The Avon River winds gently through the city, from Hagley Park to the cobble-paved streets of the city center. Botanic Gardens offer colorful blossoming flowers to antique stone buildings and art projects that have sprouted since the aftermath of the 2010 and 2011 earthquakes. We have just returned from a 6 week trip to Australia and New Zealand. Our travel agents and their team at this travel company are personable, professional, knowledgeable and did an amazing job putting together our trip! Our collaboration involved several phone calls to discuss options and preferences as our trip was being organized as well as a pre-trip call to answer any questions. Our email exchange was continuous and responses were very prompt. We even received a call once during our travels to check in. Our detailed itinerary was precise and accurate. Every connection, tour, driver, hotel, etc. was on time and of excellent quality. While in New Zealand in Milford Sound our flight back to Queenstown was cancelled due to poor weather and we received a quick refund.
In Australia we visited Sydney, Melbourne and the Great Ocean Road ( a favorite of ours!), Uluru, Port Douglas and the Great Barrier Reef, and Hobart, Tasmania. We only stayed a few days in Tasmania but would love to return to enjoy more of the wilderness outside of Hobart.
In New Zealand we visited Auckland and then drove to the Coromandel Peninsula, Rotorua, and Napier. Then we flew to Christchurch on the South Island and drove to Mt. Cook, Queenstown, and Dunedin. If you are big fans of the outdoors, spend more time on the South Island.
Our agent selected beautiful and centrally located lodging that usually offered laundry facilities-helpful for a long trip! The travel company also provided a suggested restaurant list that proved to be excellent! We would highly recommend this company for your Down Under adventures! When we travel again to that part of the world, we will definitely call this company.

Overall, our trip was excellent. Despite some of our excursions being canceled due to weather and some car rental arrangements, etc, getting off to a rocky start, we had a great time.
Everywhere we stayed had excellent service and accommodations. Due to some dietary restrictions, we did struggle in certain places to find affordable food that we could eat. Most notably, this was in Christchurch. Most of the struggle was due to the location of our accommodation and the timing of activities planned from there. This made getting food suitable for our needs the following day impossible due to it being too far to reach any grocery store or restaurant before they closed. At this stage in our trip, we did not have a rental car.
One other instance we felt ill-prepared for was our visit to Mount Cook. We stayed at a lodge. Not knowing our room came with a kitchen, we did not come prepared with much food to cook ourselves and had to rely on the restaurant. It was disappointing to realize the nearest grocery store was almost an hour's drive back the way we had come.
We were also been informed by the tour company that they would inform the places we were staying at and dining with of our dietary restrictions. We assumed this was not done, most notably for our stay outside of Christchurch. They had prepared a beautiful arrangement of snacks and hors d'oeuvres, much of which we could not eat due to it not being gluten-free. We are not certain if this was the fault of the travel company not passing along the info or if this was the hotel's oversight. Either way, we still had a good time.
One other small suggestion we would make would be to note what accommodations do not include elevators or are not handicap accessible. At some of our accommodations, all of the rooms were on the second floor, with no elevators. Even those traveling with large luggage would find this information useful.
Again, overall this was a great trip and Zicasso's tour company was good to work with. They arranged and planned an excellent trip, and were easy to contact when we had difficulties with car rentals on the first day. We would recommend them to anyone planning their first trip to New Zealand.

We were very pleased with the service we received from our Zicasso travel agent. She designed an itinerary that was perfect for us, focused on seeing wildlife and some of the beautiful, must-see places in Australia and New Zealand. The accommodations she picked exceeded our expectations and the tours were great. After my sister and I had an initial conversation with her, we knew we wanted to work with her.
We spent about eight days in Australia. We flew into Sydney, spent a night there, then on to the Port Douglas area, where we visited an excellent wildlife habitat where we were able to hold koalas and feed kangaroos. A cruise to the Great Barrier Reef was enjoyable, but unfortunately, it had rained quite a bit and the water was murky and very choppy. Next, we flew to Melbourne (a beautiful city) and had a wonderful time in that area. For tours, we went to Phillip Island and a wildlife sanctuary to see the smallest penguins emerge from the sea. The next day, we went on a two-day/one-night Great Ocean tour, which was spectacular.
We started the New Zealand part of the trip in Queenstown, a very scenic town. From there, we had a day trip to Milford Sound, which was beautiful, and a very enjoyable paradise walk. We next traveled to the Mount Cook area, but unfortunately, the stargazing was canceled due to cloudy skies. Our last excursion was to Christchurch. There we visited the Arthur’s Pass National Park, which included a TranzAlpine train trip.

We booked a trip to Australia and New Zealand for the first three weeks on January 2017 using this travel agency to coordinate our trip. I spoke with our agent who assured me and made recommendations based on my specific places to visit. She also made suggestions on places that she felt were "must see" venues!. We visited Sydney ( city tour plus Blue Mountain Tour). Carin's, Port Douglas (GBR, Daintree Rain Forest, Cape Tribulation) and Melbourne (walk about with koalas and kangaroo in there natural habitat while in AZ and Qweenstown (Miford sound), Mount Cook (glacier boat ride), ChristChurch (Akaroa Harbour tours and boat trip to view dolphins ), Rotoura (Geothermal tour plus lakes tour as well as Spellbound Glowworm and Caves tours), and finally Auckland. The hotels varied from upscale hotels, boutique venues and one B&B. They try to secure hotel locations were the action is close to major sites in the city. Breakfast was included at each hotel and the food was good!. There was only one hotel that I did not care for the accommodations but the location was great. We received a total package from our agent prior to the vacations launch as well as receiving a voucher packet with all hotel, shuttles to and from the airports, and tour pick ups at the hotels in each country. Every pick up and tour started and left just as planned. There was not one glitch the entire trip with all the flights, pickups or tours that were selected!. The boutique tours were great since we had 4-8 people only which made them much more intimate with experienced guides. I give them a 5-star rating for coordinating and verifying all the arrangements.
