New Zealand’s South Island can be utterly romantic. Amorous tones float across mountains and fjords, vineyards and spas boast tranquility and luxury, and the wilderness cultivates incredible days of solitude and exploration. Just to feel the landscapes and experience such natural splendor can be very romantic. With the exclusive and amorous extras of South Island, you can indulge in the ultimate couple’s getaway. Handcrafted with private experiences and exclusive activities, this is the most romantic nine days you can have on the South Island. From vineyards and whales to fjords and picnics, you will come to discover each other, along with an island like no other.

After flying to Christchurch, you can jump around the snow of the Antarctic Interpretation Center before a fine dining restaurant introduces the exclusivity and subtlety of your itinerary. On day two, you will soar over the Canterbury Plains in a hot air balloon before spending two nights in a luxurious Kaikoura lodge. Whale encounters will accompany the cuisine, and you will be immersed in Marlborough, where the fabulous sounds provide waterside bliss. Here, you can go tasting at iconic New Zealand vineyards. These first five days will all take place around the east and northeast areas of the South Island, which are areas that typically feature sunny days and bucolic landscapes.

You will conclude your romantic vacation with three nights in Queenstown, which is a southern town enveloped by wilderness and fjords. Here, it is cooler and crisper, so you can jump into a wilderness spa and spend all of day six in each other’s company. Flying over Fiordland is a magical experience for day seven, and you will be landing on a glacier, indulging in a picnic on a pasture hidden from the world, and basking in the absolute exclusivity of this wilderness experience. Finally, you will have a day of laid-back food and wine in the world’s southernmost wine region, which will be followed by an evening in one of the country’s ultimate lodges.

New Zealand Luxury Vacation Review: Queenstown, Wellington, Christchurch, Waiheke Island, Auckland, Rotorua, Franz Joseph Glacier

We felt very comfortable planning our trip with Rick. We told him our interests, concerns and and the pace we wanted to travel at.  He presented us with an itinerary which we spent hours reviewing along with a map, photos and and a website. Our primary hub towns were Queenstown, Wellington and Christchurch. We used two regional flights and two trains with gorgeous views of the coast and mountains. We took a few cruises and a private flight over the glaciers. Our River Dartboat excursion was cancelled when the drivers came down with Covid and the swim with the Dolphins mistakenly cancelled us off this trip. Cyclone Gabriela damaged Napier and the Coromandel Penninsula and the access roads, so we had to create an alternate plan on the ground in NZ. We added two days at Waiheke Island and attempted a hike up mount Doom and visits to the Weta Projects in Auckland and Wellington.Rick was amazingly helpful with changes that had to be made before and during the trip. He was the best!

Travel Review: Trip to Australia & New Zealand, Sydney, Melbourne, Queenstown, Rotorua, Uluru, Met Cook, Great Ocean Road

We have just returned from a 6 week trip to Australia and New Zealand.  Our travel agents and their team at this travel company are personable, professional, knowledgeable and did an amazing job putting together our trip! Our collaboration involved several phone calls to discuss options and preferences as our trip was being organized as well as a pre-trip call to answer any questions.  Our email exchange was continuous and responses were very prompt.  We even received a call once during our travels to check in.  Our detailed itinerary was precise and accurate.  Every connection, tour, driver, hotel, etc. was on time and of excellent quality. While in New Zealand in Milford Sound our flight back to Queenstown was cancelled due to poor weather and we received a quick refund.

In Australia we visited Sydney, Melbourne and the Great Ocean Road ( a favorite of ours!), Uluru, Port Douglas and the Great Barrier Reef, and Hobart, Tasmania.  We only stayed a few days in Tasmania but would love to return to enjoy more of the wilderness outside of Hobart.

In New Zealand we visited Auckland and then drove to the Coromandel Peninsula, Rotorua, and Napier.  Then we flew to Christchurch on the South Island and drove to Mt. Cook, Queenstown, and Dunedin.  If you are big fans of the outdoors, spend more time on the South Island.

Our agent selected beautiful and centrally located lodging that usually offered laundry facilities-helpful for a long trip!  The travel company also provided a suggested restaurant list that proved to be excellent!  We would highly recommend this company for your Down Under adventures!  When we travel again to that part of the world, we will definitely call this company.

New Zealand Travel Review: Christchurch, Picton, Nelson, Marlborough District, Abel Tasman Park, Hiking, Cruise, Scenery

Our trip to the South Island of NZ was well planned. We spent a week in the Marlborough area. We enjoyed a lovely train ride from Christchurch to Picton where we spent three nights and went on two mail boat cruises in two different sounds. Our accommodations in Picton were exactly what we wanted: a small, well-appointed hotel with a lovely restaurant. Our transition from the train to the car rental went smoothly.

Next up was our three-day hike in Abel Tasman Park. We loved the hike and the other tourists in our group. I highly recommend the lodging; the food was lovely. My only recommendation is to let clients know this is not an easy hike as there are ups and downs. We were the oldest members of our group, most in their 60s. We did fine, but the hike was more challenging than my husband anticipated. Nevertheless, we did enjoy the scenery, lodging, food, and guides.

Our favorite two nights were at the retreat in Nelson. Absolutely fabulous. We were tired and worn out from hiking, so two days at the retreat were a treat. Great food, surroundings (including a pool and hot tub). The owner even did our laundry which was a bonus! She even made dinner reservations for us and arranged transportation so we didn’t have to drive. Our last night at a hot springs place was our least favorite. The food was fine, but the hot springs were too rocky for me to go in. Rooms were nice, and there was a steam room and massages. I think I was just ready to go back to Christchurch. It was very popular and there were a lot of people.

Franck arranged a wonderful trip for us, and I would highly recommend this travel company.

New Zealand Luxury Review, North & South Islands, Wellington, Queenstown, Sheep Farm, Vineyards
We had an amazing experience with this travel team. I worked directly with our trip planner who was a pleasure to work with and she put together a wonderful itinerary for us. I gave her an overview of what we wanted to do, basically visit both the North and South Islands of New Zealand and get a good overall feel of the country.  We only had 15 days available for this trip due to our work schedules back home which made it a bit of a challenge for our planner. Within a couple of days, she came back with a first pass itinerary which looked really good.  I had a slight change to one of the dates/locations and she was able to accommodate it quickly for us.  We nailed down the dates of our vacation and she was able to confirm all the accommodations and activities within a couple of days. It was a painless process and we were very happy with the results. All the accommodations, activities and transportation this travel team arranged for us were superior. We stayed in a great boutique hotel in Queenstown, a spectacular lodge across from Mount Cook, a great apartment in Akaroa close to everything, an ultra-modern luxury hotel in Wellington, a romantic lodge in Napier surrounded by vineyards, a cute little cottage on a sheep farm near Waitomo Glowworm caves and a top end hotel in Auckland on the harbor. We couldn't have been more pleased with our accommodations. All the activities they arranged for us were great and gave us a great experience in New Zealand. We paid for everything up front, so it was really nice not dealing with any of that while on our trip.  I highly recommend this travel team, you can't go wrong with them.

Luxury New Zealand Vacation Review: Queenstown, Kaikoura, Routeburn, Nelson Lakes National Park Hilking, Fox Glacier Helihike

Our trip was fabulous. Karen at this New Zealand travel company obviously listened to us closely via e-mail and phone exchanges because our itinerary couldn't have been customized any better given the limited time (2 weeks) we had to cover both NZ islands. We had the right mix of self guided/self directed and guide led activities and the transportation mix (planes, trains and automobiles) also broke up the trip nicely. We had a little trepidation about driving given the left side and the winding/narrow roads, but our fears were unfounded as we were pleasantly surprised by the lack of traffic on most highways and the condition of the roads. We enjoyed all the destinations, particularly Nelson, Kaikoura and Queenstown, and the accommodations were top notch. We really loved the B&Bs in Nelson and Queenstown (Shelbourne Villa and Browns Boutique Hotel). Of course, we were not disappointed by the scenery everywhere from the South Pacific to the mountains to the lakes to the lush forests. The hiking in Nelson Lakes National Park (Whisky Falls), Matheson Lake (Fox Glacier) and the Routeburn was peaceful, stunning while challenging at times and inspiring. The helihike on the Fox Glacier may have been our highlight. It's really hard to find anything worthy of criticism given the many arrangements required. All guides/drivers were on time, all reservations were made, the restaurant recommendations were solid and the country lived up to its reputation for friendliness and beauty. We would strongly recommend using this company for your Australasia vacation.

South Pacific Vacation Review: Australia & New Zealand, Aukland, Sydney, Wellington, Rotorua, Hobbiton, Doubtful Sound

~~I retired and my wife and I decided it was time to take the trip to New Zealand and Australia that we had been talking about for quite some time.  I discovered Zicasso while doing my initial research for the trip and decided to give it a try, in addition to the many standard tours we were looking into.  I had many different firms provide proposals and after doing my due diligence I settled on this firm.

Our agent listened and consistently provided options and insights that resulted in a month long itinerary that promised to deliver the experiences we were looking for.  She was a pleasure to deal with.

We spent two weeks in New Zealand beginning in Auckland, moving south through Hobbiton and Rotorua where we gained a deep appreciation for the Maori people and their culture.  Then on to Wellington the capital.  The ferry to Picton and the train to Christchurch were inspiring.  Then we drove from Christchurch to Mt. Cook and then on to Queenstown.  The night we spent on Doubtful Sound was the all-around highlight of the trip.  All throughout the tour guides, drivers and accommodations exceeded expectations.  Then we were on to Australia where our first stop was Sydney.  Alongside the Opera House and the Harbor Bridge a highlight was a half day guided tour of the city in a 1964 Holden.  Then we were on to Cairns and Port Douglas where the Great Barrier Reef and the Daintree Rainforest awaited.  Our day on the Reef was extraordinary.  Snorkeling off the beach at Low Isle was an experience to remember.  Our day on the Daintree River and in the rainforest was unforgettable.  While driving we stopped as a male cassowary and four chicks crossed the road and disappeared into to the bush.  Now we were on to Ayers Rock where the magic of Uluru awaited.  The Sounds of Silence dinner in the desert as the sun set with Uluru in the distance and didgeridoo in the background was magical.  As our time was growing short we were off to Melbourne where we joined a tour on the Great Ocean Road.  Wow, the Twelve Apostles and the coast exceeded our expectations.  What a great place.  Only matched, maybe outdone by the hosts of the B&B’s we stayed at.  We’re not big B&B folks, but the Lock Ard and Little River B&Bs were perfect and we will try more in the future.

Our agent had truly delivered a trip of a lifetime.
