Signature Masai Mara & Serengeti Great Migration Safari

What to expect on this itinerary
The iconic Mara River divides the grasslands to separate the Masai Mara from the Serengeti. From June to October, both sides of the river teem with wildlife as the resident mammals are joined by the marauding millions of the great wildebeest migration. Such abundance creates Africa's greatest wildlife spectacle and the signature cycle of predator and prey. Much like the ungulates, this 9-day safari intimately explores both sides of the Mara and East Africa's flagship experience.

Mara North Conservancy – First Game Drive
Even on the remote airstrip, you can sense the tension. Not from the aviation officials, but from a herd of Thomson's gazelle that are scattered across the plains. They are on high alert, although none of them seem quite sure where the threat is coming from? In your safari vehicle, you will have a higher vantage point, and the guide manages to betray the cheetah's camouflage. The spotted hunter moves furtively through the grass until a muffled call rings out and the gazelle scatters, skipping across the airstrip right in front of your eyes. Welcome to the Masai Mara, the land where predator and prey live out the circle of life and not even a plane can interrupt the show.
After landing at Nairobi International Airport, you will be transferred to Nairobi Wilson Airport for the light aircraft flight to the Mara North Conservancy. The journey from the airstrip to the lodge is a short one, but you are already on safari so the guide will take you on a leisurely game drive across the plains. Hippos open their enormous jaws as you stop for a picnic lunch by a river. Lionesses are also spotted hiding in the grass on the trail of a skittish hartebeest herd as the sightings of wildebeest and zebra seem never to end. When two million mammals are congregated on the plains, it's hard to go long without inspiring wildlife encounters. The length of the game drive is flexible, looping you across the ecosystem to the your lodge and the tranquility of a private cottage where you can gaze out from the verandah, and the wildlife sights continue.

We had an absolutely fantastic time and full credit goes to our safari travel company. In particularly, our agent's communication was clear and prompt from before the trip to after. Kudos especially to our wonderful guides for an amazing time. The accommodation in Masai Mara (Neptune Luxury camp) was comfortable and fitted to our needs, the accommodation in Serengeti on the other hand, was a bit too rustic for our taste but was a fun experience nonetheless (waking up to lions roaring in close proximity!). We definitely plan on returning to East Africa, and will be using Zicasso/ this safari travel company for a wonderful bespoke itinerary.

Our trip was built upon trying to experience the great migration and thus, visiting the Masai Mara and the Serengeti. We were very fortunate to experience the build up of the great migration from the Mara with each day the number of wildebeest and zebras growing exponentially each day. Our last day in the Mara the numbers exceed a million wildebeest and zebras.
Our travel company worked collaboratively with us months before our trip detailing out our options. We are extremely happy with their advice and counsel in which properties we selected. Each property exceeded our high expectations. Their attention to details was very much appreciated. For example, we were greeted upon our arrival in Nairobi prior to reaching the luggage carousel and guided through the "process". Similarly upon our departure we had someone walk us through security, customs and then arranged for us to spend time in a airport club without travelling with that airline or related partner.

This African safari tour operator was just extraordinary! My kids and I had the experience of a lifetime and will be forever changed because of it. Everything was perfect!
Each place we stayed was extraordinary, especially the two camps, Serian being our favorite. All ran smoothly, not a single worry or question, flights, transfers, all expertly choreographed. The guides were fantastic, knowledgeable, friendly, patient and buttoned up.We had three in total and now consider them our friends! My kids may have felt we had one too many game drives, but I could've gone on them endlessly. We saw it all, the Big Five and so much more. The Masai tribe visit was fascinating, the Wildebeast migration was stunning, the hot air balloon ride over the Serengeti incredible, the crater educational, I could go on and on.
I have already recommended this company to many, and will most definitely use them again.
