Review: Luxury Italy Family Vacation, Rome, Venice, Florence, Tuscany, Chianti, Verona, Milan

My husband and I, along with our 2 children (age 20 and 17), enjoyed a wonderful Italian vacation booked through Zicasso and this travel agency.  Our travel consultants listened to my ideas and arranged for us a fantastic custom itinerary.   They stayed within the budget allotted, offered choices for beautiful hotels and private tours, and made several revisions as per our request.  We departed from New York on our 25th anniversary, and spent 10 days traveling the country within the month of November.  This off-season time proved to be a great decision as reservations were easy to obtain, crowds were minimal (mostly all locals), and the weather was conducive for walking and sightseeing (average 60 degrees F).  Transportation and the personal drivers were top notch; with Mercedes SUVs or minivans to take my family from Milan-Chianti-Florence-Verona-Venice and then the high speed train down to Rome.  Accommodations arranged for us were phenomenal!  We stayed in a 12th century castle in Chianti, in the heart of the city center in Florence, and near the Spanish Steps in Rome.  The personal tour guides were friendly and knowledgable, and were happy to recommend eateries preferred by locals.  All in all, everything was flawless. We plan to return some day to see the Amalfi coast, Positano and Capri.  We would absolutely recommend these travel consultants, and the travel company team to anyone who is looking for a personalized Italian vacation.

Travel Review: Italy Tour, Venice, Florence, Tuscany, Sorrento, Naples, Pompeii, Path of Gods Hike, Bicycle Tour

Excellent staff at this travel company and all guides and drivers were enjoyable and informative. Especially loved the Rome, Pompeii, Praiano, and Venice portions of the travel and our guides deserved 5 star ratings!

Florence was "touristy" and we would shorten or change tour there (unless you want to shop) although guide did her best. Tuscany hotel was unpretentious and had wonderful dinners with surprise amuse bouche and complimentary chocolates following the meal in the main restaurant. I recommend the snail pasta. Bike ride was much shorter (10 miles) than we liked in Chianti but the following wine luncheon/tour was delightful. Our guide and van driver were most helpful in biking but we really didn't need as many breaks as they allowed. Additionally, the hiking tour in Tuscany was unremarkable. The guide seemed confused as to a different option when we told him we had already walked the hotel trails. The trek needed more interesting stops (ie historic buildings). Would recommend the hiking tour only if you are a city person and not used to seeing the country side.

Rarely, but did feel on occasion, the "push" to purchase a product/store that was shown to us.

Travel assistance was always (with one exception leaving Chianti and barely allowing enough time to train) on spot and helpful. Very efficient use of our available vacation time and they planned this on short notice for us.

Italy Family Vacation Review: Rome, Florence, Tuscany, Venice, Verona, Pisa, Positano, Naples, Siena, Vatican City, Colosseum

We recently enjoyed a whirlwind trip through Italy.  We began in Venice and ended this incredibly memorable trip in Positano.  The fact that I had nothing to worry about is what really impressed me.  Everything was outlined, our itinerary was planned out for us including suggestions about restaurants.  My travel group consisted of myself, my spouse, my 12 year old and 5 year old daughters along with my mom, sister and 13 year old niece.  Our private drivers were waiting for us at all destinations from the airport to boats in Venice to our train in Naples.  The hotels were impressive, especially in Chianti although it was a little out of the way from Florence but the hotel provides a shuttle service.  We had guided tours in Venice, Siena, Rome (Vatican City and the Colosseum) and Pompeii.  We also had stops in Verona, San Gimignano and Montepulciano.  We finish our trip in Positano and are able to unwind and relax.   We fell in love with Italy but having someone driving us around and talking about their beautiful country made our trip special.  My husband was very pleased with the service and having our agents available with just a phone call made it easier.  I can't wait to go back!

Italy Anniversary Vacation Review: Rome, Venice, Florence, Tuscany, Sorrento, Amalfi Coast, Pompeii, Uffizi Gallery, Vatican Tour

We did a 12 day trip that included Venice, Florence, Tuscany, Rome, Pompeii and the Amalfi Coast. It was a 30th anniversary trip for us. My brother and sister-in-law also travelled with us. It was our first trip to Italy and we wanted to make sure that we could enjoy our vacation without worrying about logistics, transportation, etc. And having never been in Italy, we needed guidance and recommendations for the right accommodations. Our travel agency met or exceeded all of our expectations. Our agents paid close attention to our wishes and carefully planned out the perfect itinerary. They did so while also honoring our budget. They put us in great hotels in the hearts of Venice, Rome and Florence. And we had spectacular views from our hotels in Tuscany and Sorrento. Great drivers and guides were arranged at every stop. In addition to private tours of traditional sites (Vatican, Coliseum, Uffizzi Gallery, St. Mark's Basilica, Pompeii), Our agents also arranged a one of kind wine-tasting and lunch at a small Tuscan farm and a special cooking class at a Michelin starred restaurant. Even with all of the activities, we still had plenty of free time to wander on our own or simply relax. Plus, our agents were always available by phone or e-mail both before and during the trip if we had any questions. They are incredibly responsive. And all of this cost about the same as a high quality group tour. We felt like we got the perfect 30th anniversary trip and that it was an excellent value. I highly recommend this company.

Travel Review: Italy Honeymoon, Florence, Venice, Amalfi Coast, Capri, Tuscany, Chianti, Cooking Class, Fine Dining

My wife and I can't say enough good things about this agency's entire team. They planned and orchestrated an amazing 18-day Italian honeymoon for us, personalized to our tastes and needs. We traveled from the Chianti region to Florence to Venice to the Amalfi Cost and finally to Rome. The connections and transfers set up by the team were seamless. We had amazing tour guides and drivers in each city, one better than the next. The hotels we stayed in were 5 star and in the heart of each destination.  Also, our agent set up this trip so we had a wonderful balance of planned activities and free time. That is the best part about working with this team; they custom-built our trip for us from winery visits, food tastings, cooking classes, Michelin star restaurants, tours of museums, etc.  I felt that we got to see so much of Italy in a short time yet at the same time we were never rushed or overscheduled.  I was so impressed with the service we received from this travel agency and their partners.  As an example, we threw a curveball at our agent's when we decided to depart 3 days early to avoid a hurricane at home.  We had less than 24 hours to change our flights, find hotels, change the itinerary, etc.  Our agents responded quickly and efficiently.  They worked overnight to get us extended hotels stays, transportation and to change our plans.  They are an amazing team.  I am so happy we decided to book with this travel agency and recommend them to anyone looking for an unforgettable 5-star vacation to Italy.

Travel Review: Luxury Italy Vacation, Positano, Capri, Florence, Rome, Winery, Path of the Gods, Private Boat Tour, Cycling
It is a genuine pleasure to recommend this company, as our recent trip to Italy was utterly fantastic. Our travel specialist personally knows all of the people we were with, from the drivers to the winery owners to the private guides, boat captains and everyone in between.  His team hand-picked the people and places and experiences - and this attention to detail made all the difference.  Private lunches at a beautiful winery, walking the Path of the Gods and enjoying a private meal - with veggies picked fresh from the mountainside garden, sipping wine in a natural cave turned into a mini winery and enjoying the amazing scenery above Positano.  Guided tours in Florence and Rome, cycling in Chianti and staying at a world-class hotel that used to be an ancient villa... a private boat trip to Capri which included a swim in the crystal clear (and chilly!) Mediterranean... truly excellent.  On the front end, they worked with us patiently and crafted a clear, customized itinerary, handled all the payments and vouchers, and they were available mid-trip to answer some questions and help us with a couple requests.  We wholeheartedly recommend our travel specialist and this company, and will absolutely work with them again on future trips.  Give them a call - you won't be disappointed!
