Detailed Description

Lisbon will lead you on a journey into the time of the Moors as you wander among palaces with origins unknown, through the vibrancy of today with cobblestone streets that are laced in color and chic vibes, and across the plains of old-world Portugal to medieval towns like Obidos and Evora. You will be thrown into an immersive tale of a city and country, which will be illustrated by Fado music, Manueline architecture, and elegant vineyards. Handcrafted as the ultimate one-week Lisbon itinerary, these seven days will celebrate the best of a city and its surroundings with private tours and an exclusive inside perspective of one of the world’s finest upcoming travel destinations.

Throughout your stay, you will be staying at a luxurious accommodation in the city center. Two day trips will provide you with a taste of wider Portugal, while private day tours will slowly build your impressions of this enchanting city. From backstreet graffiti to glorious palaces and from the original pastel de nata to contemporary Lisbon cuisine, these will be seven days of unique experiences and authentic sights. By the time you fly home, you will have discovered the real Lisbon.

Taking tram route 28 is an excellent way to get acquainted with the city on day one. For day two, a local guide will lead you into Lisbon’s grand history, including an intimate look at the Manueline architectural style that gives the city such a distinctive feel. On day three, you can indulge in a day trip to Alentejo, where vineyards and the stunning old town of Evora reside. Back in Lisbon, you will gasp at Moorish history in Sintra before settling in to the decorous coastal luxury of Cascais. By traveling into edgy Lisbon, you will have a private backstreet art tour on day five, which will be followed by a beautiful evening of Fado music. That still leaves time for a day trip to Obidos and other majestic attractions north of Lisbon. It is a lot for a week, and you will love how the city is vibrant and laid-back at the same time.

Portugal Travel Review: Coimbra, Sintra, Cascais, Douro Valley, Food & Wine, Culture & History
We had an absolutely amazing trip to Portugal organized and hosted by the travel company.  The travel designers and their team were wonderful.  From the start, our travel designer did a great job working with us to understand the type of trip and experiences we were looking for and then crafting a customized itinerary for us.  We spent 5 nights in Lisbon and 4 nights in Porto with numerous day trips to include Sintra, Evora, and the Duoro Valley.  We also were able to stop at several historical towns on our transfers between Lisbon and Porto to include Coimbra, Obidos, Tomar, and Nazarre.  The designer organized several tours for us to include food and wine tasting tours in both Porto and Lisbon that were incredible.  She also did a wonderful job providing us with some great cultural and historical experiences throughout our time. We were very fortunate to have our travel specialist for our transfers between Lisbon and Porto and back as he is a wealth of knowledge on the history of Portugal and really made our stops at various historical sites come to life.  We could go on and on, but, suffice it to say, we had a phenomenal time and would highly recommend the services of this travel company to anyone considering a trip to Portugal.  You will not be disappointed!

Luxury Portugal Travel Review: Golfing, Cork Forest, Wineries, Exploring Walled Cities, Tuk Tuk Tour, Castles
My husband and I are thrilled that we used the travel company for our two-week trip to Portugal. Usually we plan our trips on our own but we are do glad that we decided to engage the local expertise of Nuno and his colleagues. Together with our input, they designed an itinerary that provided a complete mix of experiences and locations that were on and off the beaten path. By using a Portuguese agency who really knows how to experience the country, we were able to see so many cities and towns without feeling rushed (Porto, Braga, Obidos, Coimbra, Monsaraz, Evora, Douro Valley, Alentejo Region, Lisbon, Sintra). We visited historic landmarks, wineries, quaint walled cities, a cork forest, golf courses, palaces, and more. Most impressive was the quality of the guides in each location. Nuno made sure that we had local guides with deep knowledge in each place we visited. We also had excellent drivers who made great suggestions about what to do, see, and eat when we had time on our own. It was a pleasure having others do the driving and get us everywhere with ease and on time. The travel company was also available by phone every day if we had any questions or concerns while we were in the country. If you are going to Portugal and you want a trip that is top-notch in every way, the travel company will exceed your expectations.

Travel Review: Luxury Tour of Portugal, Oporto, Sintra, Lisbon, Batalham, Coimbra, Obidos, Fado Show, Hiking, Wine Tasting

We spent a brief, but very memorable, 8 days exploring Portugal: Oporto, Duoro Valley, Lisbon, Sintra with a few stops in Coimbra, Batalha and Obidos.  Our travel team were awesome.  They were extremely friendly & truly appeared as if they loved their jobs and were excited to show their country to us.  (and in all honesty, EVERYONE in Portugal was extremely friendly- really a nice, nice people) They were punctual (never one late pick-up), responsive (returned or answered every query/ phone call promptly) and amenable to last minute changes (we decided to forgo a tour of Lisbon at the last minute to return to Sintra on one of the days for a hike as it was hot & crowded & we wanted to get off the beaten track a bit!).  Two of our guides were like walking encyclopedias.  Our guide had an enthusiasm about people and his country that is rare and wonderful.  He showed us the small towns of Coimbra, Balalha and Obidos and seeing them through his eyes made them some of our favorite stops.  Our other guide was calm & thorough and easy going- perfect for seeing Sintra and Lisbon.  Though we had a few VERY minor mishaps (lost reservations at a restaurant, no veggie option which we were told there would be at the Fado house)- these were more than made up by apologies and extras!  I would over-all I give our agent & her crew FIVE stars for a wonderful trip & introduction to Portugal and a lovely tailored service.

Portugal Family Tour Review: Lisbon, Sintra, Evora, Porto, Algarve, Madeira, Douro Valley, Cooking Class, Tile-Painting Workshop, 13 Nights

The travel agent from Zicasso's tour company planned for my family of four the most spectacular and luxurious two-week trip around Portugal. We traveled to and enjoyed the highlights of Lisbon, the romantic architecture in Sintra, the incredible history of Évora, the beautiful coastline of the Algarve, the laid-back atmosphere and gorgeous scenery of Madeira, the beautiful, historical, bustling city of Porto, and the stunning scenery of the Douro Valley.

The travel agent's suggestions and bookings were all perfectly aligned with what we envisioned and the accommodations booked were all beautifully appointed and family-oriented – five-star hotels that catered to the entire family, with indoor pools and kids greeted with backpacks and toys at the door, and nightly treats on pillows.

The tour guides booked were all very knowledgeable and kind. They were patient with my two- and four-year-olds, and taught us all so many new, amazing things.

Every day was a highlight, but I would say my girls really enjoyed the tile painting as well as the pastel de nata-making workshops.

My husband and I really enjoyed Évora and Sintra, and truly seeing the beauty and history of it all.

We absolutely fell in love with Portugal, the culture, and the food. My only regret is not having more time so we could’ve seen the Azores as well and stayed even longer.

We so look forward to this travel agent planning us another perfect vacation in the near future!

Travel Review: Solo Trip to Portugal & Spain, Barcelona, Madrid, Lisbon, Sintra, Obidos, Seville, Cordoba, Segovia, Toledo

One of the best decisions I made was to select a travel agency in the Country I wanted to visit.  My current agency in the United States could not have put together such a fantastic itinerary as did this travel agency.

I visited Lisbon, Madrid & Barcelona.  In addition to Sintra, Obidos, Alcobaca, Batalha, Evora, Elvas, Sevilla, Cordoba, Toledo, Segovia, & Girona.  I had  private tour guides in each region I visited.  If this will be your first trip to Spain or Portugal, I would not do it without a tour guide.  They get you into all the major sites without waiting in line!!!

That's worth the money alone.

My tour designer and his staff could not have been more gracious, professional and knowledgeable.  The tour guides were very knowledgeable in each region I visited.  I learned more in my 3 week visit than I could of ever learned on my own.

When I had an issue on the hotel room in Madrid, one phone call to my representative's office and it was corrected.  Not only in Madrid, but he made sure the rest of my hotel rooms throughout my trip were the same standards.

Thanks again to this travel company for designing a trip that I will remember for the rest of my life.
