!   We loved all of the hotels that we stayed at as well.  They were all unique and seemed to become even more impressive as our trip progressed.

Mercedes herself even greeted us at the airport. I’m a bit of a nervous traveler and worried about being taken advantage of outside of airports. None of that was an issue with her there and introducing us to our first driver.  She provided daily itinerary details and updates on an app while in CR. Replies on the app were quick when we had questions or requests.

Drivers are on staff and so most of our connections no matter where in the country were made by the same person or someone else on staff. We got very emotionally attached to one driver especially. All the staff speaks English very well, but we especially enjoyed our driver’s patience as we practiced our Spanish with her and asked her touristy questions about what we were experiencing.

We usually rent a car on vacations, and really only accepted the hired drivers as a consequence of needing to plan this trip with help on short notice, but my views have changed.  Especially in a new country, I would recommend it, not even for safety on the road, but for the chance to meet new people and relax and view the scenery.   There is a lot of beautiful scenery to see in CR!!!Finally, Mercedes made sure that we had a true honeymoon experience.  Most of our hotel rooms were decorated in honeymoon fashion--flowers, fruit bowls, chocolates, and wine/champagne.  We really appreciated the details and the delicious fruits.  (Especially, the chocolate-covered strawberries at the hotel near Manual Antonio!!! 

My husband and I planned this trip to Costa Rica as a gift for my grandson, age 13, and granddaughter, age 10. Most impressive was the Zicasso travel agent's choice of hotels.

In Arenal, we had a very spacious two-bedroom, two-bath unit. The master suite included an enormous spa which entertained the kids when a thunderstorm prevented them from enjoying the pool. This was a very safe, family-friendly resort overlooking the volcano. There were several hot springs and a swimming pool that we took advantage of. Breakfast was good and offered plenty of variety.

The hotel in Manuel Antonio was conveniently located within walking distance of an array of good restaurants. The unit was a modern three-bedroom, two-bath unit and the elevator took you directly to your unit.

In addition to the fabulous accommodations, every activity we booked went as planned and everyone showed up on time.

From the time we landed to our departure, we had a fabulous vacation. Zicasso’s tour company was a pleasure to work with, and a special thank you to our agent and our outstanding guide.

Our agent listened carefully to our expectations and planned a perfect itinerary that included all the excursions we requested. Her choice of guides was ideal for our multi-generation vacation. The itinerary was explicit, which was very helpful, as were the packing list and last-minute details. Every question we had was answered promptly.

We could not have been more pleased with our travel company and our nine-day trip to Costa Rica.

The entire trip was well organized and very well paced. I didn’t know exactly what to do in Belize, but told Zicasso’s trip planner that we wanted to get away for our anniversary, relax, and not feel rushed. She took that and captured the essence of Belize in the time we had.

It felt like our agent only worked with the best possible companies for each service we had on our trip. From transportation to adventure set-ups, every company we encountered in Belize was reliable, made confirmations the night before, and on time.

Our agent was also quick to respond to emails, very helpful, and honest about what she felt would be a good versus overrated/underwhelming adventure. And she was quick to problem solve, even while we were in Belize. For example, our cabana was unbearably hot, miserable to sleep in, and we dreaded having to spend any more time in the room than necessary. I sent her an email about the room on the first night before finally falling asleep. By morning, she had already contacted management and had our rooms changed. Done, like magic! No hiccups, no guilt trips; they apologized and made sure the room was acceptable before resettling us.

I know we will go back to Belize and I know we will ask our agent to help us find the hidden gems while we are there.
