Cairns – Arrive in the Relaxed Ambiance of the Tropical Queensland City
Cairns is considered the gateway to Queensland’s tropical north as the entrance to the Great Barrier Reef spreads through the South Pacific waters along Australia’s east coast. The lush vegetation of the rainforest sweeps across the mountains of the Great Dividing Range and touches the white-sand shores of the coastline. Your flight lands at Cairns International Airport where your private transfer will meet you at baggage claim. Locals and visitors alike stroll in the sunlight along the Esplanade, a vibrant seaside walkway, adorned with playgrounds, lush parks, and a stunning swimming lagoon crowned by sculptures of fish floating through the air. Mangroves edge the walkways hiding parakeets and macaws.
You will easily settle into the resort style comfort of your hotel, basking in the balcony and views to the lagoon pool and tropical gardens. You will be able to hear the slight rustle of the calm waters as they brush against the shoreline and the scent of sweet blossoming orchids seems to overtake the briny aroma of the sea. The remainder of the day is yours to enjoy the scenery and the charms of Cairns, from the sight of flying foxes dangling upside down in the mango trees, to watching spoonbills scoop wet sand up from the beach in search of a tasty lunch. North of the town the gold, powdery sand of Palm Cove beckons to visitors and locals alike, lined with cafes and glinting with indigo waters cast against the emerald hues of the swaying palm fronds.

Our trip to Hamilton Island and the Whitsundays with Zicasso was absolutely incredible! From start to finish, our travel planner made the entire process seamless and stress-free. He was extremely helpful and communicative throughout the planning stage. He took the time to understand what we were looking for and tailored the itinerary perfectly to our interests. His recommendations were spot-on, from the beautiful accommodations on Hamilton Island to the amazing boat tours around the Whitsundays. Every detail was handled with care, making it easy for us to relax and enjoy the breathtaking scenery.
Snorkeling in the Great Barrier Reef and exploring Whitehaven Beach were unforgettable highlights, and it was clear our agent’s expertise ensured we had the best possible experience. We are so grateful for his attention to detail and support. We highly recommend Zicasso and our agent to anyone planning a trip to the Whitsundays!

I really thought the Zicasso travel partner was fabulous and so thorough and easy to use. I would rate it the best travel app. It had my itinerary down to the minute detail, info on how to contact various people if there were any questions, and was so easy to navigate. I would rate my trip to Australia my favorite so far. I recently went to Japan through a different travel agent and was able to compare the difference. Our travel team was so much better!
My husband and I went to Australia to drop off my daughter, who was doing an exchange study in Sydney. We started in Melbourne and had a full-day tour to Phillip Island, with a moonlit animal sanctuary and penguins. I would recommend the penguins. I saw thousands of penguins. What an experience! I did not like the sanctuary part. Tickets were sold out for the koala petting and there were not very many animals to see. I have heard there are other sanctuaries/zoos in other parts of Australia that are much better.
The Melbourne food tour was fantastic! Our tour guide did a wonderful job of explaining Melbourne's history with the food. We flew to Cairns, to Port Douglas, and had two excursions: a boat ride with snorkeling in the Great Reef Barrier and a Daintree safari. The full-day cruise with snorkeling was wonderful, with so much food! The Daintree tour was a bit long and could have been condensed into half the time. I probably would not recommend that tour.
Finally, we went to Sydney to drop off my daughter. We did the bridge walk, which was fantastic. Each person was so well protected and the safety checks were top-notch!
Our trip went without any problems and our drivers were well-coordinated and on schedule. I would use this company for future trips to Australia. I plan to visit New Zealand and would use them again.

This was our first trip to Australia. Zicasso’s travel agent took time to get to know our family and how we like to travel. She gathered our interests and preferences, and carefully curated an itinerary that showcased Sydney, Melbourne, and Cairns/Port Douglas, all within our budget.
This travel agent was very responsive before and during our trip, and monitored our activities to make sure we were happy. In fact, during our stay, one of our excursions (kayaking in Cairns) was canceled due to weather and she was right on top of it. She was able to book us immediately on another expedition (whale watching) of our choice. We appreciated her responsiveness.
Overall, our entire family was extremely happy with our travel agent's arrangements and had a memorable trip to Australia.

My wife and I wanted to attend the Australian Open and snorkel on the Great Barrier Reef, but we weren’t sure how best to spend the rest of a two-week vacation in Australia. We reached out to Zicasso and they put us in touch with two travel planners. We had telephone conversations with both planners and both submitted preliminary ideas for our trip. Both planners were very professional and had great ideas, but the agent we chose recommended an itinerary that more closely matched our interests, abilities, and budget. She continued to work closely with us to fine-tune our adventure. The trip was fantastic! Everything our agent arranged ran very smoothly and all the people she put us in touch with were wonderful to work with. We cannot say enough nice things about her and Australia!

Zicasso once again provided us with an amazing team to handle every detail of our "bucket-list" trip.
This adventure had a lot of moving parts and our travel agent performed like a Swiss watchmaker! Eight flights, with pick-ups and drop-offs that were on time, every time, even our 3am departure to the airport in Cairns.
We had scuba-diving excursions on both coasts of Australia, a helicopter tour and landing on the Franz Josef Glacier in New Zealand, trips into the rainforest at both destinations, incredible boutique hotels, and interesting tours that made our itinerary a lifetime memory.
If there was a six-star rating, our travel agent should get it. Highly recommended. Pre-trip communication was excellent as the trip was a year in the planning. We had not one issue during the 21-day trip. I can't stress that enough; not one issue. It was an absolutely amazing trip. Thank you, Zicasso team!
