Travel Review: Croatia Vacation, Dubrovnik, Split, Hvar, Krka National Park, Blue Cave, Boat Tour, 10-Day Tour
We just returned from our Croatian excursion and it was magical!  The scenery and the people were great!  We started our trip flying into the island of Split and the scenery upon landing was majestic.  Our hotel in Split was top notch.  From the pickup at the taxi to the room overlooking the Piazza it exceeded all of our expectations.  We also took an amazing trip to Krka National Park.  The waterfalls there need to be seen to believe.  They were beautiful.  From there we took the ferry to the island of Hvar and stayed at the Hotel. It was located within walking distance of the center of town to all the restaurants and bars that overlooked the Adriatic Sea.  We had a day long private boat tour of the various islands near Hvar as well as the popular Blue Cave excursion. Our captain was a great captain and if we return to Hvar in the future, he's going to be on my list for another boat tour.  Our final destination was Dubrovnik, home of Game of Thrones!  The architecture of the old fort is something that needs to be experienced in person.  On one of our evenings out in the old fort, we also had the opportunity to witness not just one, but three Croatian weddings.  My wife and I are thinking about renewing our vows there cause it was such a sight to see. Our travel consultant was a great coordinator for our trip and I would definitely recommend using her services if you'd like to have a memorable time in Croatia.

Croatia Honeymoon Tour Review: Walking Stari Grad, Tours of Hvar Island, Split & Trogir, Wine Tasting, Local Cuisine, Swimming
BOOK!!!!There is so much to say about how amazing and how easy it was to work with Ivana and her team. After Zicasso narrowed down two company's it was the first itinerary Ivana sent that made me go with this travel company. She was extremely quick to respond to emails and inquiries. And the booking process was easy and smooth as was the payment set up. Everything was laid out, well planned, and expertly executed.I'll start with landing at Split Airport where we were picked up in a nice black Mercedes van by our incredibly friendly and knowledgeable driver. We were brought to our hotel in Split which is an apartment style hotel room, it had a nice balcony/terrace and both the room and hotel staff were very pleasant. The next morning, the tour through Split and Trogir with our guide was exceptional, he was extremely passionate and intelligent. I'd do the same exact tour again it was so informative. Really is a great way to learn about the city before enjoying it yourself.Don't miss the wine tasting, it was well worth it.Ivana booked us an amazing sea view balcony hotel in Hvar, right in the city center. The perfect spot overlooking everything. The Hvar island tour with our guide was a highlight as well, she created an awesome atmosphere and she felt like a friend we'd known awhile. The Stari Grad walk around and the authentic Peka was 5 stars out of 5.The boat tour around the islands was maybe the best day. Ate lunch in the archway, swam with fish, saw the blue cave and our guide was excellent all around.Really what this review is all about is to say don't hesitate and just book with Ivana, her team does everything and it made our honeymoon the best trip ever. We didn't have to worry about anything except being ready to be picked up by our driver. Every single person Ivana booked for our tours, hotel, transportation was above and beyond and you can tell the travel company does their homework before teaming up with them. English was not a problem anywhere we went for those wondering. If you're from the US and want to have the perfect Croatian getaway email Ivana now!!! You won't regret it. Enjoy!

Croatia Travel Review: Split, Trogir, Hvar, Krka, Dubrovnik, Elaphiti Islands, Private Tours, 10-Day Trip
Spectacular trip!  Zicasso provided three option for Croatian travel advisors and we chose this travel company, working directly with Antonia. The trip was originally planned for Sept 2020 and was postponed until Sept 2023. Totally worth the wait!  Antonia was so patient and planned the perfect Croatian holiday for us. We had private transfers who took such good care of us during our 10 days. Antonia planned excellent private tours of Split, Trogir, Krka, and Dubrovnik. Our hotels in Split, Hvar and Dubrovnik were just what we wanted and provided impeccable service. Antonia’s recommendation of Bibich Winery, the Mali Ston private mussel and oyster experience, Elaphiti Island day long boat tour with a wonderful guide and the private Hvar history tour with our guide (a Peka lunch in Dol at Konoba Kokot) are all highlights. Really, what wasn’t a highlight!!!  Antonia greeted us in Split with a bottle of red wine and was so sweet. We are so thankful we worked with her and the travel agency to plan our perfect Croatian vacation. Honestly, we would not change a single moment of the trip.

Luxury Croatia Vacation Review: Split, Ston, Hvar, Dubrovnik, Korčula, Šibenik, Truffle Hunting, Oyster Farm Visit, Food Tour

Overall

We loved the Zicasso process - from the intake form, to the screening interview, to matching process with a local agent - we absolutely would leverage the same process for our future trips

Our travel agency (and in particular Ivana) were amazing - communicative - both ahead of the trip and during, made great recommendations based on our style, and advocated on our behalf in the few instances when things didn't go exactly according to plan

We loved the "private" nature of everything we did - our own drivers, our own tour guides, our own activities - certainly we paid for it, but if that's the kind of holiday you're looking for, our travel company certainly delivered

Pre-Trip / Itinerary Building

We were clear with our travel agency that for us, food > wine, so we had more activities geared that way (truffle hunt in Split, Oyster farm in Ston, Peka in Hvar, Food tour in old town Dubrovnik). But of course, given that it's Croatia, they recommended a couple of wine-centric activities - which were fantastic

We questioned whether it was worth it to have 4 stops in an 11-day itinerary - it seemed to us like a lot of packing/unpacking - but the team at our travel agency were especially insistent that we leave Korčula in the itinerary - and we're so glad we did

We went back and forth on a few of the activities and in particular, the "right" hotel in Dubrovnik. In the end, the itinerary was nearly perfect, and the Hotel in Dubrovnik was the right choice for us

Each time we adjusted the itinerary, we received an updated PDF file with the updated schedule, costs, etc. And perhaps my favorite communication - in the days before the trip, we received an email with three things: 1) a final pdf overview of the entire itinerary; 2) a one-page summary with dates/times for every activity and transfer; and 3) a separate, detailed pdf voucher for each activity/ticket/transfer across the whole trip

Final observations

Croatia is gorgeous. The best word I can use to describe it is "Dramatic". The people are incredibly friendly. And there are delicious things to eat and drink everywhere you go

It was *hot* - 95F/35C every day (from late June through early July. And we did *a lot* of walking. Just be prepared :)

There is *a lot* to do - between old cities with tons of history, beautiful beaches, restaurants, vineyards, farms, markets - we could easily go back to the same spots for another two weeks and have an entirely new experience

If you want to see Croatia in comfort, with no worries about logistics, and always feel well looked-after, I highly recommend this travel agency

Croatia Luxury Trip Review: Dalmatia Region, Stari Grad, Oyster Farm Tour, Truffle Hunt, Sipping Wine by the Sea, the Locals
First of all, I want to say that this was a trip that we decided to plan pretty late as we were concerned about Covid getting worse. With that being said, we decided to go with the travel company, one of the agents recommended by Zicasso, to plan an 8 day land package through the Dalmatian coast. From the very beginning, it really seemed like our agent, Antonia got what we were looking for. She came up with an itinerary which had all the ingredients of a memorable trip-great hotels, history, local culture, food as well as interactive experiences with the people of Croatia. We started off in Dubrovnik where we had a wonderful stay at the a Hotel and Spa which was a quiet hotel away from the hubbub of Old Town but still very accessible. The staff at the hotel were genuinely welcoming and felt like old friends by the time we left. Our next stop was Hvar where we stayed at a beautiful heritage hotel. Their terrace dining area overlooking the bay was simply stunning. Moving on to Split, we had a fabulous stay at a luxurious hotel where breakfasts were set against a wall of fragrant jasmine flowers. At our last stop in Zagreb, we stayed at a hotel with a perfect location to explore the city! In each of these cities, Antonia had arranged for wonderful tour guides who were passionate and communicated their love for their history and culture. In Hvar, as soon as our guide knew that I was interested in Hvar lace, she was delighted and made it a point to take us there. Every tour guide knew exactly how to guide us when we expressed an interest in something and their depth of knowledge was amazing. We also had wonderful drivers who picked us up on schedule and were friendly yet professional. They immediately put us at ease and always had great stories to share. Most of all, we enjoyed the amazing experiences, Antonia planned for us-an oyster farm lunch, a peka lunch in Stari Grad, a wine tasting, a truffle hunt and yet another wonderful wine/food pairing. This was a trip we would recommend to anyone. Antonia also personally came to meet us in Split and we found it touching that she would take time out of her busy day to meet with us. A hallmark of a great travel agency is when they treat you with warmth and caring and this travel agency certainly did! I would recommend them to anyone visiting Croatia!

Travel Review: Luxury Croatia & Hungary Tour, Hvar, Split, Budapest, Vineyard, Oyster Farm, 11-Day Trip
I can't recommend this travel company highly enough. Our trip around Croatia and then Budapest went perfectly thanks to our travel advisor from the company. The hotels were perfectly located, the guides were fabulous and the drivers punctual and capable. Many of our daily activities would not have been possible without our travel advisor's insider knowledge. We had a wonderful tour around Hvar with local guide which ended in a traditional lunch in the hills cooked by a family who were very charming that we would never have had otherwise- the same also with a lunch near Split in a local vineyard. Everything was organized perfectly and when we had a couple of queries, our travel advisor was extremely prompt to reply- nothing was too much trouble. We are so grateful to her and the company for a wonderful holiday.
