Detailed Description
Japan presents many faces to the modern traveler. From its ancient shrines to modern skyscrapers, this complex country is a jewel to explore for any length of time. In this 7-day tour, have the adventure of a lifetime as you experience the best of what Japan has to offer.
Your journey begins in Kyoto, Japan’s ancient capital and home to 17 UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Walk in the footsteps of emperors and get to know the locals during a private cooking class. Dine on Kyoto’s most well-known cuisine, perfected after centuries of refinement.
From Kyoto, you are off to Hakone, a resort town with splendid national parks, sparking lakes, and the country’s best views of Mt. Fuji. Take a lake cruise or ropeway ride to soak in the sights before trekking through fields of steaming volcanic rock. In the evening, indulge in an onsen bath at your traditional Japanese inn before dining on meat and vegetables from around the region.
Your last two days in Japan are in Tokyo, Japan’s capital and the largest city in the world. Make Tokyo your playground as you rub shoulders with commuters in Tokyo’s packed subway cars and picnic under the cherry blossoms on a fine spring day. Your final dinner is at one of Tokyo’s best restaurants, the capstone of your journey.
Suitable for friends or couples of all ages, this 7-day tour is best taken in late March or early April when Japan’s cherry blossoms are in full bloom. October is another excellent month to travel to Japan, as the mild weather and the colorful foliage adds another stunning layer to Japan’s already beautiful countryside.

We had a wonderful experience from start to finish and I recommend them highly. The tour designer from the tour company provided us with a fantastic itinerary that hit everything we were hoping to see and do - from guided tours through Tokyo and Kyoto, to views of Mt. Fuji and hot springs in Hakone, to fabulous meals and cultural experiences. Our detailed itinerary, rail passes, and pocket wifi made it very easy for us to navigate through Japan and all of our accommodations were great.

My trip, overall, was fantastic. I loved Japan and all its offerings. Of my scheduled tours by the Zicasso tour company, four were wonderful and two in Tokyo were okay.
On May 19, a tour guide arrived at my hotel for a tour that was paid for, but not shown on my itinerary.
The company that was supposed to pick me up at the airport in Tokyo went to the wrong airport, so I took a taxi to the hotel.
The hotel in Kyoto was disappointing. It was also the only stop where I had four days. It was quite dated and not consistent with the other accommodations, especially coming from Hakone, where the hotel was so wonderful.
I was not scheduled to take the bullet train, which I would have liked to experience.
I felt very pressured to pay for the trip and thereafter communication was vague and stressful on final details.
In the end, I enjoyed all my destinations and planned activities.

We have nothing but positive things to say about our trip to Japan that was planned by Laura at this Japan travel agency. The itinerary was perfect and we felt that we were able to see and experience so much in just two weeks. Laura was very responsive and answered all of our questions very promptly via email or phone. We received info-packs prior to our departure that allowed us to feel well prepared and plan our daily activities. Everything flowed seamlessly, from airport transfers, to hotel check-ins, to guided tours. The hotels were all nice and comfortable with very helpful staff. We had the opportunity to visit Tokyo, Hakone, Kyoto, Nara, Osaka, and Yokohama. Our guided tours in Tokyo and Kyoto and our bike tour in Kyoto were all outstanding. The timing of our trip allowed us to see the beautiful cherry blossoms in full bloom. We also got to experience a baseball game. We honestly cannot think of anything that this agency could have done better. We highly recommend them and are already starting to plan our next trip with them!

Our first trip to Japan was perfect, thanks to Zicasso’s travel agency! The itinerary and careful planning met all of our expectations.
We were able to visit historical sites and experience local culture with our wonderful guides. And we didn't feel like typical tourists because our guides provided so much information, things we wouldn't have learned going by ourselves. The itinerary took us to Tokyo, Hakone, Kyoto, Nara, and Osaka in 12 days, and while there was so much to see, we didn't feel rushed or like we missed out on anything.
We highly recommend our tour operator to anyone wishing to have a personalized experience visiting Japan!
