Exploring Portugal’s Stunning Coastlines: Active Senior Vacation

After having a leisurely morning, your guide will lead you on a birdwatching tour. You will make your way to Ria Formosa National Park, where you will board a boat for an up-close experience with native birds of the region. After birdwatching, you will make a stop at a lovely lagoon, where you will have some time to relax and spend at your leisure. This afternoon, a gourmand guide will lead you on a culinary expedition through Faro and some of its top eateries.

After breakfast this morning, you will board a catamaran for an enjoyable cruise that will allow you to stop at four islands: Deserta, Farol, Hangares, and Culatra. At each island, you will have the chance to partake in guided tours or leisurely exploration. The day’s plan will be entirely up to you, meaning that you can spend the majority of your time relaxing on the beach of one island or from the vantage point of the catamaran. Your crew will provide you with dinner en route back to Faro.

This morning, you transfer to Vilamoura. When you arrive, you will quickly settle in to your accommodation before beginning the day’s activities. This morning, you will have the opportunity to parasail and jet ski. If these are too adventurous for you, alternative plans can be arranged. For example, you can have a relaxing day on the beach or visit one of the many museums in Faro. This evening will allow you to embark on a sunset dinner sail on the Atlantic. After your cruise, you will have the remainder of the evening to spend at your leisure.

After breakfast this morning, your guide will lead you on a tour along the coastline of the Vilamoura region. Throughout the tour, you will have the chance to stop at some local markets, where you can enjoy a seafood tasting. Your tour will provide you with incredible views of the coast before returning you to Vilamoura. This evening, a private cooking class with a master chef will teach you how to cook an authentic Portuguese meal. Afterward, you can indulge in the fruits of your labor before having the rest of the evening to spend at your leisure.

After breakfast this morning, you will transfer to Lagos, where you will embark on a private walking tour of the city. Your tour will lead you to iconic landmarks throughout the city, such as the King Dom Sebastiao statue, the sculpture of Dom Sebastiao, the statue of Infante Dom Henrique, the Castelo dos Governadores, and the Jardim da Constituicao. Your day will then lead you on a half-day cruise. This cruise will afford your spectacular views and a cabin crew that can accommodate your every need.

For your last day in Portugal, you will embark on a leisurely hike. This hike will lead you along Lagos’ postcard-worthy shoreline. Eventually, your hike will lead you to the Ponta da Piedade Lighthouse. Afterward, you will return to your accommodation, where you can have a few hours to spend at your leisure. This evening, you will partake in a private painting course with a professional painter. Naturally, this can be accompanied by your choice of wine. You will be able to keep your painting as a keepsake in addition to all the memories you made on this incredible vacation.

Today will be your final morning in Portugal. You can have breakfast and the morning at your leisure. Soon, you will transfer to the airport for your flight home.
