Italy Trip Review: Vietri sul Mare, Palermo, Taormina, Naples, Pompeii, Sorrento, Ravello, Capri, Organic Farm Visit, Mt Etna Tour

We had a fantastic trip that exceeded our expectations. We had an excellent trip planned with Marilisa and she was open to our ideas and to our requested changes and implemented them quickly and got back to us with the confirmation that it was done. The travel arrangements at the airports and daily for tours and excursions were always on time and with great drivers who were helpful and had fun conversations about where we were going and in-depth history. Their skills in driving the vans along the Amalfi coast was amazing and we were all so glad that we were in the hands of expert drivers on these extremely tight and curvy congested roads. Each tour guide was extremely knowledgeable about the area we went to. More commentary on the tour guides below. The hotels that were provided were great for the two groups. Each one had a good reason why they chose them. In Naples it was right in the center of the old town beaming with life and restaurants. The hotel had a fantastic breakfast room and a great bar service in the afternoon. The rooms were ok, nothing special. The hotel in Vietri sul Mare was a gem. Great location, great views of the ocean, friendly and helpful staff and had some great restaurants nearby. The hotel in Palermo was also right in the middle of the city center with great restaurants in walking distance, but the rooms were just ok, and the breakfast area was very tight to move around. The Resort in Taormina was fantastic also. Same owner as the hotel in Vietri sul Mare. Great location on the beach, easy to get to downtown Taormina. A great bar cafe on the beach and the breakfast area was overlooking the beach. A great place to spend our two free days at the end of the trip. The hotel in Naples was also beautiful for our last night, but we didn't get to use it much as it was the last night before flying home. Our only real disappointment was the first transportation of the trip from Naples airport to the hotel. The driver seemed to be in a hurry when getting us to the hotel. He didn't know the area very well and said he couldn't get any closer to the hotel due to the small roads. He pointed up the road and said it should be up there. We all had two bags to drag around while searching for the hotel. Luckily, we had our phones to use. He wasn't even on the right street, and we had to walk around to find it. The next morning our driver was right outside the hotel, so there was no problem with the road.

Italy Travel Review: Custom Italy Vacation, Sicily, Palermo, Monreale, Gambino winery

We recently returned from a 7 day trip to Sicily planned by two travel companies. Everything was planned perfectly with our wonderful driver, Vincent, and excellent guides as we went along.  The hotel in Taormina, Hotel Panoramic was excellent and had a great view.  Also, the Hotel Felice in Palermo located in the historic district was small, modern and had the best restaurant upstairs on the roof overlooking the city.  We would give a five star report to both these agencies for wonderful service.  I would rate both travel companies with five stars.

Italy Tour Review: Sicily, Ortigia, Taormina, Positano, Capri, Palermo, Mt. Etna, Culture, Cooking Class, Hiking, 20-Day Trip

My girlfriend and I just returned from a breathtaking trip to Southern Italy and Sicily that several years ago I could have only dreamed of. I used Zicasso and they put me in touch with the travel agency out of Florence, Italy and my goodness did Eleonora and her team work closely with me to put together a fabulous itinerary for us, chock full of magnificent touring, adventure and culinary experiences, at a very reasonable price. They stayed in close touch with us throughout our magical trip and were a constant source of insight. Our drivers and tour guides arranged for us were all first class. The romantic sea and land views from our hotels in particular in Ortigia and Taormina, Sicily and in Positano and Capri were beyond stunning. The cultural experiences will never be forgotten. The Sicilian and pizza cooking classes were all interesting and memorable.  And I’ll always look back fondly and chuckle at the fun of our Palermo, Sicily street food tour experience and smile broadly about our hiking experience on Mt Etna and wine tasting and lunch at a home winery within the mountain foothills offered by our gracious host. So much more to remember. We were very happy with Zicasso and the travel company for arranging such a fabulous trip for us and very highly recommend their services.

Travel Review: Italy Tour, Rome, Positano, Florence, Amalfi Coast, Siena, San Gimignano, Venice, Naples, Pompeii, Capri, Wine Tour
Our travel specialist truly did a fantastic job planning a 12-day dream trip to Italy for my wife, 18-year-old daughter and me. Early on, she provided suggested itineraries and options to fit our time frame and budget and then communicated frequently with us by phone and email to fine tune it. She was patient during the planning stage when we were at times indecisive. She arranged for travel insurance as well. Before the trip, she mailed us a comprehensive package with all the information and vouchers/tickets/travel tips we would need and scheduled a call with us to walk through each of the items in the packet. We were more impressed when we arrived in Italy and experienced the flawless execution of her planning. There were no mix-ups or unpleasant surprises - everything went according to her plan. We flew in and out of Rome and stayed four nights in Florence, three in Positano on the Amalfi coast, and three in Rome. We absolutely loved the beauty, food, history and shopping in Florence. During our time there, we took a day trip with a private driver to the medieval towns of Sienna and San Gimignano and had a memorable wine tasting lunch at a quaint winery recommended by our driver. We also used one of our free days to take a day trip to Venice via train. It was a long day, but we were so glad we got to see and experience this magical city. We then took a train to Naples and were greeted by a courteous driver who took us to Pompeii for a 2-hour guided tour and then on to Positano. Before he dropped us off at our hotel, our driver arranged reservations for us at a fabulous family-owned restaurant with an off-the-menu prix fixe five course meal - with an incredible view of the sea and hillside. Our time in Positano was surreal with incredible views, delicious food, and friendly people. The boat tour to Capri was out of this world! In Rome, we thoroughly enjoyed a four plus hour food stroll in the Trastevere area, where we sampled typical Roman cheeses, meats, pasta, suppli (risotto balls), pasta and wine. We saw the main tourist attractions as well, and as with all the other excursions on our trip, it was so nice to "skip the lines" and be guided by a knowledgeable and entertaining docent who told stories that made the history and artwork come to life. The hotels were all unique, comfortable, and conveniently located within walking distance of most attractions. They also served scrumptious fresh breakfast buffets with our choice of espresso drinks each morning. Yum! We never would have had the knowledge, time, or contacts to plan such a vacation on our own. Thanks for everything!

Italy Luxury Anniversary Tour Review: Sicily, Amalfi Coast, Mt. Etna, Private Yatch Tours, Cooking Classes, Winery, 12-Day Trip
We recently traveled for 12 days through Taormina (Sicily), Capri and the Amalfi Coast (Amalfi and Positano) for our 25th wedding anniversary. We've used Zicasso for previous trips, and this one didn't disappoint for all the reasons that one expects of a luxury/bespoke tour agency. It was an absolutely outstanding experience across the board. Our agent listened carefully to what we wanted and put together a perfect itinerary, including a mix of fantastic excursions and activities with sufficient down time to make it feel like a true holiday. The hotels were top notch (including some that we absolutely would not have been able to access without an agent), and all of the details were taken care of - the planes, ferries, drivers were all handled in advance and everything went off without a hitch. It also helped that the guides and drivers were all very engaging. This agency and our agent were great. Cameron has a deep knowledge and understanding of the country, and I would absolutely use her again for future trips to Italy. Highly recommend.
