Review: Luxury Trip to Austria & Switzerland, Lucerne, Zurich, Innsbruck, Hallstat, Vienna, Dunstein, Wine & Cheese Tour

We loved the trip.  We would like to thank our travel company for encouraging us to have personal tours of each of the cities.  We were hesitant because we like explore cities on our own and we did not think this was worthwhile.  For the most part, we were wrong.  We loved most of the tours as we gained insight on the cities, their history, and culture.  We also picked up tips on local restaurants, bread bakeries, pastry shops, etc.  We were taken to sites that we would have never found or been able to see.  The tips the travel company provided were extremely helpful.  Having in country partners for travel questions/issues was great.  The hotels were great and were in perfect locations.  Some of them had fantastic views from the room.

Luxury Vacation Review: Switzerland, Italy, Croatia, Bosnia, Herzegovina & Montenegro
We had a superb trip!  Our trip over 28 days encompassed overnight stays in 12 cities in Switzerland, Italy, and Croatia plus day visits to Bosnia Herzegovina and Montenegro.  The trip was flawlessly planned and executed with several added surprises that were delightful. The drivers and vehicles were excellent.  All of the guides that were arranged for us were knowledgeable, personable, professional and spoke English well.  Where train travel was involved the tickets and schedules were all as we needed and expected. It was a complicated trip that was well laid out by this travel company giving us few one night hotel stays (as we wished).  The selected hotels were in great locations.  The travel company had great suggestions that enhanced the trip and made it both memorable and fun. In fact, left to our own we could not have planned or executed such a fine trip.

Switzerland, Czech Republic & Austria Trip Review, Historical Libraries & Literature, Fine Dining, Beautiful Scenery & Small Towns
We are several weeks past the return from our trip, but we are not out of raves for the entire experience. We asked for a highly customized trip to visit the great old libraries of the world across several mid-European countries and were richly rewarded by the excellent transportation, drivers, and guides provided by the travel company. This was a fabulous and life-affirming experience. It would not have been possible without the careful planning and research done by our travel planner and his colleagues at this travel company. The hotels that were arranged were central and convenient in the cities in which we stayed and their personnel were friendly and incredibly helpful, adding to the enjoyment of our trip. Food recommendations, especially a food tour that was booked for us in Prague, were spectacular. Given our focal interest in centuries-old libraries and literature, the planner and his crew found top-notch experts in each location who deepened our understanding of the incredible edifices we toured and their histories. Then, especially in route from Prague to Vienna, we must exclaim about the beautiful alpine scenery and small towns. Noting that we were also very interested in nature, our driver-guide detoured to take us to mountain locations that were personal favorites of his. Spectacular! It’s simply difficult to say how much we enjoyed this trip in every detail.

Travel Review: Tour of Switzerland & Austria, Vienna, Salzburg, Lauterbrunnen, Weggis, Schoenbrunn Palace, Cultural Tours & Hiking

This travel company handled all the arrangements for our trip to Austria and Switzerland in August. I'll focus here mainly on the Austria segment, because they needed to handle much more for us in that segment.

We spent 6 days in Vienna, and 1 in Salzburg. The travel company booked us into the most amazing hotel in Vienna. It was in the older part of Vienna, very central and easy to walk to all the major sights, but on a very quiet street - exactly what we had hoped to get!  The rooms were suites - sparkling clean, comfortable and modern, and the breakfasts were amazing!

We also booked 2 tours through them - one was a Vienna highlights tour, including entry into Schoenbrunn Palace. The other tour was a Vienna Woods tour. Our tour guide and our driver, who also did the transfers, were absolutely wonderful. Our guide was incredibly knowledgeable and gave us great historical and cultural insights we would not have got by ourselves. For both our tours, we actually continued on by ourselves from where we ended the tour (Schonbrunn Palace and Baden respectively) and our agent made sure to tell us how to get back to our hotel. Our driver was terrific all round, and specially helpful on the transfer to the train station, where he showed us how to decode the wagon locations location so we had no trouble with all our other segments in Vienna and Switzerland from there on. He actually waited an hour with us at the train station for the Vienna-Salzburg segment to make sure we had no trouble.

The hotel in Salzburg was also wonderfully central and had a lot of charm, with an amazing breakfast. We did only self-guided touristing that day, but had an efficient and on-time transfer to the train station the next day on our way to Switzerland.

In Switzerland we stayed in Lauterbrunnen for 4 days and in Weggis on Lake Luzern for 3 days. Our hotel in Weggis was amazing, and here again all the train travel and transfers were very efficient and on time. We did not have any guided tours in Switzerland, since we were focused on hiking amidst all the scenic splendors, and there is a wealth of information on hiking trails and how to get to them available online.

I would highly recommend this company for travel to Austria and Switzerland.

(My sole caveat, unrelated to the travel company, is to go with hotels, not privately owned apartments, as we did in Lauterbrunnen, where we had hosts from hell, who were as inhospitable as it is possible to be.)

Switzerland, Austria Luxury Travel Review: Vienna, Local Cuisine, 10-Night Trip

Okay, first things first: massive kudos to our travel agent. Planning a trip, especially to mesmerizing places like Switzerland and Austria, is no small feat, but with this agency, every twist and turn of our journey felt like a breeze. From the meticulous planning and incorporating all our wishlist stops to the excellent communication before and during our trip, everything was impeccable. My wife and I were seriously impressed with how they kept us in the loop with timely updates, ensuring we were always in the know. Even the travel between the various stops was flawless.

And let's talk about the attention to detail! From booking those quaint hotels with jaw-dropping views to reserving spots for us at the most authentic joints in Vienna, they had everything down to a T. No cookie-cutter plans with them; it's clear they deeply value those unique, local experiences.

So if you're dreaming of a European escapade, I can't rave enough about Zicasso’s travel agent. A colossal thank you to him for making our holiday not just a trip, but an experience to cherish. We can't wait for our next journey with you!

Review: Family Tour of Greece & Croatia, Athens, Dubrovnik, Split, Santorini Sunset Cruise, Culture, Fine Dining, Wine Tours

This trip was absolutely fantastic. We stayed in some of the best hotels that had amazing locations. We were able to walk right into the Old City in Dubrovnik. Additionally our hotel in Split afforded us the same luxury of being able to walk right into the castle.

The mini bus that was provided for our family was beyond luxurious. We each had our own seat and plenty of space for all of our belongings. Furthermore, the expeditions that were planned for us were extremely well thought out and perfect for our family.

We absolutely loved working with this company. Anytime we had a question, our agent or one of his point of contacts would be there immediately to help us.
