Detailed Description

This handcrafted, weeklong culinary adventure through Athens, Santorini, and Crete perfectly combine cuisine with culture. Your vacation will begin in Athens, which is known as the cradle of Western Civilization. As you walk out the airport terminal to greet your private driver, you will immediately notice the earthy, herbaceous aroma of olive groves permeating through the air. Once you collect your belongings, your driver will escort you to your charming accommodation in the heart of the City. This evening, you will be free to relax. The following day, a private guide will arrive at your hotel in the morning to accompany you through the legendary Acropolis. You will spend your morning visiting one of the greatest architectural achievements in human history and will be able to marvel at the elegant and sleek design of the Temple of Nike Athena, the sheer size of the Temple of Olympian Zeus, and the cultural significance of the Parthenon. While your morning will consist of touring with the gods, your afternoon will consist of dining with them. Your guide will lead you on an authentic street food tour through the back alleys of Athens. Any foodie knows that to experience the true taste of a city, you need to eat where the locals do. With this in mind, we have handcrafted a specialized tour through Athens to provide you with a unique peek into the vibrant street food scene. During your tour, you will partake in a succulent tasting of local souvlaki, indulge in a sweet and salty gyro made with freshly baked pita bread, and appreciate the simple delicacy of a perfectly made baklava.

The next morning, you will depart for Santorini on a private aircraft. As you soar over the Aegean Sea, you will admire the spectacular view of Greece's islands against the bright blue sea. After you land, you will quickly check-in to your hotel and head toward the lovely town of Oia. As you stroll through the maze of eclectic artesian cafes, shops, and jewelers, make sure to stop for a strongly brewed coffee, try a loaf of freshly baked bread, and capture a memory at one of the many picturesque stopping points. Later in the afternoon, your personal sommelier will arrive and accompany you on a spectacular Santorini wine tour. You will spend your last day in Santorini sailing through the seas on an ultra-luxury catamaran yacht equipped with diving and fishing gear. During your time on the open sea, you can bask in the revitalizing air and soothing sunshine as you dive through clear waters in search of octopus and oysters. Your crew will then transport your fresh seafood to a local restaurant, where you will learn how to prepare a perfectly grilled and seasoned octopus dish with a famed Greek chef.

Your final destination will be the mystical island of Crete. You will arrive early in the morning, and your hotel will send a driver to pick you up from the marina. No trip to Crete would be complete without hiking the Samaria Gorge, and you will spend your first morning on Crete trekking past snow-patched mountains, rushing riverbeds, vibrant flora, and inspiring cliff sides. Later in the evening, a world-renowned Greek chef will teach you how to prepare the quintessential Greek dish that consists of a Greek salad, lamb, and pistachio baklava. The freshness of the feta and olive oil will leave you wondering how something so simple can be so complex. The secret spice rub will be passed onto you by the chef and may become an instant classic for your friends and family back home. On your final day, you will sample Crete's sweet and succulent olives during a tour from grove to grove. Eventually, you will culminate your trip by visiting a local feta cheese dairy farm. Relaxed, refreshed, and reinvigorated with a newfound appreciation of Greek cuisine, you will return home to your friends and family.

Review: Luxury Family Trip to Greece, Athens, Naxos, Santorini, Acropolis Tour, Hiking, Sailing, Cooking Lesson, History

We only have great things to say about this travel agent and his team!  My whole family would recommend him to anyone!  He did a fantastic job of listening to our interests, considering our family needs and laying out an itinerary really built for us and making it an enjoyable trip with no issues, and good communication from beginning to end.  The hotels were amazing, the transportation was on time and first class, the events/ private tours balanced our family age interests - even the wine tour he had specially tailored to ensure our kids felt included and the winery would be interesting to them.

We went to Santorini, Naxos and Athens.  On Santorini the views, sunsets, cliffside hotel with private pool, light hiking, seaside villages, wineries, ancient ruins were immediately striking and felt almost surreal.   Our second island Naxos didn't immediately hit us like Santorini did, but by the third day we were in love with it more so than Santorini - the beaches, sailing trip and secluded coves, mountains (Mt. Zeus), food, cheese, wine (better than Santorini we thought), marble, little villages and overall exploring just kind of grew on us - also had a great cooking class in one of the villages - the instructor and her family were so kind and welcoming - our kids loved it.  Lastly Athens, we only had one day and hit all the major sites and the National Museum as well... a bit crazy, well worth it.

We will go back, as our agent noted when he met us at the airport, we only were visiting 2 of the 200 inhabited islands, much less the other couple thousand uninhabited and they are all different!

Luxury Greece Review: Athens, Meteora, Santorini, Monastery, Wine Tasting, Sunset Cruise on Aegean Sea, Ladies Trip
My trip with this travel team was fabulous.  I traveled to 3 different places in Greece with my daughter and sister for 6 nights so it was a fast trip.  Our trip planner and I worked together for the short amount of time we had in Greece.  We really got a favor of Greece by traveling to Athens, Meteora and then to Santorini.  All 3 places were different in unique ways.  This  is the first time I tried a Luxury Tour and I can say it was well worth the money.  We were picked up at the airport and transported to our hotel which was nice after traveling all night to get to Greece.  All of our transports were on time, the drivers are very courteous and professional and I have to say it is nice being transported around in a Mercedes Benz as they are very nice cars.  It was one less thing for us to worry about.  We had planned 2 separate private tours, one in Athens and one in Meteora. The tour guide in Athens had just finished her Doctorate degree in Archaeology.  She was so knowledgeable that our tour of the Acropolis and Museum in Athens was informative and memorable.  Our other private tour in Meteora was equally informative about the area and monks that came there and built the monasteries on top of the rock cliffs.  If you go to Greece the private tours are the way to go.  While in Santorini we also did a couple of semi-private tours.  My daughter and I did a wine tasting tour (on Mother's Day) which included 3 different wineries and a beautiful sunset at the last winery.  They pick you up at your hotel in a very nice tour bus.    Our group was very small, only 4 other people so it was very pleasurable and our tour guide was very knowable about all the wines and how they grow the grapes in Santorini.  Our last semi-private tour was a Sunset Cruise on a catamaran.  The boat was very nice, they grilled dinner for us which was delicious and the crew was very friendly. The views from the water were breathtakingly beautiful of the Aegean Sea.   Our group was small approximately 20 people so it was intimate and very enjoyable. If you are planning a trip to Greece this travel team is the Travel Designer to use. I was very happy with our trip, the price we paid and the service we got.   Every detail was planned, an itinerary was printed and presented to us at the airport.  We were also given the cell phone numbers for our Agent and she was in communication with us every day.  As the saying goes, you get what you pay for.  If you are looking for a upscale trip of Greece then I would highly recommend using this travel team.

Luxury Vacation Review: Greece, Crete, Naxos Villages & Winery, Mykonos, Santorini, Athens, History
I consider myself a traveler but had never been to Greece before and wanted to ‘do it right’. I had a three week timeframe to spend in the islands.  Of course Mykonos and Santorini were on my list and I looked to this travel team for additional recommendations.  They suggested Crete and Naxos.  It was a wonderful and interesting mix.  From our Acropolis tour in Athens, authentic Naxos tour of villages and winery, every detail was meticulously tended to and this travel team checked in with me multiple times throughout my journey.  All transfers and guides were timely, knowledgeable and very nice people. Several of the guides felt like friends by the time we concluded.  The travel planner of this team was responsive to my inquiries and did a very good job of delivering the best Greece had to offer!
