Detailed Description
It is always a challenge to choose a vacation destination as nearly everything is possible. You can opt for culture, city, cuisine, the island getaway or the iconic country that seems so far away from everything else, but this handcrafted luxury tour is a combination of two very different vacations to offer it all. After days packed with adventures around Australia’s iconic sights, you will then experience the tranquility of doing nothing on a tropical Pacific island. A mesmerizing menu of experiences fills the first part of the tour, from famous landscapes like Uluru and the Great Barrier Reef to the unmissable cities and authentic encounters with Aboriginal culture. You can do and see a lot as you hop between the four destinations on this giant island of the Pacific. When you are done exploring, fly across the ocean blue to a tiny volcanic island, where the best thing to do is lie back and soak up the serenity.
Touch down first in Sydney, climbing the Harbour Bridge an excellent introduction to the cityscape. Check out Sydney Opera House, take a cruise on the Parramatta River, spend a day amongst the strange scenery of the Blue Mountains, and then fly north to Cairns. This is your gateway to the Great Barrier Reef as you combine snorkeling and a helicopter flight to experience the natural wonder from complementary angles. Spend a day following ancestral Aboriginal practices, and then fly to the sacred rock of Uluru, a monolith as spiritual as it is beautiful. Nearby, the pinnacles of Kata Tjuta reveal that Uluru is not just one giant red rock in the desert. A couple of nights in Melbourne will bring your Australian leg to a close, as wild koalas and kangaroos are amongst those that enchant in Australia’s south.
It will then be a full day of travel to Tahiti with a change of planes in Auckland before soaring out into the heart of the Pacific Ocean. The next morning, a short flight will bring you to the even more remote island of Bora Bora. Bora Bora is an island of pleasure, where what could be done today can be put off until tomorrow. Tropical colors swirl with the turquoises and sapphires and the shimmering whiteness of the sand. Your suite stands over a lagoon, accessed only by a bamboo walkway and for the best part of a week, you can indulge in simple pleasures as you soak up the equanimity and enchantment of one of the world’s great island escapes. Various activities are included in your package, but you do not have to do anything. When you can forget about time, these days will provide a balance to the exploration that has gone before. ~~I retired and my wife and I decided it was time to take the trip to New Zealand and Australia that we had been talking about for quite some time. I discovered Zicasso while doing my initial research for the trip and decided to give it a try, in addition to the many standard tours we were looking into. I had many different firms provide proposals and after doing my due diligence I settled on this firm.
Our agent listened and consistently provided options and insights that resulted in a month long itinerary that promised to deliver the experiences we were looking for. She was a pleasure to deal with.
We spent two weeks in New Zealand beginning in Auckland, moving south through Hobbiton and Rotorua where we gained a deep appreciation for the Maori people and their culture. Then on to Wellington the capital. The ferry to Picton and the train to Christchurch were inspiring. Then we drove from Christchurch to Mt. Cook and then on to Queenstown. The night we spent on Doubtful Sound was the all-around highlight of the trip. All throughout the tour guides, drivers and accommodations exceeded expectations. Then we were on to Australia where our first stop was Sydney. Alongside the Opera House and the Harbor Bridge a highlight was a half day guided tour of the city in a 1964 Holden. Then we were on to Cairns and Port Douglas where the Great Barrier Reef and the Daintree Rainforest awaited. Our day on the Reef was extraordinary. Snorkeling off the beach at Low Isle was an experience to remember. Our day on the Daintree River and in the rainforest was unforgettable. While driving we stopped as a male cassowary and four chicks crossed the road and disappeared into to the bush. Now we were on to Ayers Rock where the magic of Uluru awaited. The Sounds of Silence dinner in the desert as the sun set with Uluru in the distance and didgeridoo in the background was magical. As our time was growing short we were off to Melbourne where we joined a tour on the Great Ocean Road. Wow, the Twelve Apostles and the coast exceeded our expectations. What a great place. Only matched, maybe outdone by the hosts of the B&B’s we stayed at. We’re not big B&B folks, but the Lock Ard and Little River B&Bs were perfect and we will try more in the future.
Our agent had truly delivered a trip of a lifetime.

Our trip to Australia was a trip of a lifetime and it exceeded all our expectation thanks to our travel agent from the Australia tour company. Our agent worked with us tirelessly for months to customize a package to fit our needs and our budget. Our trip consisted of 10 airline flights, 8 shuttle transfers, 7 hotels and 10 tours. Every connection went like clockwork and problem free. Each tour was well managed and professionally done. Every hotel was clean and comfortable with 100% satisfaction from us. We were particularly happy with Tasmania in general and the Hotel Grand Chancellor Hobart.
Our 4 days in Sydney over New Years was fabulous and we loved the city. The Hunter Valley Wine tour was great and we were sorry to miss the Blue Mountain tour but it did not fit. Ayers Rock was enjoyable and we were glad to make it a brief stopover. Cairns was a beautiful location and we enjoyed our 3 days there doing Karanda and the Reef. As mentioned Tasmania was super special. We loved the Bruny Island cruise and the city of Hobart. We drove our rental car to Swansea with stops at the Bonorong Wildlife Sanctuary (highly recommended) and historic Richmond. After a visit to Freycinet National Park which was lovely, we drove to Launceston.
Our 3 days in Melbourne after our Princess cruise was also very special. We enjoyed the city and the Travelodge Southbank hotel. It had the perfect location next to the Eureka Tower, the riverwalk and the free tram for the city. We flew home on Australia Day which was a little disappointing but no one considered that before the trip..

Six of us used this travel company to set up our 10 day Australia trip. We all very much enjoyed it. The accomodations were very good and the tours were too, for the most part. Following are my complaints-
1. We were scheduled to fly from Uluru to Cairns via Sydney. The flights are approximately 3 hours each with a layover in the Sydney airport of about 3 hours. HOWEVER, there is a direct flight from Uluru to Cairns. Why were we not scheduled for that?
2. When we arrived in Cairns we had a driver who delivered us to our hotel. We arrived precisely at midnight only to find that our rooms were on the third floor and no elevator was present. Imagine 3 exhasted men (66, 67 and 75 years old) carrying 50 pound suitcases up 4 flights of stairs at midnight. To say the least we were VERY unhappy.
3. Last, the ABORIGINAL DAINTREE TOUR was not adequately described. This involved walking for 2 hours in the ocean, mangroves and iun the sun. I honestly thought that my wife was going to faint. She had to use a garden hose to wet her hair and head.

We had a spectacular trip to Australia in August, 2017 (family of 4, kids 9-11). Destinations were Sydney (with side trip to the Blue Mountains), Uluru/Ayers Rock, Cairns/Port Douglas and Brisbane. The travel agent was easy to work with and very flexible to our needs. Transportation was prompt and efficient. The travel agent was helpful in changing the times of some of our taxis as well. Great mix of scheduled tours and free time. Hotels were great and large! We had read some questionable reviews online about one of the hotels but, after speaking with the travel agent, we stuck with it and it was fantastic! We shouldn't have worried--the agents know what they are talking about. The tours arranged were excellent. Wish we could have stayed longer!

A LONG OVER DUE REVIEW.
A year ago the trip planner was finalizing the final touches on my trip to Australia for New Years Eve. The trip was organized for my father and I to visit various regions of the country. Because of my father's age, and it being summer, the trip planner provided some amazing ideas for the trip. Plans actually changed twice, once due to a cyclone hitting Hobart Island and the other just due to logistics. In any event, the trip was absolutely amazing and was exactly what my father wanted for his "bucket list" trip.
The trip planner's knowledge of the region was imperative to us building the right agenda. We were able to spend New Years in Sydney for the most amazing fireworks display in the world. Then we visited Hamilton Island which in Whitsundays to visit the Great Barrier Reef. The privacy and scenery of this island was breathtaking and not to mention, this is one of the few places where you can actually hold a koala, which I did.
After departing Hamilton Island, we spent a night in Cairns for a stopover on our way to Uluru (Ayers Rock) which is in the desert region....and yes, its hot. Although it was extremely hot, the experiences were totally worth it.
If you are looking for a knowledgable guide to build out a custom trip, look no further. I can assure you that your questions and concerns will be noted and addressed by the trip planner. We (my father and I) spent hours communicating with the trip planner before actually booking and the attention to detail was obvious during the trip. I would totally recommend the trip planner to anyone and he created the greatest experience for my father and I.
I will always be grateful.
