Your eyes will be glued to the window as you check out luscious green parks that will be bursting with floral displays. Spain Trip Review: Barcelona, Montserrat, Costa Brava, Girona, Penedes, Sagrada Familia, 1-Week Vacation
This was a fantastic journey from beginning to end. Michael and I thoroughly enjoyed the itinerary.  It was precisely what we were looking for. Our guide was wonderful - she was prompt,  thoughtful and knowledgeable about every aspect. Not a single complaint. Sagrada Familia,  Gothic Quarter, Costa Brava, Girona...superb.And our guide to Montserrat and Penedes was just as wonderful. What a beautiful day on the mountain. And our driver was courteous,  friendly and very prompt...always professional. Jorge, we would not have changed a thing. Jorge listened to all our requests and delivered what we asked for and much more. I tried other online agencies but none compared to the quality of Jorge's services. Exceptional. We are planning a trip to Portugal in May 2024, and we look forward to working again with Jorge if he is available. John and Michael

Travel Review: Luxury Private Spain Tour, Barcelona, Girona, Costa Brava, Wine Tours, Gaudi Tours, etc.

Everything was really excellent. Russ and the rest of the tour company were very helpful in all the detailed planning. The only couple items & it's really very minor; our itinerary had us going to Montserrat on a Sun. which is the busiest day. The roads were EXTREMELY crowded & of course the Monastery itself. Also a day tour was set up on Barcelona's state holiday so most places were closed & our itinerary had to be changed. The protest throughout Barcelona were really a neat experience . We weren't real impressed with Llorett De Mar other than our wonderful accommodations. We would have preferred to stay in Tossa which was our first choice. Tossa had a lot more charm, good restaurants & not so touristy.

Tour Review: Spain & Morocco Family Trip, Barcelona, Montserrat, Valencia, Madrid, Toledo, Marrakesh, History & Culture

Our travel planner and his team did a fantastic job organizing my family's recent 12-day trip to Spain (10 days) and Morocco (2 days). Very pleased. We went to Barcelona, Montserrat, Valencia, Madrid, Toledo, Sevilla, Granada and Marrakech in a fast-paced tour during the less crowded month of February and it was amazing. Our travel planner worked with the budget I provided and the interests I specified to make sure that this was the trip of a lifetime! All the hotel, transport and tour arrangements went smoothly and it was well organized. Considering the eight cities, hotel, plane, train and tour details, this was very comforting. I liked that a printed copy of each item and ticket in the itinerary was ready for us when we arrived in Barcelona just in case. And when I had a couple of requests in Sevilla and Marrakech, our travel planner was available by phone to make both things happen! Many thanks!

Review: Spain Family Vacation, Madrid, Barcelona, Toledo, Girona, Costa Brava, Montserrat, Sagrada Familia, Food Tour, Hiking

I worked with this travel agent and he planned a fabulous trip for myself, my husband and our 2 kids (12 and 16)!  It was a perfect combination of museums and churches, outdoorsy (hiking in Montserrat) and gastronomy (a food tour in Barcelona) and of big cities and small towns. Everything was taken care of in advance so we didn't have to worry, and even once we got to Spain and wanted to make some last minute changes to our itinerary, he couldn't have been more accommodating.

Spain Vacation Review: Barcelona, Priorat, Catalonia, Girona, Costa Brava, Epicurean Tour & Cooking Class

The trip was fantastic. Although my husband and I have travelled extensively, we have never taken a customized private tour before. Typically we arrange everything ourselves, doing internet research and booking directly. This was somewhat of an experiment for us, to see if we could have a better experience with less effort by using Zicasso and and this Spain travel agency. As far as having a better experience, that definitely happened. We had a total of 6 different planned activities, with 5 different guides, and through them we had very memorable experiences and learned more about Catalonia and Spain than we ever would have on our own. Several of these experiences were things that we wouldn't have thought to ask for on our own (e.g. the Castellers) and that was a huge benefit of using an agency that specialized in the area. The reason I gave a 4 star instead of a 5 star rating had to do with the fact that we had some communication issues with our travel agency, and 1 of our 5 guides wasn't very good.

The communication issues started in the initial planning process. A friend referred me to Zicasso, and my understanding from her was the the initial questionnaire process would be very detailed so that the trip would be customized to our preferences. So I filled out the not-very-detailed survey online, and was surprised when I got  detailed itineraries from 2 (not 3) different travel companies that were not very close to what we wanted. For example, our initial itinerary had us changing hotels every day or 2, and traveling fairly long distances to have a quick stay in different parts of the country. We don't like to travel this way, preferring to take a more in-depth look at a smaller number of places, and if we had had been asked more questions before the initial proposal was put together, we would have been much closer to our perfect trip right out of the gate, with less effort. The communication was impeded by language barriers and the time difference. We finally got things worked out by having a phone call. I wish Zicasso gathered more information to aid the travel agents in designing the initial proposal, and/or a conversation happened in the very beginning.

Another issue that became a problem in one instance is that the agency relies on their guides to plan the detailed itineraries. When I asked our agent how we would decide what to do, specifically, she said you will work that out with your guide when you meet him/her. For the most part that was fine because the guides were good and we trusted their opinions, not knowing the city ourselves. But one of our five guides was not good. He was condescending and sarcastic, and we felt like he only showed us what he wanted to show us. If we asked for something else he treated as if we were foolish for asking. (He even told us that the Gaudi houses in Barcelona aren't worth seeing, and believe me, they are fantastic). He did our private tour of Barcelona, and we felt like we spent more time in a taxi, with him checking his phone rather than talking to us, than we did learning about the city.  He was also the one to take us on a full day tour to Girona and the Costa Brava area. Because we hadn't worked out the details in advance, what we wanted to do wasn't what he had been told by the agency. He then proceeded to tell us what a hassle it was that we wanted to change the plan, that it wasn't his fault, that it wasn't possible, that he had already made a lunch reservation that we weren't going to be able to get to, etc. In the end he worked it out so that we got to see what we wanted to see, but the confrontation spoiled the mood of the trip, and we felt like we got a very rushed tour of Girona, because, as he told us, it was an 8-hour tour and no more (although we did stay out for 8-1/2). I would not recommend that this travel agency use this guide.

Other than that issue, the trip went very smoothly. All of the guides and drivers were where we were told they would be when we were told they would be. We had 2 very minor email communications with the agency during the trip, and those were handled promptly, even when our main point of contact was on vacation.

Spain Family Tour Review: Andalucia, Girona, Cathedrals, Villages, 12-Day Trip
The travel agency and Emilly did a wonderful job organizing an exciting whirlwind tour of Spain for our family. She kept on top of countless details and in the few instances when there were problems, she did her best to make them right. She chose activities that we would never have been able to find on our own, including a day trip to a white village in southern Spain, where we visited a quaint Andalusian town, and had lunch that we made ourselves with the locals. We loved visiting Girona, a wonderful Catalan city that many visitors to Spain overlook. These are the types of experiences that we will always remember, and differ from just visiting the beautiful cathedrals and medieval villages which anyone can do.We stayed at various homes throughout Spain that were well chosen, based on their location and amenities. We would not hesitate to use their wonderful agency again.
