Versailles - Welcoming Beauty

Paris is a city known for its pleasures both large and small. The Seine River winds through the cityscape, separating the ambiance and distinct styles of the Left and Right Banks. The Obelisk of Luxor rises above the Place de la Concorde and imitates the shape of the Eiffel Tower in the distance. Lush trees line the walkways of the wide boulevard and provide a border, guiding visitors down the Champs Elysees to the Arc de Triomphe. Maison Laduree is a lavish 18th-century tea salon that serves decadent macaroons.

The boulevard maintains an image of elegance emanating from the glinting jewelry in the windows of Tiffany & Co. and Cartier. Your private transfer meets you at Charles de Gaulle International Airport and escorts you to your sensational accommodation near the gates of the Palace of Versailles. The Rococo décor provides an extravagant atmosphere, setting a precedence for your subsequent tour of the grandeur at Versailles. France Review, Paris, Loire Valley, Bordeaux, Provence, Fine Dining & Wine/Champagne Tours, Hot Air Ballon Ride at Sunrise
Fantastic trip to France for 12 days. We went to Paris, The Loire Valley, Bordeaux and Provence. The hotels this tour company recommended were very nice boutique hotels in great locations. Traveling between cities were flawless with easy pickups by private drivers waiting for us at the train terminals. The went to 4 different wine/champagne tours in different areas of France. All welter very good but the tour with one guide in Provence was exceptional. The company gave great recommendations for restaurants in each of the areas. We celebrated my Wife’s birthday eating at a Famous Restaurant on the Eiffel Tower which was amazing. In Bordeaux we ate at a Michelin restaurant. Probably the best meal of our lives. Unforgettable. In the Loire Valley we took a hot air air ballon ride at sunrise. Stunning views.

France Luxury Vacation Review: Paris, Normandy, Giverny, Seine Dinner Cruise, Versailles, Cooking Class, Museums, 8-Day Trip

Eric planned the perfect holiday in France. Our driver was waiting for us on arrival. Off to Normandy for our first three nights, with a quick stop at Monet's garden at Giverny. Our guide brought the water lilies to life. We checked in at an amazing five-star hotel. Do not miss either of their two Michelin-star restaurants. It's a short walk into Port-en-Bessin-Huppain, where you will find many restaurants. We spent two days exploring everything Normandy and World War 2 with an exceptional guide.

Paris did not disappoint. We hit the ground running. Eric arranged a tour of Paris by car. The evening dinner cruise on the River Seine was definitely a highlight of the trip, as were beautiful views of the city lit up at night, including the Eiffel Tower. I had no idea how beautiful the Palace and Gardens of Versailles are - the restaurant on-site by the lake with rowboats is wonderful. Of course, the guide matters - she was the best! If you're a foodie, make sure you schedule a cooking class with our chef. Shopping at the local markets is an adventure in itself. I've been able to recreate the meal back in the States.

We chose to explore the Champagne houses on this trip. Both were exceptional and yes, we brought home four bottles. In between houses, we had the most wonderful lunch with a champagne flight at Au 36 in Hautvillers. A trip to Paris would not be complete without visiting the Louvre and Orangerie museums. We completed our holiday with a flute of champagne at the top of the Eiffel Tower!

Eric and the guides made perfect restaurant recommendations. I most definitely recommend him and the travel agency!

Travel Review: Luxury France Vacation, Paris, Amboise, Normandy, Beaune, Bayeux, Museums, Wine Tour, 2-Week Trip
Our travel specialist was excellent in helping us plan our trip to France. She was very patient with us changing our minds, and understanding that we prefer self guided tours and very small group tours. The places she booked us into were conveniently located for exploring the different cities. Our favorite was the two hour tour in Paris. We could have done a 4 hour tour.4 nights in Paris was perfect and 3 nights in the other locations other than Normandy was very adequate. Having booked our trains, car rental and Skip the Line for museums was a big advantage. This made everything go flawless on our trip. There was only one tour in Amboise that did not go as described. We wanted a small tour of the castles and a wine pairing with lunch with a Sommelier. That did not happen, we were a 16 group tour with no wine pairings or tastings. We did notify our travel specialist of this problem afterwards and the tour group had changed what they did without letting her know. She did refund our money for that tour. The app that they use is excellent. It gave you all the details right on your phone and you didn't have to look anything up on paper.

Travel Review: France Vacation, Paris, Loire Valley, Bordeaux, Saint Emilion, Versailles, Seine River, Louvre, Food Tour, Wine

For our previous 2 trips to Europe we booked through a local travel agent but for the trip to France we decided to try something different. I found Zicasso through a Google search and they connected us with this travel company. And what a difference that made! We had a fantastic trip thanks to this travel company! Our agents starting planning our trip from what we thought we would like to see and do. We talked several times through phone calls and emails and they finalized an itinerary for us. We traveled to Paris, Amboise in the Loire Valley, and Bordeaux. We stayed in three 4 star boutique hotels, all of which were very nice and in great locations. Our room in Amboise had a beautiful view of Chateau d’Amboise, a 15th century castle where Leonardo Da Vinci is entombed! Our agent booked our hotels, our tours, our train travel, dinner reservations, and drivers to and from the airport and trains stations and some of our tours. Everything went as planned and was stress free. We had private guided tours of the Louvre, Versailles, a chocolate and pastry walking tour, chateaus in Loire Valley, and wine tasting and vineyards in Bordeaux. The guides were local people who were very personable and added to the experience by being able to talk with them about their life and living in France. We really enjoyed the French cuisine, the wine, the sights, and the French people! This was the best trip we had ever been on!

France Trip Review: Paris, Bordeaux, Bayeux, Nice, Amboise, Louvre, Versailles, Food Tour, 16-Day Vacation
I do not even know where to start as to how wonderful everything about this trip was. Every company hired to lead our tours was wonderful, informative, on time, and so knowledgeable. We loved each and every guide and we got to experience France from a local's perspective. Each tour was a highlight--our guide taking us to the Louvre, the Nice Food Tour, our guide in the Bordeaux region, our guide at Versailles, etc.....Wow! You booked top-notch people for us and it made each experience wonderful. Of the five hotels in which we stayed, four were winners and we would stay there again. Our Hotel in Paris was right in the center and was a perfect location, the beautiful Hotel in Bayeux was perfect and so comfortable, the Hotel in Bordeaux was historic and wonderful, and then there was the Hotel in Nice with views of the Mediterranean Sea, a French balcony, and a perfect location to Old Town. But why the Hotel in Amboise which was about the complete opposite of the other four? It was in the middle of nowhere, not well maintained, several tour groups were staying there so the breakfast buffet was unkempt and low on food, the personnel were impersonal, etc. With four perfect hotels chosen, we did not understand this choice, so we are happy we only had two nights there. Every transport person was on time and that was so appreciated. Plus each vehicle was first rate and very comfortable for the six of us traveling together.Thank you to our travel company and Isabelle (who is no longer there), Joel, and Valentine for the wonderful trip to France. Your suggestions were perfect for us and we had the best time ever!!! We would use your agency again in a heartbeat. Whenever we had a question before the trip, you answered almost immediately which is great customer service. You know France and because of that, you made it come alive for us. Thank you, thank you!!

Travel Review: France Vacation, Paris, Amboise, Loire Valley, Versailles, Seine River Dinner Cruise, Eiffel Tower, Louvre

Absolutely superb travel experience!  My first trip to France was in May for our 25th wedding anniversary (2 years late),  for 10 days/8 nights.  I usually plan our travel, rather meticulously, but I didn't know where to begin to plan a trip to France.  My husband found Zicasso, and this travel agent and her company, and conveyed our preferences and information, and she magically concocted the perfect trip!  The driver in Paris was waiting at the CDG airport as we exited, very jet-lagged, so it was marvelous having someone lead us to a car and practically carry us into our hotel.  He was wonderful, polite and efficient, and spoke perfect English.  He also drove us from Paris to the Loire Valley for the end of our trip, which made the journey so easy and pleasant for us.  A travel company representative was waiting at our hotel when we arrived, with our itineraries, tickets, maps and information.  She was very helpful and welcoming.

I was nervous to have someone choose a Paris hotel for us, but the hotel in the Latin Quarter was absolutely perfect for us!  It is in a charming historical neighborhood that was easy to walk.  The hotel is top-notch and staff is great.  They have a beautiful courtyard garden to relax, and I will forever miss their amazing breakfasts!  The room was large and beautiful, and had everything we could want, plus charming gifts and treats.  The bathroom was fantastic, with a big soaking tub as well as large shower.   It was quiet and comfortable, the way we like it.  And it was so easy to walk to metro stations and zip away to every part of Paris.

Our Paris guide was a joy to be with.  We were so comfortable with her, as she walked around the Latin Quarter and showed us historical sights we would not have found.  She took us on the metro for our first ride, and helped us buy 5-day tickets--a great decision.  After that, we had no trouble navigating the metro system.  Our guide was an extremely valuable guide through Le Louvre.  She highlighted wonderful pieces throughout that we might have missed, giving us an overall tour before leaving us to explore on our own.  She is a true gem.  We were so blessed to have her help.

Our visits to L'Opera Palais Garnier, Le Louvre, and the top of the Eiffel Tower were all well-planned for us, and we skipped the lines to all.    We picked up our tickets to the Eiffel Tower a few blocks away and were led as a small group by a guide, directly through the checks and gates, right to the walkway to the elevator.  That saved a LOT of time.    The van trip to Versailles was slick and easy.  However, there was not much time allowed for viewing before we had to meet for the trip back.                                                                                                                     The dinner cruise on the Seine was wonderful.  We were well-pampered with excellent food, drinks, and views Paris at night.   We highly recommend it.

We were driven approx. 2 hours to Amboise in the Loire Valley to finish our trip.  Again, I could not have chosen a better place to stay, it was absolute perfection.  The grounds, garden and buildings are gorgeous and decadently comfortable.  The food was incredible and service fantastic, especially the agent at the front desk.  We had a fabulous, large room, with everything we could have hoped for.  I only wish we had planned to stay at least several days longer there, there was so much to enjoy simply by staying at the hotel.  It was short walking distances to everything, including the fabulous Chateau d'Amboise Royal.  This castle is not to be missed, and sits atop Amboise.  You have no idea from below all that awaits above, not least the burial place of Leonardo da Vinci.  Da Vinci's house and gardens are down the road from the castle and is another destination to spend most of the day.  The wine caves visit was really interesting, with wonderful wines.  And we had another great guide drive us to Chateau Chenonceau and Chambord with a few other people.  It was so much better than taking a big bus tour or trying to get their on our own.

The trip was so much more enjoyable by utilizing this travel agency.  It was so relaxing, knowing we had reliable transportation (especially during the numerous transit strikes) and English-speaking guides.  I hope we can do this again very soon!
