Amalfi Coast – Cocktails, Coastline and Charm

Rock formations tumble into the Mediterranean as colorful villas etch themselves into cliffs and sunlight dances through small villages. This is the Amalfi Coast, where nature, history, and culture find a harmony. Touch down in Naples, and it is just a short drive south to your hotel.  Meander through the bewitching coastal landscape to reach a little village perched over the sea, and then take your first early-evening stroll to join the locals who sit on small piazzas as you settle into the Italian experience. Of course, the views are pretty, and the village seems to come from a postcard, but you will soon appreciate that true Italy is far more than what you look at.

Detailed Description

Italy has dozens and dozens of UNESCO World Heritage Sites set alongside the incomparable art galleries and historical monuments. The architecture is as diverse as it is spellbinding as you move from Rome to Florence to Venice. Perhaps no other country has as many sights, but the Italian experience is so much more than just it’s many icons.  Many are tempted to rush between the many famous sites, but the Italians themselves would never do such a thing as they live life slower, and this laid-back atmosphere is pervasive everywhere you go. Locals love the small pleasures of espresso on a medieval piazza, lunch in a cobbled village, or an early-evening walk as dusk turns the church domes to a golden hue. This handcrafted tour brings these pleasures to your life as you travel leisurely enough to experience the real Italy.

Your two weeks in Italy are spread across six overnight destinations as your journey takes you from southwest to northeast. Of course, the sights are magical, and with two weeks you can crisscross through 2,000 years of history. Regional distinction is another Italian highlight, and each of the destinations has been handpicked for its inimitability. On most days you will go out exploring, either by stepping outside from your hotel, or your local guide will lead you to vineyards, villages, ruins, and other little highlights close by. This is Italy, so every day runs to a laid-back rhythm. Your guides will discuss your itinerary with you each day, and you can make adjustments depending on your energy levels. In a country like Italy, you will often get to experience more by doing less.

Begin with the Amalfi Coast, and it is lush and laid-back, a coastal getaway that eases you into Italy and into your vacation with cocktails, cruising, cliffs, and cathedrals. Stop next in Montecassino on route to several nights in Rome, where one of your many highlights will be an after-hours visit to the Vatican Museums. Dive into old-world Umbria, Orvieto, and Assisi, complemented by a small village overnight experience. Explore Tuscany and stay once more on the coast, this time Viareggio, and even more authentic than Cinque Terre, which you will also you visit. The next days are spent in Florence, and then you end in Venice, where after-hours access to Basilica San Marco is as memorable as the gondola ride to get there. You will end having visited six overnight destinations in two weeks, and found all of the little pleasures to be found in between them all.  Looking for the best Italian travel experiences? Review: Italy Family Vacation, Milan, Rome, Florence, Venice, Parma, Modena, San Gimignano, Lake Como, Dolomites Snowmobiling

Thanks for helping me organize my family (of 10 with diverse age from 15 to 63) trip to Italy, from Dec 17 to Dec 31. Whilst different member of my family have different expectation and requirement, I would like to comment you and your team on having planned an excellent trip that not only met each and everyone's interest and expectation but truly exceeded it.

Your planning have brought us to the lovely cities of Parma, Modena, Florence, Orvieto, Civita Di Bagnoregio, Naples, Rome, Venice, Cortina d'Amprezzo and back to our starting point Milan. Throughout the trip, we have a well balance itinerary that covered

- beautiful churches such as the Duomo in Milan, Rome, Florence,

- archeological site like Pompeii, Colosseum, Roman Forum, Pantheon, Pisa, Verona (learning more about romeo and Juliet)

- great local eating places (recommended by the guides you chose)

- lovely country side and unique sight in San Gimignano, Civita Di Bagnoregio, Orvieto, Lake Como,

- great gallery likes Uffizi, Academia

- Interesting activity such as Snow Mobile excursion in Cortina, Learning Cooking

- Shopping activities

With so much, yet your team immaculate planning never have us rushing from sight to sight, we were both able to enjoy and learn as much as we can of each sight and at times added more activities.

The team of guides you chose, have truly turn stone and history into exciting stories that the provided the group deeper understanding of the sights we visited and saw. Really like to thank each on of them like our guides in Florence, Pisa, San Gimignano, Orvieto and Civita Di Bagnoregio, Naples and Pompeii, Rome, Verona, Venice and Milan.

But most importantly, thank you for getting our driver, he truly ensure our comfort whilst driving steadily through jams on our way to Naple and snow storm on our way to Cortina d Amprezzo and also took very good care of us ensuring we know what to do where we have no guides and leaving us clear instruction when we needed help. He is truly a wonder.

I will definitely tell my friends heading to Italy about this company.... A wonderfully great experience.

Travel Review: Italy Trip, Rome, Sorrento, Florence, Naples, Pompeii, Herculaneum, Ravello, Siena, San Gimignano, Farm & Food Tour

We experienced a fabulous twelve night first trip ever to Europe staying in Rome, Sorrento, and Florence with day visits to Naples, Pompeii and Herculaneum, a drive with stops and photo-ops through the beautiful Amalfi coast villages to Ravello, and a day trip to historic Siena and San Gimignano through the Chianti region of Tuscany. Our travel consultant and her colleague at the company in Rome, proved to be perceptive to our interests, resourceful in finding spot-on solutions within our budget and patient professionals as we explored various itinerary options. Both women spoke and wrote english very well to thoughtfully help us plan our itinerary for three adults with private transportation and guides. Our private guides in Rome; in Pompeii and Herculaneum; in Naples; one a Canadian ex-pat in Florence; and in Siena, informed our discovery of each locale and its many treasures.  We also did two small group tours. First, a farm/food tour near Sorrento with an incredibly informative and entertaining guide, and catacombs at Saint Sebastian with a nameless guide and small group of 9 during our Appian way visit and final full day in Rome. At times we were chaperoned in private vehicles with english speaking drivers knowledgeable of their territories. In Rome, in Naples, in the Bay of Naples Sorrento area, in Tuscany, and in Amalfi. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend this company to help others plan the vacation of a lifetime.

Luxury Italy Family Vacation Review: Florence, Tuscany, Rome, Sorrento, Venice, San Gimignano, Pompeii, Orvieto, Capri, Boat Ride
It was a magical trip for our family and Diana/team provided a tremendous amount of support and were there anytime we needed it. The locations, tour guides and dining suggestions were all outstanding. Very smooth and organized. We started in Florence and made that our base of operation for the most nights of the trip. Went to Venice, San Gimignano, and a cooking class in Tuscany, but it was great to come back to the same hotel each night. We asked Diana to switch us from a train ride from Florence to Rome to a car ride and it was so worth it. We stopped in Orvieto, which we highly recommend. Diana was able to get us into the underground restaurant there, which was not only great food, but unique place to eat. Stayed in Rome for two nights, which was enough to hit the key sites there. Big city, so we happy we did not stay there as long. We stopped on our way to Sorrento in Pompeii. Continued the ride on the coast to Sorrento. Did a boat ride to Capri. The island was beautiful but a little boring, but the boat ride was great. Great captain. Overall, we loved the trip and it was an amazing bucket list trip. We did have a hotel issue in Sorrento that Diana did all she could to resolve. Our Florence hotel was awesome (great staff), but the other two were okay. Unbelievable food, great help from Diana to get us in a few places. Train rides were great, a little stressful ensuring we were going on the right one, but great once on. Highly recommend Diana and team to anyone and already have recommended them.

Review: Italy Tour, Rome, Venice, Capri, Positano, Florence, Pompeii, Ravello, Murano Glass Tour, Automobile Museums

Overall Trip was excellent- travel tips were extremely helpful and suggested activities helped very much.  We followed there travel suggestions and were very satisfied.

Some specific comments;

Rome-  Hotel was great, excellent breakfast (best we had) -  Tour guide for Forum  was very good, guy for vatican talked a little to much but didn't say much, didn't use suggested restaurants just picked out roadside cafe's and it worked great.

Positano-  Hotel very good although shower did not drain and even after repeated requests no body fixed it. Breakfast very good ( second best) and mornings on the porch were priceless.  Used suggested restaurant, a bit pricey but good ( we typically prefer more casual dinners and stayed on our own for dinner locations after that) - trip to Capri was good (crowds made it a bit difficult to get going) lot of climbing. Ravello was cool but public bus wasted a lot of time and wasn't comfortable at all-  some direction might have helped.

Pompeii- we should have prepared more to get more out of it

Florence-  really need time, but that was our fault-  room location wasn't bad but a little bland-  it worked though, nothing exciting.  Replacement tour guide worked out very well- very knowledgeable.   Food tour was excellent.

Car rental-  worked excellent - really glad we did it

Abbey - interesting but 3 nights there was to much-  frankly bed was terrible (felt like it was from the middle ages) breakfast just OK and it was always a long drive back-  we did quite a bit in those three days but found that driving back and forth to the abbey took a LOT of time.  Tasting dinner OK- we would have preferred just ordering off the menu.  Would have liked to see Sienna or other locations more. Frankly we didn't plan well and tracked over the same roads many times. Cooking class was excellent-very much worth it.

Opera 2 -  excellent, views great, interesting location- two days is right.  Tasting dinner was OK? but given the choice we would do something else.  Ferrari museums were just good, Lamborghini facility was much better.

Venice- amazing place and crowded.  Took some time to drop the car and find the two locations to validate the travel transit tickets , especially the place for the transfer back to airport- office is in the train station and poorly marked. took a bit of time. Hotel was great- once we found it- maps and google map on phone don't work well as you probably know. Did what we could in a day and half (Murano glass tour was excellent- people were great)

Trip home long but uneventful-  thanks for a great trip we will always remember.   Joe S

Travel Review: Anniversary Trip to Italy, Rome, Florence, Pisa, San Gimignano, Positano, Truffle Hunt, Cooking Class, Food Tour

Locations Visited: Venice, Verona, Florence, San Gimignano, Siena, Pienze, Rome, Pompeii, Positano

My husband and I planned this trip for our 10-year anniversary. I’m a person with high expectation and this travel agency exceeded all my expectations. The entire trip was dream.

We opted for personalized tours and transport for 95% of our trip. All of our drivers were wonderful. They arrived on time and made sure we made it to all of our destinations without issue. They had the contact information for the tour guides we were meeting. Upon arrival to our first hotel, a local cell phone and gift were given to us. Having the iPhone during our trip made any needed communication with our agent and his team a breeze. In addition, we used the phone apps for navigation throughout the cities we visited. We made a last-minute request for an additional private transport, and our agent was able to make it happen. We greatly appreciated their customer service.

We participated in a several unique experiences while in Italy. We went truffle hunting in Pienza, which was amazing. After, we were served a meal that highlighted truffles and the cheeses made locally. In addition, we did a cooking day in Rome. This was a private cooking class where we made pasta, several sauces, and appetizers. The one disappointment is that we never received the recipes from the chef (we were told by the chef that they would be emailed to us). However, this is a knock on the chef and not our travel agent. Once the class was done, we were served a meal in a private garden area. Lastly, we did a food walking tour in Rome. This was an amazing way to find local cuisine that we wouldn’t have known about otherwise. A wonderful experience.

All of our tour guides were excellent. They were knowledgeable, friendly, and familiar with the cities. We had one guide that really went into the details and reasons for expressions in the art. We didn’t care for that, but we didn’t specify that ahead of time or to the guide. It was wonderful seeing her excitement and passion for all of the amazing working works of art and sculpture that we saw.

Overall, I would highly recommend this travel agent and his team if you are traveling to Italy!! You will not be disappointed. We gave him our wish list of activities, accommodation preferences, etc. ahead of time and he made sure we got them all! Thank you for such a wonderful and memorable trip. If we are able to return to Italy, you will be hearing from us.
