Machu Picchu and Peru tours are for culture lovers, adventure seekers, and anyone that has ever wondered about the sensational beauty of the enduring majesty of Incan civilization. The colorful clothing shines along the green mountains; vibrant pinks, oranges, and reds are weaved into clothing and blankets. Large boulders have been cut, grinded, and pressed together maintaining their integrity for centuries. The scent of roasted choclo, Peruvian corn, floats over the cobblestones in the historic center of Cusco. Machu Picchu almost hovers in the sky with the mountaintops. Whether enjoying the Spanish colonial influence in Lima or the cool water of Lake Titicaca, this holiday will take you inside the majesty of Peru that waits just for you.
Your journey begins with your arrival in Lima. The beautiful city sits on the back of Spanish history with opulent buildings that reflect in the sunlight. The zesty aroma of ceviche fills the historic center as life bustles with joy. Depart for Cusco, stopping to witness the incredible remains of Pucara, a pre-Columbian compound of pyramid ruins. Once in Cusco you will be struck with the beauty of the architecture harkening back to the colonial past while the narrow streets add to the beauty and culture of the altitudinal life. The bohemian neighborhood of San Blas is filled with cafes, artists, and life, while the Plaza de Armas is always vibrant with locals and visitors alike. Explore the Incan fort of Sacsayhuaman that overlooks the city having stood on guard for centuries.
Your visit to Machu Picchu begins with your descent into the Sacred Valley. The Urubamba River washes around the foothills. The tiers of Fort Ollantaytambo once protected the valley and continue to climb up the mountainside. Enjoy the luxurious train ride to Aguas Calientes where you will reach the gates of Machu Picchu, a city that sits amongst the clouds. The ruins gleam with dew and sunlight. The peak of Huayna Picchu sits tall above the city. Explore the famous majesty of one of the new Seven Wonders of the World.
Your adventure through Peru continues as you make your way to Puno and visit the wondrous sites of the chullpas, what remains of the burial grounds of a pre-Incan civilization. The vast stretch of the high plains stretch into the horizon drenched in crisp air and cool earth. Once in Puno you can explore the city that sits between the foothills of the valley and the shores of Lake Titicaca. Explore the famous lake to visit the sensational floating islands of the Uros. Made of woven reeds, the islands drift along the surface of the lake like a slow boat to nowhere, its residences moving to wherever the islands take them. From the floating islands of the Uros to the stationary island of Tequile, experience the variety of cultures and sustained life beyond the shores of Puno.
Your final day in Peru will have you in Lima, exploring the lingering Spanish influences and historic pyramid of Huaca Pucllana that sits within the beautiful seaside neighborhood of Miraflores. We just came back from a private 14-day-tour of Peru with this travel company. We visited Lima, flew over the Nazca Line, went to the Amazon jungle, visited the Sacred Valley, Machu Picchu, and Cusco, then finished up with the Lake Titicaca. Overall we had a great time. We are very happy with the itinerary, all the transferrings, most of the hotels and tour guides. Before the trip, we were worried about the mosquitos in the jungles and the altitude of the high lands. But we barely got any mosquito bites due to the dry season. We had spent several days in Sacred valley before heading to Cusco, nobody in our party had altitude sickness.

In general, the trip was laid out and organized very well. We always had a pick up and drop off and they were always punctual and very helpful. All but 2 of the tours of were excellent. Our guides in Arequipa, Puno/Colca Canyon, Cusco/Sacred Valley, Lake Titicaca, Lima, Machu Picchu were all absolutely amazing. They made the tours and the sites very enjoyable, interesting, and they felt well worth the price paid. The remaining 2 left much to be desired. The tours were a bit boring and both men seemed to repeat themselves quite a bit. They were not very engaging at all. Also one guide and his driver, did something I've never seen before - they ordered food and arranged a pickup on the side of the road. I have taken many, many tours and have never see such a thing before. I understand the gentlemen need to eat, but this to me seemed very unprofessional. Not to mention, it's a little disconcerting that the person driving a very large tour bus is attempting teat a meal with a fork and knife at the same time.
Overall, the trip was excellent and I have very few complaints. I would definitely recommend this company to others.

Trip:
We visited Sacred Valley, Machu Picchu, Cusco, Lake Titicaca, Lima over the period of 8 days. It was very well planned as per our expectations, level of services and facilities. Every day was planned with enough activity as well as time for us to explore on our own too. Since all of us are Vegetarian, that requirement was very well thought and planned for each day. Every day of our trip was full of seeing visiting great natural and historical sites in the region. We loved the nature, culture, food and history of all the areas that we visited. Overall entire trip went well without any problems. For us because of language issue and tons of things needed to be arranged for our trip our choice of Zicasso was the best.
Travel Company:
After my initial request at Zicasso I received 3 proposals for our Peru trip. All of those were good but varied in price range. I talked to all of them and then selected one travel company's proposal. I can not praise enough because the travel company pulled all the stops. The travel specialists completely customized our trip as per our requirements. The travel company took care of all minor details of like airline check-in and boarding passes to hotel check-in, all entrance tickets, restaurant reservations, etc. The travel company also provided us with an App that had all the information of our trip that we could access off-line too. I would recommend Zicasso and the travel company to anyone who appreciates well planned tours.

This was my first booking through Zicasso and their recommend agent in Lima. Our journey was a 17 day trip which included Lima, Arequipa, Chivay (Colca Canyon), Puno (Lake Titicaca), Cusco, Sacred Valley, and of course, the most amazing of all - Machu Picchu! The itinerary was great, hotels were wonderful (especially the breakfasts), and the transfers/logistical arrangements were all spot on. Our travel agency provided a helpful and friendly representative in each location who met us, took us to our hotel, briefed us on the activities for the following day(s), and made sure we were taken care of every step of the way. The price was very competitive and fair. Service was A+. While we were "on our own" in terms of setting our own itinerary, our agency hooked us up with different small group tours (usually 15 or less people in a minvan, except for the long haul transfers, which were on a comfortable bus) at each location to see the sights. We had a private guide for Machu Pichhu. This approach combined the economies of group tours with the freedom of individual travel. All the guides were fantastic and we enjoyed meeting new people each day.
