Nairobi - Arrive in Africa
Touching down at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport in Kenya’s capital city of Nairobi will mark the beginning of your exclusive African adventure. After meeting your guide in the arrivals hall, you will drive into Nairobi’s leafy suburbs of Langata, arriving at the Macushla House. Founded by an Irish family, this property offers the amenities of a hotel in a personal and warm home environment. With two cozy lounges, a large covered verandah and a swimming pool nestled within a lush garden, this will be the perfect place to unwind after a long day of travel.
Depending on your arrival time and energy level, it may be of interest to explore the neighborhood before joining the lodge for dinner. The hotel is located within walking distance of Giraffe Manor, a conservation site for the Rothschild Giraffe. Here, you can visit an iconic colonial house – currently operating as a lodge – in addition to visiting the AFEW Giraffe Center. Alternatively, the Daphne Sheldrick Elephant Orphanage is only a short drive away, and gives visitors the opportunity to watch the adorable orphaned baby elephants interact with their caregivers and each other twice daily. For those interested in absorbing some Kenyan history and culture, the Karen Blixen and Nairobi Museums are only a short drive away, as are a number of craft centers. You will return to the lodge in time for a fresh and local evening meal, served within an intimate dining room, before returning to your private suite for the evening.

Our safari to the Masai Mara in Kenya exceeded our expectations! Our agent listened and took the time to help us find the right style of accommodation for our safari. Elephant Pepper Camp provided the perfect "luxury camp" experience...deluxe en suite tents, warm hospitality, delicious food and most important a beautiful setting with a fantastic guide and wildlife viewing beyond our dreams.
In Kenya all service was provided with ease and a smile, we had no problem with hotel or airport transfers.
We did have one issue with paperwork/billing prior to departure from the U.S. This was resolved fairly, however, it must be noted. It didn't diminish or affect our actual travels but is something I didn't expect to deal with from an agency of this caliber.

From the initial email contact and telephone conversation with the Zicasso travel agent, we could sense we were in good hands. He was very responsive to our ideas about a trip to Africa and his vast knowledge of the continent was immediately evident. Based on the information provided he quickly turned around a proposed itinerary for a trip to Kenya. Ultimately, we decided on safaris in Amboseli, Lewa, and Maasai Mara. Each location was beautiful in its own unique way. The accommodations were more than comfortable and the food was excellent. The Kenyan people were beyond friendly and the wildlife viewing was amazing.
In addition, we got some sense of the local cultures and were very pleased to learn that a portion of the revenue generated by our stays in each location went to the local conservation efforts.
The logistics of the trip were seamless, starting with our arrival in Nairobi very late on a Monday night, through to our return to the Nairobi airport on the evening of our departure.
The team at the travel agency handled all of the details and enabled our family to truly experience the trip of a lifetime. We would recommend this travel agency without reservation.

This was definitely a "bucket list" trip for us and this Africa safari travel company made it absolutely wonderful. The company was easy to work with and very patient considering our trip was almost last minute. Our guides took great care of us after we landed in Nairobi and for the next 2 weeks through 3 national parks and 1 conservancy. They were all excellent drivers and extremely knowledgeable about the wildlife, people and ecology of the areas.

Our trip was built upon trying to experience the great migration and thus, visiting the Masai Mara and the Serengeti. We were very fortunate to experience the build up of the great migration from the Mara with each day the number of wildebeest and zebras growing exponentially each day. Our last day in the Mara the numbers exceed a million wildebeest and zebras.
Our travel company worked collaboratively with us months before our trip detailing out our options. We are extremely happy with their advice and counsel in which properties we selected. Each property exceeded our high expectations. Their attention to details was very much appreciated. For example, we were greeted upon our arrival in Nairobi prior to reaching the luggage carousel and guided through the "process". Similarly upon our departure we had someone walk us through security, customs and then arranged for us to spend time in a airport club without travelling with that airline or related partner.
