Best of Athens, Santorini, and Mykonos: Greek Summer Vacation

I recently had the pleasure of experiencing the most unforgettable vacation with my family, all thanks to the exceptional planning and coordination by Zicasso’s travel agent. Our trip to Greece, covering the beautiful islands of Mykonos, Paros, Santorini, and the vibrant city of Athens, was nothing short of magical.

Mykonos: The Perfect Start. Our journey began in Mykonos, where we were greeted with stunning beaches, charming alleys, and vibrant nightlife. The accommodations arranged by our agent were luxurious and perfectly located. We loved exploring the iconic windmills, Little Venice, and indulging in the local cuisine.

Paros: A Hidden Gem. Next, we ventured to Paros, which quickly became a favorite. The island’s serene beaches and picturesque villages offered a more laidback atmosphere. The boutique hotel we stayed in was charming and welcoming, with fantastic views and excellent service. Our agent's recommendations for a semi-private all-day catamaran cruise made our stay in Paros even more special.

Santorini: A Romantic Escape. It was everything we imagined and more. The breathtaking sunsets, iconic white-washed buildings, and crystal-clear waters were simply stunning. Our agent ensured we had the best views, with our accommodation perched on the caldera’s edge. The private wine tour and morning cruise they arranged were highlights of our trip, offering unique experiences that we will cherish forever.

Athens: A Historical Finale. Our trip concluded in Athens, where we immersed ourselves in the rich history and culture of Greece. From the awe-inspiring Acropolis to the bustling streets of Plaka, every moment was captivating. We had a wonderful time on our recent honeymoon through Athens, Crete, Santorini, and Mikonos.

Though we were sad to leave, we had the vacation of our lifetime and have photos and memories of beautiful landscapes and hotels, with wonderful experiences with locals and very accommodating hotel staff alike.

We were particularly pleased with the efforts of our agent, Anthony, who went above and beyond to make our experience the best it could be. He was thorough in providing a selection of different plans that would fit our budget, and he continued to work with us to tweak those plans to our satisfaction. The timing of the pick-ups and transports allowed us to travel with ease and comfort, and we were offered a variety of fascinating guided tour options.

When we expressed dissatisfaction with one of our hotels during our final stay in Mikonos, Anthony responded immediately and managed to switch us to a wonderful hotel and a much better situation within an hour of receiving our email. This timely and professional reaction on Anthony's part really perfected the end of our trip, and we couldn't be more grateful.

We hope to make it back to Greece again someday, and in the meantime, we will refer any interested friends to this travel company with highest recommendations for Anthony and their team.

The trip planned by Zicasso’s tour company was amazing.

The Mykonos hotel provided the best customer service I think we have ever had. It was an absolutely gorgeous place. The Naxos hotel was really nice too, but a little remote. It didn't have as many amenities and was a little more nickel and dimming on the services. Our Santorini suite was so charming. It was nice that we were all together in one suite at our last destination. The Athens hotel was nothing too special, but the location was good. I think something in Plaka with a little more charm would have been fun.

The excursions were great. Everyone loved something different. Every guide was great!

All the transport was on time or early, with great service. We used the same drivers throughout our stays on each island.

We love the Greek people!

Best Vacation Ever!!!

Our travel agent presented us with a final itinerary that resulted in the best vacation ever!

My husband and I went to Athens, Mykonos and Santorini.  All in that order.  Best order.  Athens was quite a bit of walking and site seeing of ancient rumors.  We stayed at the Athens Gate Hotel where our travel agency surprised us with a nice bottle of champagne.  Best location!  Best Rooftop views during breakfast and cocktail hour as the sun was setting and the lights turned on to highlight the Acropolis and Temple of Zeus.  It was also in the middle of everything, including the nice walk around Plaka.  Then we were off to Mykonos via airlines (quick 30 min flight).  We stayed in a beautiful resort which had the view of the pool area overlooking the sea where all the amazing yachts sat.  Our travel agency scheduled a catamaran excursion that sailed the beautiful waters that surrounded Mykonos as well as swim in it.  Funny, we met a fellow travel agency employee. She was the sweetest.  That excursion was so fun!  A great excursion with only 8 people onboard.  Next, Santorini. Wow.  We took a ferry from Mykonos to Santorini. That was the only thing that stressed me a just a little, only a little.  But, it was fine because our travel agency put us in the premium section which made it more pleasant.  The only thing about those ferries was our luggage.  You just drop it in a section hoping to find it once we reached Santorini. It was crazy wall to wall people trying to find their luggage.  It's ok...we got out luggage and off to our hotel.  OMG!  What a surprise!!!  We initially booked a suite with our own swimming pool.  The hotel upgraded us to their grand suite! My gosh.  This suite was huge.  It included a indoor hot tub, our outdoor pool and our own veranda. Beeeeaaauuutiful!  Views on Santorini, our suite, was amazing. So surreal.  The excursion was great.  A catamaran trip of 10 people sailing and swimming around the island of Santorini.  Complete relaxation on Santorini which made it an amazon finale to our Greece trip.

Additional touches our travel agent made sure to cover was transport between airport to hotel and vice versa, transport from hotel to ferry and vice versa and transport to/from our excursions. 

Overall, our travel agency made this vacation the smoothest and best vacation ever.  Our travel planner took care of all the details and we felt we were treated very special by each of the hosts (hotel and excursions).  It was great that we received a package with tips.  It helped us prepare better for our trip.

I would highly recommend this company.  I'm definitely going back to them when we decide on Italy.
