Paris - Parisian Custom

After arriving in Paris, your private transfer meets you at the airport. You discover Paris is both a vibrant modern city and a city erupting with historic significance. Bohemian culture filters out of cafes lining cobblestone streets. Grand architecture borders wide avenues shaded with Linden trees. Boats dock on the edge of the River Seine and decorate the waterway. The city bursts with life all around you. The sweet scent of freshly baked macaroons drifts through the air. People walk down the street with large baguettes on their way home for the evening.

University students sit on the riverbanks with an open bottle of wine, talking with friends about their latest read and snacking on a collection of crumbly rich cheeses. Life in the romantic city both speeds up and slows down. People take the time to enjoy the day, stopping in one of the many gardens throughout the city, including the Parc de Buttes-Chaumont, a pocket of heavenly greenery in the 19th arrondissement. France Travel Review: Lyon, Avignon, Aix-en-Provence, History, Food Pairings, Wine Tastings, 11 Nights

Our trip to Provence was fabulous. The three cities, Lyon, Avignon, and Aix-en-Provence, gave us a real sense of the region. The food, wine, and tours were all magnificent. The hotels were lovely and centrally located.

The five days in Avignon gave us a sense of the city and history.  All the guides were excellent and well informed. Our entire trip was well organized and the travel app which outlined our trip was “perfect." We were especially thankful for the drivers who were always on time.

We highly recommend our Zicasso travel expert and our travel company. We have never been disappointed with Zicasso.

France Tour Review: Cassis, Arles, Saint-Rémy-de-Provence, Roussillon, Aigues-Mortes, 8 Nights

My daughter and I overall had a fantastic trip. It was arranged on very short notice, and I really appreciated the travel agent working with us with such short notice. The hotels we stayed in were excellent. Originally, we had requested 2 beds, but both places we got 1, and we were able to make it work. We were able to get to all the sights we were hoping to see, and had excellent tour guides for both private and small group tours. I would have liked to have more information for what to expect on some of those tours, for example, our trip to the lavender fields/Valensole included a stop at a lake with the option to swim. We had no idea, so did not bring swimsuits. Our trip to Cassis was listed as a 5 hour tour, but was scheduled in a way that it was basically the drive to Cassis, the boat ride through 3 of the Calanques, and a very short time to sit on the beach before driving back. We did not have time to eat lunch before the trip back, and the timing of the drive back meant that restaurants were also closed back in Aix when we returned. Finally, we would have liked some input- we had read about the Camargue area, but didn't expect it to be basically people's ranches. That was a disappointing day. Still all in all an amazing trip.

France Travel Review: Normandy, Paris, D-Day Sites, Louvre, Versailles, Pastry Tour, Cooking Class, 1-Week Trip

This was my family's first international vacation. We have traveled internationally a lot for mission work, and that is usually done as a group, working with local people, so we have never needed a travel agent. When we made the decision to travel to France for our Christmas vacation, I knew I needed some help. I searched online and came across Zicasso. They were wonderful to work with and put me in touch with our travel specialist.

I was impressed from the first email I received from her and it only got better from there. We talked a couple of times on the phone and the rest of our communication was through email. She was always prompt to reply and answered all of our questions. She developed a great itinerary for us.

We spent three nights in the Normandy area and five nights in Paris. Our hotels were very small, local hotels, with a lot of charm. We loved them both. Not only did she organize our itinerary for us, she also arranged all of our transportation for our tours and getting us to and from the airport. All of our drivers were very professional and extremely prompt.

We did tours in Normandy and Paris. In Normandy, our guides were from the same tour company and were very knowledgeable. We did a full-day tour of the American D-Day sites and it was clear that our guide had a true passion for what he was doing.

When we arrived in Paris, she scheduled a pastry and chocolate walking tour (highly recommend), a private tour of the Louvre, and a private tour of the Palace of Versailles. She also scheduled us for a macaron cooking class in Paris and we loved it. My daughter (11 years old) loves macarons and had a wonderful time getting to make her own.

I cannot recommend this travel company enough. The travel specialist was fantastic and if I ever get the opportunity to go back to Paris, I will certainly want her to plan my trip.

France Tour Review: Vannes, Loire Valley, Bordeaux, Carnac, Chateaux, Wineries, 2 Weeks

Zicasso's travel agent created a well-orchestrated trip in response to our desire to explore western France, principally to stay in three areas (Vannes, Loire Valley, Bordeaux), with local guides as we requested. Importantly, with a train strike to occur when we arrived in Paris, she arranged for a car and driver to get us to our first destination. Car-rental arrangements worked well and transportation assistance when we returned to Paris was much appreciated.

She continued to stay in contact with us to ensure a great experience. She arranged some nice surprises along the way. We highly recommend her.
