Family Vacation to Spain Review: Sailing, Museums, Barcelona Bike Tours & Tapas, Madrid El Retiro Park, Nerja, Cordoba Mosque
Our family had an amazing vacation in Spain.  Our planner at this travel team could not been better to work with.  He was always quick to respond both during the planning phase of our trip, and as well as while we were in Spain.  If we showed up a few minutes late to meet a driver, we would receive a call or text to make sure everything was ok.  During our family sailing day, I left my purse on the boat and he kindly contacted our captain and set up a meeting time to retrieve it. I cannot express how wonderful it was to have a local travel agent to contact.  He also provided a WiFi hotspot to use which was key since we have 3 teenage children!  Our trip planner also met our family for a drink while we were in Madrid.  It was so nice to put a face to his name.  Meeting us in person was above and beyond good service. As for the actual vacation part:  We flew in and out of Madrid as it was the only direct flight from our area (DFW).  Once we arrived at the airport we had a driver take us to the high speed train to Barcelona.  We had a bike tour and tapas our first night in Barcelona which was a lot of fun and a great way to see the city.  We also toured La Sagrada Familia, Park Guell, and other Gaudi sites.  We had a great time at the Barcelona Cooking class making paella.  After Madrid we visited Seville first to the Triana area with an awesome local guide enjoying tapas and learning to appreciate sherry and Tinto de verano.  Of course we visited the Cathedral and Real Alcazar as well.  Then we had a day trip to the amazing Cordoba where we visited the Mezquita (Mosque Cathedral).  We took a break from touring and relaxed in the Axarquia region in Nerja.  The Nerja hotel was a beautifully situated hotel with amazing views. While in Nerja we had a fun family sailing day with our awesome captain.  We took a day trip to the incomparable Alhambra which is not to be missed!  Finally, we travelled to Madrid where we enjoyed a walking tour and the highlights of the Prado museum.  Our family enjoyed a day trip to Toledo and then took in a fabulous Flamenco show and dinner on our return to Madrid. We had time to explore Madrid on our own.  Our kids were done with tours by then, but my husband and I visited the Royal Palace (Wow!!!) and the Reina Sofia museum.  Then we ended with a stroll at Retiro Park. It was a full but wonderful vacation!

Morocco & Spain Luxury Tour Review: Barcelona, Sevilla, Madrid, Marrakech, Casablanca, Gaudi, Museums, Cooking Class, 9-Day Trip

This trip planned by Samuel was fantastic. He was very patient with us during the planning process as we had many emails back and forth and many questions and changes. We were impressed with the arrangements, the drivers and especially the guides.

Our guide was enthusiastic and knowledgeable and however, we didn’t have a lot in common with him to converse over the tapas. We were more than impressed with all of the other guides and especially the last one (perhaps because he was the last and he is mostly in our recent memory) but he was enthusiastic, funny and adjusted to our needs and especially went out of his way to provide an olive oil experience. We felt they all went out of their way to accommodate our needs and interests. We enjoyed all of the hotels but most especially the Sevilla hotel. We did not care much for the Barcelona hotel, due to the arrangement of the bathroom. We felt the service was not as superior, although the front desk personnel were very helpful. The pool on the roof was outstanding but we didn’t have time to use it. We missed having bathtubs in Madrid and Barcelona. The breakfasts were all wonderful and the Riad in Marrakech went out of their way to bring us a breakfast tray at 3 am before out very early departure that day.

There is one thing that always bothered us a bit and Samuel tried to explain it but we wondered why we could not have flown into Marrakech instead of Casablanca and therefore have avoided the long drive to Marrakech and the expense of it and then on departure why we could not have flown from Marrakech to Sevilla rather than going back to Casablanca. While in Lisbon we saw on the flight schedule board a flight going into Marrakech that departed about 5” after our flight to Casablanca??It was great having the What’s Ap group for trouble shooting and questions along the way - I have not had that before with Zicasso and we found it very reassuring and helpful and used it on a couple of occasions. I must say that I always recommend Zicasso to friends who are travellers

At the moment this is all I can think of - if I do think of something else I will contact later.

Review: Luxury Spain Vacation, Madrid, Seville, Nerja, Tapas Tour, Flamenco, Wine Tasting & Lunch

I can't rave enough about the beautiful trip that this travel agent planned for us to fully experience Spain. My husband and I were headed to Marrakech on business and decided last minute to explore Spain on the way. Our agent quickly put together the perfect plan for us with visits to Madrid, Seville and Nerja. We had requested a luxury leisurely trip with unique "non-touristy" experiences and he delivered at every turn. We stayed in unique venues (including a beautiful 5-star palace!), toured the food scene in each city with locals and clapped into early morning with our own private flamenco instructor. Transportation from city to city was a breeze and each of our drivers was prompt and courteous. Our agent provided us with a list of his must-see places and favorite restaurants and even met us for coffee. The personal touch that we experienced is what stands out the most. Thanks to the meticulous planning of this travel company, we experienced a stress-free once-in-a-lifetime vacation that allowed us to experience Spain in a way that we could not have on our own.

Review: Tour of Portugal, Morocco & Spain, Madrid, Marrakech, Seville, Bilbao, Guggenheim, Douro Valley, Cooking Lesson

It was a pleasure working with this travel agent who planned our vacation to Marrakesh, Northern Spain and Portugal.   He was always available and prompt in responding to questions and offering suggestions throughout the planning stages and especially during our trip.  Our travel agent continuous open communication between his professional guides, driver and clients was reassuring that we were always being taken care and completely satisfied.  During the trip, we wanted to visit the Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao, we emailed our agent and he had it all arranged.   He was always in touch to adjust our schedule to offer the best itinerary.

All 6 travelers in my group thoroughly enjoyed our personalized itinerary--selections of hotels, knowledgeable guides, variety of "off the beaten path" activities in each destination,  alternating & combination of being in a big city followed by exploring the countryside villages and towns offered for a relaxing 30 day trip.

This travel company also provided 2 Wifi devices which was very convenient.

Travel Review: Tour of Spain, Barcelona, Madrid, San Sebastian, Granada, Prado Museum, Alhambra, Mezquita, Sagrada Familia

Our travel agency's expertise, organization and guidance of our tour of Spain was exceptional. This travel planner is a great listener and thoroughly reviewed our profile to tailor the trip to our specific interests: architecture, museums and gastronomy. We traveled to Barcelona, San Sebastian, Madrid, Sevilla, and different towns in Andalucía. In addition to fantastic walking, museum and food tours (Tapas, Pintxos and Txakoli), Our travel planner arranged day trips to Dali Museum (Figueres), Bilbo Guggenheim, Toledo, Cordoba, and Granada. Our tour guides were all local, certified guides with expertise in art history, Spain’s history and local foods.  The guides were extremely knowledgeable and friendly. They freely offered suggestions for dinner and activities on our free day in each city.  Our travel planner encouraged us to self-drive from Sevilla to the Costa del Sol region. Our drive through the mountains was spectacular with acres of sunflowers and beautiful white villages.  We stopped in Ronda and spent the afternoon exploring the city with its breath-taking ravines and gorge spanning bridges.  We would not be able to self-drive without this travel agency loaning us their Wi-Fi Away device that allowed us to use Google Maps to guide us to various places.  In addition, he emailed us our detailed itinerary with times, guides’ name, and description of our activities. At our first hotel, we found our full travel package neatly organized with several envelopes containing our train/plane tickets, maps for each city and side trips, restaurant suggestions by city/town and another copy of our itinerary. Our travel planner kept in contract via text to welcome us and gentle reminders to bring our passports to Alhambra. He was available to us 24/7 as he was during our planning process. People inquire “What was your favorite city or place?” and we can’t pick just one:  it is like asking which of your children do you love the most.  We are already thinking about where to travel next with this travel agency, perhaps back to Spain and on to Portugal or Morocco. Thank you again to our travel planner and your entire staff for an unforgettable trip.
