Australia & Tasmania Tour: Sydney, Blue Mountains, Ayers Rock, Cairns, Great Barrier Reef, Winery Tour, Bonorong, Bruny Island

Our trip to Australia was a trip of a lifetime and it exceeded all our expectation thanks to our travel agent from the Australia tour company. Our agent worked with us tirelessly for months to customize a package to fit our needs and our budget. Our trip consisted of 10 airline flights, 8 shuttle transfers, 7 hotels and 10 tours. Every connection went like clockwork and problem free.  Each tour was well managed and professionally done. Every hotel was clean and comfortable with 100% satisfaction from us.  We were particularly happy with Tasmania in general and the Hotel Grand Chancellor Hobart.

Our 4 days in Sydney over New Years was fabulous and we loved the city.  The Hunter Valley Wine tour was great and we were sorry to miss the Blue Mountain tour but it did not fit.  Ayers Rock was enjoyable and we were glad to make it a brief stopover. Cairns was a beautiful location and we enjoyed our 3 days there doing Karanda and the Reef.  As mentioned Tasmania was super special.  We loved the Bruny Island cruise and the city of Hobart.  We drove our rental car to Swansea with stops at the Bonorong Wildlife Sanctuary (highly recommended) and historic Richmond.  After a visit to Freycinet National Park which was lovely, we drove to Launceston.

Our 3 days in Melbourne after our Princess cruise was also very special.  We enjoyed the city and the Travelodge Southbank hotel.  It had the perfect location next to the Eureka Tower, the riverwalk and the free tram for the city. We flew home on Australia Day which was a little disappointing but no one considered that before the trip..

Luxury Australia Honeymoon Review: Tasmania, Sydney, Hamilton Island, Cradle Mountain, Freycinet, Harbor Kayaking Tour

Our trip was was amazing!  We went to Tasmania (Cradle Mountain and Freycinet), Hamilton Island, and Sydney for 2 weeks (although 2 of those days were pure travel).

Tasmania was amazing.  We loved both Cradle and Freycinet...we wish we could have spent more time at both.  We understood that time was limited, however would recommend at least two nights at both which our travel agent did suggest.  Regardless, we were super pleased and would recommend Tasmania be highlighted more to travelers anywhere.  I really didn't know anything about it and got lucky.  More travelers need to know (on second thought, maybe let's keep it a secret) how pristine and special Tasmania is in Australia.  Maybe it was just me not knowing though.

Hamilton Island was awesome, but you are kind of "stuck" with their amenities.  With limited options for food that is less than $20 ASD a sandwich it was somewhat annoying but we understood you get what you pay for and so we just accepted it.  Having a few "beach" options to choose amongst would have been nice...also...you receive the same amenities (as far as I knew) at Reef View as the Beach Resort.  I'm glad I did NOT choose the Beach resort as the view of the ocean was much better and the short walk to the beach was a non-issue.  I would choose view over a walk across the street anytime but I get that that is hard to communicate.  Our travel agent did a good job of downplaying that or I may have chosen the Beach resort and been disappointed.  If you do choose Reef View then request a high floor...we were on the 17th floor and had the most amazing view (this may cost a little more...well worth it).  Overall, Hamilton Island was BEAUTIFUL and we loved the amenities, the hikes, getting a golf buggy, and seeing the sunset on One Tree Hill.  Such a treat...I even cried a little I was so overwhelmed with its beauty and the surroundings.

Sydney was expected...a big city.  The kayak tour under the Sydney Harbour Bridge was awesome.  I would definitely recommend it again.  The bridge climb...I wish I knew how scared I would be.  We didn't like that we couldn't cancel last minute without any refund...especially when it was rainy and windy.  We hated it...although, yes, the views were beautiful.  We would have accepted a penalty to cancel and wish we knew in advance that it wasn't refundable...make sure you do your research if you are on the fence.  Based on when we went (Twilight) it seemed like we could have booked and made our decisions last minute regardless of what they told us.  Finally, the Opera House should be promoted more...we wish we would have went.  We walked around it and were too late to book a show so ended up going to a very cool jazz club called The Basement around Circular Quay.  A fun unexpected concert that provided a unique experience to Sydney that felt local yet a great Saturday night out.

Overall, simply put...the trip was EPIC.

Travel Review: Luxury Australia Tour, Sydney, Melbourne, Phiilps Island, Kangaroo Island, Port Douglas, Daintree Rainforest

Our agent did a terrific job of suggesting places to go and things to see. With her planning, we were able to forget about the logistic hassles and were met at each airport by our limo (usually a Mercedes and one Rolls Royce!)..

Our accommodations were top notch (except for Kangaroo Island where there weren't as many choices). I especially liked reclining on our bed in Sydney and looking out at the harbor traffic under the bridge. Also, the apartment in Port Douglas was timed just right so we could have a free afternoon to relax and do laundry. And the service at our Hobart hotel was outstanding.

The small tour groups - from just us in the Daintree & Melbourne to just four and a guide in Kangaroo Island - were terrific. Larger groups weren't bad, though our van driver in Sydney kept stalling the vehicle.

New Zealand & Australia Travel Agent Review: Cities & Countryside, the People, Wildlife Sanctuaries, 4-Week Luxury Trip
We were absolutely thrilled with our trip.  It was a trip of a lifetime--so many fantastic memories we created over the last month.  We met some really wonderful people, as well, and are even starting to plan a return visit to NZ in the future.Working with Zicasso then this travel company has been a truly enjoyable endeavor.  Zicasso was easy to navigate, and the responses from our initial inquiries were handled quickly and efficiently. We chose this company because their proposed itinerary was in perfect alignment with our interests and activity level.  As we engaged in more detailed discussions regarding our itinerary, it was apparent that we were working with an extremely knowledgable, competent, and customer-focused team.  Leading up to our trip, the bush fires in AUS became problematic for us (one of us has asthma) and we were increasingly uncomfortable spending time in Sydney.  We were glad to have a frank discussion about this with the company, felt that our concerns were taken seriously, and we subsequently changed part of our itinerary to minimize time in Sydney.  We ended up spending the days that had been planned for Sydney in Hobart, Tasmania.  What a happy surprise that was! We enjoyed our time there immensely.Throughout our trip, it was nice to know that the company was there if we needed them, and quick to respond when we did have a question.  This travel company gets a well-deserved 5 star rating from us, and we would recommend them without reservation or hesitation.

Review: Luxury Tour of New Zealand & Australia, Sydney, Melbourne, Hobart, Tasmania, Great Barrier Reef, Photography & Nature

We were planning a five week trip to Australia (including Tasmania) and New Zealand and had no idea where to even start. Our travel agent listened to our preferences (animal life, photography, nature etc) and planned the most wonderful trip.  Everything was well organized and crammed through with really exceptional tours and some truly unique experiences (ie Sidney Outback). The hotels were terrific with amazing views, exceptional concierge service and always located in an area that we could walk everywhere.  His choice to put us in the hotel in Hobart made us very happy and if we had known what a delightful city Hobart was we would have elected to stay another day (5 weeks is really a whirwind tour and we will have to go back!).

Australia Travel Review: Sydney, Perth, Melbourne, Tasmania, Hobart, Kangaroo Island, Featherdale Animal Park, Blue Mountain Tour

My husband & I had a wonderful month-long trip to Australia!!  Our agent at this Australia travel company did an excellent job of selecting great hotels & superb tours.  Our favorite spot was Tasmania ... Hobart is a very quaint little harbor town full of very polite people ... like the US was a generation ago.  Driving on the left was a serious challenge for my husband, so we parked rental cars in the cities we visited & used very efficient public transportation.  We needed to use GPS devices & my only complaint is that GPS was not included with our rental cars in Darwin & Cairns and for the amount of money we paid for our trip, we feel that those $55. fees should have been paid or we should have known in advance so we could make other arrangements.  Overall, I would give a 4.75 star rating.
